Very odd. Either Five or the distributors are trying to disguise something. However I doubt there would have been a website URL advertised as early as 1997. My memory from ITV was that the closing caption shown resembled the one shown at the end of the Fisher and Marilyn episode from 1996.

Yeah website was pushing it but I just couldn't think of anything else that appeared that they'd want to hide....

I know it came about earlier than I'd expected when I was recently flicking through some old eps, both the website and an email address were there by 1999 (I was watching the Ailsa car crash ep incidentally which is tomorrow's online ep).

Having just checked a few, there is literally nothing on those endslides apart from the year it was made before then.

It wasn't bad continuity, he changed jobs after 6 months in the bay. I have vague recollections of the storyline, but I think it involved Will being wrongly accused of assault. Joel then set to work trying to prove that Will was innocent and in taking his evidence to Carter, he was convinced to rejoin the force. Natalie replaced Joel as the schools PE teacher.

Everyones saying about the cuts made towards the end of the closing, I'm a bit annoyed about this so decided to give 5 a ring this morning and I've had it confirmed by 2 staff members that nothing has been cut, there showing them the way they were given to them by the distributor, so it seems whatever is happening is going on at Seven's end.

How long a gap was there between the Nash's arrival in ep. one and the Teri Garner thing in ep.two? However long it was Gypsy had come round to living in the bay, as most young people seem to after initially hating it! The way Alf was speaking when he was telling Alsa Joel was back made it sound like he he'd been some kind of bad 'un and that was why some might not like him being back. Alf is starting to look like the 'today' Alf, thinning hair, starting to go grey. Don must have done a pretty good job with Joel if he had become a teacher himself. I had to smile at Joel having a go at Chloe and Kylie leaving the back door, not just unlocked, but wide open!!! People are still doing it aren't they.

Good interaction between Chloe and Kylie re Jesse, if only matters like that were always solved so easily in real life!

Sally does seem to have gone through the wars a bit over the years hasn't she, shot, stabbed, had cancer and hasn't she been kidnapped at some point? She certainly isn't little Sally anymore. Alf did a rubbish job of locking the front door allowing all those other people to come in and why didn't he think of writing a note earlier, Teri could have read it left and a trap set for when the gunman left.

Irene's naughty dream about Don, know what she means, you see the person the next day and you think they know you dreamt about them, horribly embarrassing , but totally illogical. To me Chloe was dreaming about James because him being Lachie's brother reminded her of Lachie.

I know Joel was only looking out for Tom, but I do think Teri should have said goodbye to him personally than through Joel.

Did we get any follow up on the hungry gunman? I guess someone talked him round.

Re the scene on the beach with Isobel and Rebecca I couldn't hear half of that they said due to the surf crashing away in the background! I'm with those who said Rebecca filled in Isobel about the family history off-screen. It would have been nice to hear Isobel's side of what happened between her and her husband (Don's dad), we only got his side and may have not realised the understanding his parents had. Did they reconcile in the end?

Irene's giving birth was pretty realistic, given the time it must have aired. Joey was certainly very cool about it, his time in the commune did come in handy. Did the cops help them get to the hospital in time?

Had to smile when Irene broke up Chloe and Selina's row by coolly mentioning there was something that needed more urgent attention. :D

I do so remember the commune fire, all those so-called cool folks running about like headless chickens while Joey, Irene, Jesse and ? just walked in and broke down the door to the cabin, then found Saul and Selina. As for him surviving the fire, one of those soap 'miracle escapes' Red! Sorry edward I always liked Jesse.

The closing credits at the then present time, were a bit freaky all that fading in and out.

:offtopic:

Btw what is this 7two everyone keeps mentioning?

7two is a digital tv channel in au that shows h&a early years.

Thank you.

The first episode was February and the second October, so 8 months.

Murray (the gunman - don't think we got a surname so hope it wasn't Jensen :P) hid out in the bush for where Sam and Hayley came across him, he held them there for a brief while, and whilst I don't remember the exact details offhand, he was eventually discovered and arrested.

I did try contacting 5 myself with no reply - the mystery thickens, I doubt we'll ever find out now if they're claiming they had nothing to do with it....
