Both episodes were great (if you can use that term for a much loved characters funeral). I did have the awful feeling Irene wasn't going to turn up until the very end as tends to happen. Her character certainly has changed a lot, but nice to see she hasn't lost her old fire when it comes to people she cares about. I think Damien may have been more pleased to see her as he was the youngest and had a rose tinted memory perhaps.

I had forgotten about Sophie had given Tamara up, albeit briefly. Was that Mary the same one she had all that trouble with later? I felt Pippa was a bit harsh, without disrespecting her, she hadn't had a baby at that age, alone, despite her and Michael being there for her, most of the care still fell on Sophie's shoulders. Good for Bobby helping her have a rethink.

I had to read up on how exactly Bobby died and it was just an accident, but I suppose Greg and Donald had to blame someone. Just as I was thinking 'will Morag turn up?' she did. I agree with beau_t James Morag has changed a hell of a lot, she still has her moments but is more approachable and tolerant of people than she was back then. Her estrangement from Bobby hurt her more than the Morag of then would have admitted to anyone else other than Alf. Her asking for a photo showed she had loved Bobby in her way. Her saying her funeral would only be attended by a few people certainly wouldn't apply now. Another thing that has changed is her hair colour, much preferred the deeper auburn that the dayglo orange it is now! I don't think Greg meant his comment unkindly, he just wasn't thinking clearly. I'm guessing the other little boy with Christopher was Duncan. The service was very moving and the flashbacks just right as they summed up the way Bobby had evolved from an angry young girl into a respected community member. That final scene was so lovingly done, after the little chat between Sam and Donald no other words were needed, just them lookign out to sea with Don's hand on Sam's shoulder.

I see Marilyn was missing from the opening credits, had she left again? I remember the ones with Sally and Fin Red, those hats looked disctinctly 60's to me!! Rather quick of them to remove Greg from the credits, couldn't they have had one with him, Don and Sam?

Would be nice to see Don and Morag together, I think Marilyn would take it well. It would be good to see Sam again, there are still a few people around from back in his day.

:offtopic: The guy who played Greg always reminded me of the late Steve Irwin.

Hello, Shannon. And Jack. And Curtis. And Angel. Hello Home & Away, mid-90's style.

The Bobby estrangement has been dug up once or twice. She wasn't named, but Martha dug it up in 2007 when she was seeing the guy with a wife and kids in the City, whose name I forget.

Jack is gorgeous but I don't want to watch too many episodes with him in - he's the spitting image of a boy I fell in love with and lets just say it didn't end well. :( I am intrigued by his character though.

I can't say I see that much similiarity between Belle and Bobby but then I've pretty much forgotten Belle's character now.

Weren't Shannon and Curtis as much of a golden couple as Shane and Angel? I find them a hell of a lot more appealing but then that is based on one episode. :D

It wasnt an accident! Adam was speeding and not only that, messing around and not looking where he was going!

Anyone else suddenly realised, by the way, how much Belle was basically a recycled Bobby, albeit with a slightly happier ending.

Absolutely not.

No, not really, I think that side of their relationship was pretty insignificant in their time in the bay. I always think that Golden Couples are almost defined by that relationship, as Shane and Angel were, and Alf and Ailsa to some extent. Angel and Alf just weren't/aren't the same without their spouses. Shannon was a standout character by herself.

Notice the paramedic in Dale's episode was a women from the department who found Viv's mum in 1990. She also played Justine's mum in 1999.

Also, wasn't Sarah a really lovely girl. Would like to see her back again, and hopefully do more then what she did in 2005.

Sarah is one of those underrated characters, like Karen, in my opinion.

To answer a question asked earlier on - the reason everyone was nice to Irene when she turned up is that she had turned over a new leaf the last time she left. After a lot of animosity between her and Pippa, and her kids, she finally agreed that they were better off with Pippa and that she needed to go and sort herself out before she could come and try to be part of their lives again. She left on good terms with everyone after a heartfelt apology. It's amazing how Lynne McGranger plays Irene exactly the way the previous actress did, right down to the accent and the mannerisms. She isn't so much playing Irene, as she is playing Jacqui Phillips playing Irene. Of course as we know she eventually makes the character her own.
