James Martin Posted September 11, 2022 Report Posted September 11, 2022 Funeral is on Monday next week, so I assume at least the C5 broadcast is a goner - do we know if they're going to show Friday's episode or are they carrying on? Quote

Tomorrows C5 lunchtime repeat is set to be the next episode on. The one that didnt air Friday lunchtime still went out again at 6 on 5star and is available on my5/catch up. I imagine as you say the monday after will be the same situation but nothing is confirmed etc yet. They are really last minute confirming their schedules with stuf flike this. Presuma ly as they wait to see what the competition does. Quote
James Martin Posted September 11, 2022 Report Posted September 11, 2022 That sets a worrying precedent. So the Commonwealth Games cliffhanger won't get an airing in HD. I still don't watch on 5* for that reason. Quote
Red Ranger 1 Posted September 12, 2022 Report Posted September 12, 2022 To be fair, it wasn't much of a cliffhanger... 1 Quote

630si Posted September 12, 2022 Author Report Posted September 12, 2022 Do you have the my5 app on your smart TV? The live Stream of 5star is HD on there. Quote

To be honest with you as soon as Channel 5 dropped the 6pm airing, which I recorded from the very first day and watched later, as soon as they dropped that I moved to on demand only. I do get though that some people may not have the option to watch on demand/catch up so therefore in HD. So it can be a nuisance. I want my episodes in HD! Interestingly enough though, a friend of mine recently got sky glass. 5STARHD is an actual channel on there! Although presumably they can do that as it is streaming so not using digital airwaves? James Martin Posted September 12, 2022 Report Posted September 12, 2022 I assume Sky Glass uses the same feed My5 does and can therefore service the channel in HD. Very odd it's not available on Sky and Virgin given ITV2, E4 etc. are. I'm surprised they just haven't stopped until after the funeral. They have to take a pretty long break at Christmas so they might as well pause for ten days and cushion that blow. Quote

I was very surprised to see the actual channel in HD as I have never seen it anywhere else. I agree, they should have taken a break until after the funeral. Just cleared the slate until then. I am currently five weeks behind ( UK airings ) so thankfully I usually wrap up mid December and then only have to wait about two weeks until it returns in January. Quote
James Martin Posted September 12, 2022 Report Posted September 12, 2022 I'll have to check my IPTV box to see if they've got it in HD - it certainly wasn't anywhere near HD on Friday night! My beef with 5* is it's just so badly encoded so there's a lot of MPEG "noise" in the picture. Quote
