I think that would be one of the least weird of the others that have mentioned such as Chris Hemsworth as Robbie and Dannii Minogue as Marilyn. But imagine Tim as Pete? I´m thinking about the hostage situation specially, it´s just so weird to think about
Jezz Posted January 30, 2015 Report Posted January 30, 2015 Well I know the shortlist for Pippa was 1 Coral Willesee 2 Vanessa Downing 3 Debra Lawrence 4 Jackie Woodbourne. In 1990 when Vanessa Downing quit they called back Jackie Woodbourne and Debra Lawrence as they were the last 2 on the shortlist and then Debra Lawrence got the role. It would have been amazing had Jackie got the role! Assuming Jackie stayed as long as Debra did in her role as Pippa I doubt Karl and Susan would exist at all or in the form of how big they are today on Neighbours.

It would not be amazing, cos that would mean we wouldn't have had her as Susan.

It would not be amazing, cos that would mean we wouldn't have had her as Susan. I mean 'amazing' in the sense of 20/20 hindsight if Jackie had actually got the role of Pippa ahead of Debra. Also what's to say Karl and Susan still wouldn't have existed if Jackie got the role. Maybe the longevity would be substantially short but I'm sure a different and capable actress could have got the role of Susan had Jackie been on Home and Away at the time. Anyway it is what it is now and we should be privileged to see Karl and Susan on our screens on Neighbours for over 20 years now and that Alan and Jackie are still very devoted to the show after so many years.
adam436 Posted February 1, 2015 Author Report Posted February 1, 2015 I guess that's true.. just because Jackie has been on Neighbours for 20 years and Debra stayed for 8 years on Home and Away, doesn't mean Jackie would have stayed that long as Pippa. If Jackie played Pippa for 2-3 years, then jumped across to Neighbours to play Susan, I can imagine all the collective groans of Neighbours fans saying it's "Not Pippa" or it's "Pippa in Ramsay Street" Sadly, I think it would have taken Jackie/Susan a while to shake off that tag too.

Perry Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Danny Raco auditioned and won the role of Noah but they couldn't find an actor who would pass as his brother so when they cast Ben Steele as Jude they gave Beau Brady the role of Noah and wrote the role of Alex for Danny Raco. Danny turned up late on his first day as he was given the wrong call time.
