beau_t Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 I understand where Sally is coming from, she's afraid Michael will replace Tom. I think Sally is also afraid that Michael will take Pippa away from her. Sally and Pippa have grown especially close since Tom's death. Sally's constant asking if Pippa was back yet was like a child-like fear that she wasn't coming back. Which is quite normal for someone in Sally's position who has lost so many parent figures. And her words to Michael to "leave her alone, I don't like you and I don't want you going anywhere near her". Sounds more like she is being very protective of Pippa, rather than worrying about him as a Tom replacement (though I'm sure that's a part of it too, but we've already had weeks of Pippa worrying about replacing Tom, I don't think the writers are going to focus on that again). Just to add - Pippa and Michael's theme is really beautiful. It's got that tinge of sadness which is very fitting for a widow and a divorcee finding love again.
Ryan Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 Isn't this the first of about 5 times they get rid of Floss and Neville's caravan.
beau_t Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Isn't this the first of about 5 times they get rid of Floss and Neville's caravan. I honestly don't remember what happens to it. But I think it's a shame that they got rid of it at all.
Ryan Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 I'm sure I've read somewhere it later catches fire, another storyline sees them sell it again I believe and then when Floss returns in 2000, there is this conversation. SUMMER BAY HOUSE FLOSS, PIPPA, SALLY, CARLY, FRANK, STEVEN and JACK are there. FLOSS The old van gave up the ghost up around Moreef or somewhere. PIPPA Ha. FLOSS And of course, the speed we had been travelling, there was quite a queue of cares behind us. PIPPA Aw, no. FLOSS Aw, yes. They went off in every direction. Whizzing into ditches, whipping across the other side of the road. How there wasn’t a major pile up, I will never know. Well, we finished up against a shingle bank, just up against, down by the creek and not a scratch on her. FRANK It’s a pity you didn’t have anyone videoing it. You could have made a fortune. FLOSS starts laughing. FLOSS Aw, it’s funny now, but it wasn’t at all funny at the time. I remember turning to Nev. Nev, I said. No more. You know girl, he said, I have just been thinking the same thing. CARLY So where’s the van now? FLOSS Aw, we sold it to a bloke who’s got a private museum. He stuck it in his front yard and he cons all the tourists into believing the area was first settled by gypsy’s.
beau_t Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 So, making the most of a continuity error here, we can assume whoever Pippa sells it to eventually sells it back to Floss and Neville!
Ryan Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 It actually makes me realise it's already 2 years since Floss and Neville left.
Natasha Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 So Bobby wants to play match maker with her father and Patricia? I really like Patricia, but seems too perfect-I mean she counseled a near stranger-Bobby without even trying. Pippa and the goat scenes were too funny. I miss that bouncy, fun music of present day Home and Away.
GameTime Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Great episode today, probably enjoyed it more than any ep over the past month or so. Matt and Adam finally hanging out and look what happens, absolute chaos. And I loved Matt's line, "Geez you wouldn't want to be dying around here everyone would walk all over you and leave you lying there". Gold!! And Patricia is great.
Blaxland 89 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 I am so pleased every one seem to really like Patricia.
Natasha Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 Loved Karen's line " Trust me" and Ailsa telling her she's starting to sound like Adam Cameron. My episode two days ago was cut short-did anyone else have the same problem? And I adore Patricia, so does everyone else in the Bay it seems. Hope she sticks around for awhile! A worthy replacement for Grant.
