Whats with all the Romeo hate, everyone's saying Romeo needs to grow up but yet they say how much they love Heath (who Romeo has been acting like a Lille lately) I don't understand.

I think it was very wrong of Romeo to use Ruby to make himself feel better about the breakdown of his relationship with Indi, when Ruby was clearly very emotionally unstable. Although he was ready to take responsibility for the baby if Ruby had been pregnant, having discovered she was lying he has hardly been understanding of the fragile mental state which would lead her to such extremes.

Even I have warmed to Heath (a Braxton?! :o ), but that is because he is being written as a human being who makes mistakes. I find him quite a sympathetic character because he is trying to better himself, and provide a lifestyle for his children that he didn't benefit from.

I find Romeo to be a plank, used in certain situations to prop up other things but mostly dull and one dimensional. I wish he was more interesting. Definitely love him best when involved in the Walker family.

I think Romeo is certainly an unnatractive character at the moment and his current actions are quite silly. I think people are judging him on his actions over the last few months. Personally I don't think that is a reason to hate him. I'm prepared to look at his character in the longer term and hold out hope that he will improve. I can understand how some people would not be prepared to do that.

Heath has become much more interesting to date because we are seeing more dimensions to his character. He's no longer just the River Boy but is beginning to act as a father and a partner.

I find Romeo's character so pointless if he left the Bay tomorrow it wouldn't change a thing.

His maritial problems with Indi are so trivial now it's not even worth watching because they keep going round in circles. Romeo is just as bad as her on the level of 'I don't know what I want.' They can't seem to commit to either staying apart or staying together. Romeo has not helped things, hurting Ruby the way he did.

If it wasn't for him she wouldn't have cut the brakes on Indi's car, because he's a big reason that led to it.

He made Ruby feel worse just to feel better about himself. He's pretty selfish - i.e cheating on someone he susposedly loved/loves, sleeping with Ruby knowing full well he had no feelings for her, and ignoring her damaged state of mind. When he came into the bay he secretly persuaded Annie, writing her poems, behind Jai's back, knowing all along that Jai wanted her back. Jai even asked Romeo for advice and stuff, but Romeo moved in, because again he's selish and only thinks of number one.

Sorry to be so negative, but I just don't like Romeo and never will. He doesn't show enough care and consideration for anybody but himself and puts his own importance first, i.e He didn't want to have a good job in a suit that put dinner on the table, he wanted to be a beach bum surfer. For me to lactually like a character they need to have that or some sort of redeeming quality.

Example: Ruby cut the brakes on the car.

Was that the right thing to do to get revenge? No.

Did she feel remorse/guilt afterwards? Yes. She gave herself up and confessed, despite the consequences. That shows that she's sorry, and even though it was very bad of her to do what she did and I don't condone what she did at all, very low thing to do, she was in fact extremely sorry and so full of guilt.

That to me shows more dimensions than a character like Romeo's and I can't wait until he leaves.

I'm not too fussed about him at the moment. As a long term character though he's still one of my favourites. I think mainly because he's always been one of the most kind hearted characters, but since his marriage break down he just seems to have been so consumed in grief that he hasn't really considered those around him, ie, Ruby. I can understand why he felt the need to be close to someone, and I remember Luke saying in an interview that he does love her in his own way, just not in the way she wants him too (obviously). Part of me thinks the developing romance between Indi & Liam is supposed to be a form of karma for him using Ruby, even if I can't envisage it lasting.

Although Indi & Romeo where always my favourite couple in the past I think the writers have played around with their relationship too much for me to really care anymore. As a couple they really get on my nerves. I think a big part of that is I like Indis charater when she's with her family but whenever she's dealing with her love life she just comes across as far too self involved and indecisive and I find it really off putting (and the same applies to Romeo). She comes across much better when she's single IMHO. The relationship just goes around in circles. In the last 6 months alone we've had Romeo upseting Indi by hanging out with Ruby, Indi cheating on Romeo to get back at him, Romeo then rebounding into Rubys arms and now Indi making eyes at Liam. In the real world surely all this would be too much to come back from? The constant merry-go-round is irritating and they need to make their minds up and split up for good or just sort things out, in which case they need to take things seriously and stop hopping into bed with other people when they have problems. Oddly enough though, I find Romeo more likeable when he's part of the family unit in the Walkers so their marriage is a bit of a catch 22 for me.

