Cheryl Braxton coming back for Rocco's funeral but you don't see her at the hospital when he was born and where was she when Casey was on trial. Lottie being so important to Harvey and then you never see her again. The older characters are used as extras. They pair up mismatched people and give us an endless cycle of break-up/make-up's and promote their couples as "power couples". The promos department is just as bad for always bigging up the storylines. The great storm should have been called a typical rainy day. The 'who will die' one was even worse because you knew it wasn't going to be anyone that you actually cared about. The sad truth is that TPTB just don't give a stuff about long term fans because there are the fans out there that lurrve the Braxton's and that is what is important to them.

I get the impression a lot of those who dislike the Braxton's thinks their fans are little young girls who don't deserve to have their opinion listened to over "long term fans"

I respect that people like the Braxtons' but they get far too much attention and screentime while the older characters have NO storylines of their own and dish out random advice to teenagers they have no form of friendship or relationship with. My problem is simply that H&A has (IMO) become a show without a vision and pathetic crime and petty relationship stories are being shoved in our faces.

My issues lie in the fact that TPTB are unable to see that the show has became biased towards them or if their attitude is to go by, even care.

I find the outrage amongst Braxton fans over points like this fascinating when they're getting exactly what they want from H&A. What about us? Jezz Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 I'm a big Braxton fan but I'm also a long-term viewer of the show and I love watching the Early Years of Home and Away as well. At the moment, it's obvious that this is the 'River Boy' era, but it won't last forever, trust me. The show goes through phases and the River Boys are currently at the centre of it. I bet you people were complaining about the Sutherland family as they were the forefront of the show between 2000-2004.
alexx Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 ^I think the difference with the Sutherland era is that other characters were still given dramatic storylines and engaging, but most importantly ongoing character development. Plus they didn't take over on a consistent basis.

Its not like Kirsty or Dani had some axe murderer enemies coming back for revenge every 5 minute like we seem to be getting with the Braxtons. I think it shows how uninterested they are a lot when they are developing storylines for the older cast and are only doing so to shut us up! Take Celias "gambling addiction" for example! Absolute drivel! I know lets drag an original character back for 5 minutes and just give them any old storyline to please long term fans, the same could be said for Pippa's 2009 return.... Not even mentioning Leah's exit last year! Pfft.... Louise Bowes and Lucy Addario are in heaven with all these teeny idiots tweeting them "omg heanca are sooo cute xxx" seriously ? They've got zero chemistry and for a couple who have endured so much they have the depth as a puddle! I dont think the shows as bad as it could be right now either though! All I'll say is roll on the day when Summer Bay is a Braxton free zone, it wont be a day too soon.
