H&A more modern than Neighbours in 1988?

I have watched so far the first 126 episodes of H&A, up to July 1988 and comparing it to Neighbours, while some of the sets looked a bit dated, mainly the SBH and Ailsa's shop, I am under the judgement that in 1988 alone, the year H&A began it was more exciting than Neighbours.

Reasons

H&A had many more location scenes and filming than Neighbours in 1988. Summer Bay had a more exotic feel to it.

The teens were more mischievous.

The exterior scenes in H&A seemed sunnier and brighter due to a beach location.

H&A featured a school as part of its regular series, Neighbours in 1988 hardly featured a school.

Would anyone think H&A in 1988 was more vibrant than Neighbours in 1988?