I've always thought it was a little unfair that people berated his ambitions to have a surfing career if I'm honest. Although I don't know much about the area athletes make a lot of money from pursuing careers in their given sports. Given we have always been led to believe Romeo is one of the best surfers around I see no reason why he wouldn't have gone on to do so had it not been for his knee. It's certainly something he seemed very committed too, but now he's got a bung knee and has to hold down a 9-5 job we may hopefully see some character development.

Why would anyone hate Romeo?Hmm, let me see:

*He persuaded Jai to send Annie anonymous love poems then took the credit for them

*He taunted Annie about how he was going to make her want him in a rather creepy manner

*He refused to work for John because he was a bit mean to him, preferring to take advantage of Miles' good nature, then went around claiming John was a wife beater

*He dismissed Xavier's concerns about Hugo being missing in a smug and arrogant manner

*He made no attempt to maintain contact with his sister or make sure she was all right while she spent two years in jail for a crime she didn't commit. Then, after spending all the time she was inside dossing around, he suddenly decided he wanted an education the moment she asked for his help.

*He constantly berated and belittled his mother, even while she was trying to stay sober, and broke up her relationship with John(ignoring Xavier's feelings in the process), whilst all the time acting the victim

*He spent months treating Indi like she was a second rate substitute for Annie and continually hurting her

*He threw away the education that was apparently more important than his sister in order to impress Indi. Then he threw it away again because Indi broke up with him and he wanted to sulk.

*He set Xavier up with Summer so he wouldn't have to deal with him missing April, causing trouble for Xavier and April's relationship in the process

*He had casual sex with Ruby knowing she was in love with him, then tried to get her to keep quiet about it when he realised Indi still wanted to go out

*He used Emily for sex to make himself feel better then humiliated her in public when she told people they were together

*He rushed Indi into marrying him the minute she was daft enough to take him back, purposefully keeping her away from anyone who might try to talk her out of it

*He told the police that Harvey had vandalised his boat on the flimsy evidence that Harvey took out some clients he had to cancel

*He gave money that Indi had earned to Mink behind her back

*He took up with Ruby, knowing she loved him and was scared of things going wrong again, purely in order to get back at Indi for having a new boyfriend, stole her mother's life insurance money in order to impress Indi and then tried to dump her so he could get Indi back. Then he treated her like the villain of the piece for lying to him while he acted the innocent victim and refused to accept responsibility for his actions.

*He started trying to sleaze onto Indi and worm his way back into her underpants the moment he broke up with Ruby, insisting he wanted her all along and abandoning his plan to let down the employer who'd given him a chance by just not turning up for work purely to look good in her eyes

Why would anyone like Romeo? In a way, he's the anti-Heath.Heath is someone who, on the surface, appears to be bad news but when you look deeper has a lot of good in him despite his flaws.Romeo acts like he's a good old boy who never does any harm when at heart he's a selfish, arrogant jerk who never owns up to his bad behaviour unless there's something in it for him.

Arrghh - USE SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't hate Romeo. I would say I don't particularly like him. I think at times he's an idiot and I don't think his character serves much purpose. I hated the way he shafted his so called best mate but that was a while back. I think he treated Indy like dirty although in saying that I didn't like the way she rubbed her liaison with Logan in Romeo's face that time. Unlike some of the posts in this thread, I actually liked that he slept with Ruby and dumped her because I really can't stand the girl. I actually don't think he deserves Indy and there's an argument she deserves better than Romeo but as I mentioned in the UK pace thread I hope they get back together so they can rub the relationship in Ruby's face. I think that's all Romeo's useful for now at the moment.

Sorry Slade. Wasn't thinking.

Edit: Fixed it now.
