beau_t Posted February 24, 2016 Report Posted February 24, 2016 Haha! I actually liked Travis and Kelly better than Travis and Rebecca. But I'm curious to see if I still feel the same this time round, as my opinion on some other characters has been different than expected.
Dan F Posted February 25, 2016 Author Report Posted February 25, 2016 Just a heads-up for the regular EY viewers if you hadn't spotted it, we've an upcoming interview with Laura Vazquez (Sarah) - you can submit questions here
Natasha Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 I think Sarah would never have left if this hadn't happened. She never talked about leaving before so basically Alf drove her out. Why didn't he hired a baby sitter or ask Curtis? Studying is important and asking Sarah to look after Duncan was unfair. Will this saga with Michael and Pippa end?
Bobby Forever Missed Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 Alf is so damn stubborn at times
Trudy Heine Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 Me again. Guessing some of you aren't really fans of Sally? No offence, Spoiler maybe in a few years you'll find her better.

early years fan Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 pretty much agreeing with others on Alf's treatment of Sarah. They shouldn't have taken her for granted, to be a built in baby sitter at their house all the time. Alf really does put his foot in it sometimes. funny how people just decide on the day they are going to up and leave, then pack their bags and jump in a car and drive off into the sunset. Seems to happen quite regularly over the past year. Nothing like making life changing decisions at the drop of a hat, and no forward planning with it. Got the feeling Sarah hadn't been happy for a while now and it was her time to go. Roxy's breast cancer storyline was great for raising awareness about the disease... I really felt for Pippa when Michael didn't show up for the dinner, he is being such an Ahole! Didn't notice so much when I was younger, but being older and having a family now, I can appreciate this storyline so much better with the relationship breakdown. Looking forward to Irene doing a bit of old country and western lol
beau_t Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 Really quite unhappy with Sarah's exit story. Why did the writers think that was a good idea? Firstly, it came totally out of the blue. What was the benefit of having Sarah and Alf part on bad terms? It didn't achieve anything other than making the story un-necessarily miserable. Sarah realising she needed space to study would have been enough, the Duncan drama was uncalled for. Like Natasha said above, why was there no mention of a babysitter? Alf and Ailsa are forever talking about these unseen babysitters who look after Duncan, but suddenly that was forgotten for the sake of a contrived story.
Scott82 Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 I too was quite shocked at Sarah's exit, could of been a lot happier. Alf can be very unreasonable at times. The writers should of least gone down the safe route of either bringing in the babysitter, sending Duncan over to play with Christopher at Pippa's or have Duncan go with Alf. Or just have Sarah realise that she misses Tug and have her leave to join him, and have her exit after the HSC exams. Michael is driving me mad, he is just being a total PITA. He should at least gone and had dinner and then return to the boatshed. Looking at this with adult eyes, I think Michael was always a bit hard to get on with, Haydn did not help, but he should of been able to look at ways of getting through the problems, without causing heartache for the family, even possibly hiring a casual to assist him with the peak work loads.
alexx Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 As we edge towards 1995 I can sense the drama becoming more heightened and emotional as well as a little more topical too. I must have completely blanked Sarah's exit out of my head because it was quite a sad departure. Tinged with the feeling like she had come full circle but in a negative way leaving on a down with Alf. Not very nice to watch if it was real life but it made interesting drama I suppose. I feel like at this stage they're focusing on a bit of the negative side of life which heightens the drama - Roxy's cancer storyline is playing out really authentically and it's way more emotional than I remembered it being. Pippa and Michael's separation has been very slow and steady and at a realistic pace, which makes it feel real especially because it seems to be affecting the characters quite deeply - just adds to the intensity which I don't think they did as well in 1993-1994.
