Wow....ITV must have chopped this episode to ribbons as there's a lot more shots of Bobby in this version than in my old copy

That quick cutaway shot whilst Pip and Alf were in the store when Bobby exclaimed "Ailsa" wasn't there in the ITV version....and the main conversation between them cut away when Ailsa ran out the kitchen (after Bobby's first "No!"), we didn't see her going around the house to find Bobby saying "No" everywhere.

Edit: Not to mention the first scene after the adverts with Bobby having a go at her.....madness!

Edit again: They also cut out the shot of Jack finding his guitar on fire

This is around the time where the cuts on ITV started getting really silly. I think the show began to be seen almost as an extension of CITV and they obviously tried to slash it to make it accessible to a kiddie audience.

What I never understood is that several of the things Carlton edited out of Home & Away were happily broadcast in episodes of Crossroads in exactly the same timeslots! And produced by, er, Carlton. Couldn't make it up.

It's a shame ITV messed about with it so much towards the end which was surely a factor in its' downfall on the network. And a shame for ITV who have never had as big a daytime hit since.

Meant to mention earlier:Having both a Daniel Amalm and a Shane Ammann among the regular cast makes it awfully easy to get their names muddled up.

Yes, that and having a character named Shane. All very confusing.

The 1995 closing credits are the best ones they EVER have. Such a great variety of family/ friends/ general beach life. The shot of the little girl running and holding onto her hat is just adorable.

The little cutaway scene just after Bobby has emerged from the fridge was very creepy. The false 'happy smile' and her tone of voice as she greets "Ailsa" was like whoa... that's not Bobby, that's some evil demon creature pretending to be Bobby. I didn't realise that Hallucination-Bobby was so vile and taunting, in the ITV version, she actually seems really pleasant XD

Just goes to show how damaging ITV's cuts were, in that they were effectively changing storylines and altering people's perceptions of them. All these years the UK viewers have remembered those 3 tiny scenes with Bobby, not realising we were only seeing half of them - without any of the taunting and mindgames that were going on in Ailsa's head.
