Curtis and drink

I am sure this had been discussed before but my memory had been refreshed as I recently saw the clip in 2000 when Sam told Ailsa that Curtis wasn't doing so well on the surfing circuit and the scene ended with a close up on Ailsa looking really worried. As it had been three years since we saw Curtis I really thought hat story was going to go somewhere. But was it just Sam stirring as he was pretty troubled himself? Who knows, but it was a shame it wasn't followed through. Anyway it made me think how nice it would be to get some one from his era back permanently. Shame they killed off Chloe, but would actually really like to see Curtis back. I can see him fitting in with the current show and maybe with him bring the surf club and the life guarding to more of a main role. Be nice for Alf's character too.

I seem to remember later in the episode Ailsa mentions it to Alf and says something to the effect that they should help Curtis but it never came up again so yeah, I generally assume it was Sam stirring.Curtis did get a happy ending going off into the sunset with his lookeylikey girlfriend and I'd be a bit wary of undermining that but he's got a link to Alf so he could work in the current show.

A lot would also depend on whether Shane Ammann is interested in acting. With his last role on imdb being Home and Away, it would be safe to assume that he probably is doing something else with his life.

I know Curtis is one of that group that seems to have been forgotten about by the general public, but I'd really like to see him return. He had quite a good relationship with Alf and Ailsa. I remember waiting with hope and anticipation that Blake and Curtis would come back for Ailsa's funeral (after they had brought back so many past characters in 2000) - so was plain disappointed by such a low key aftermath (on top of the disappointment in Ailsa's exit). Having said that, it would make sense that Curtis wouldn't return if he was messed up on booze (I thought it was dope that he had got into?).

It'd be cool if he came back thinking he was going to find Ailsa and Alf at the old Diner and ends up running into Maz who takes him over to see Alf. I've just presumed that somewhere during 1999, they lost contact with him completely.
