Dibble Investments Inc Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 This is off-topic slightly but does anyone remember Rory (from late '89)??? Could he have ended up as another member of the Fletcher's household (assuming that he never came into contact with sharks!!!)?? I think he actually had a strange chemistry with them all and deep down they all liked him....
Skylover Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 Personally I wouldn't have liked Rory to have stayed on. And I don't think it was ever the intention to make him a member of the Fletcher household and the reason I think this is because his story was quite short but I could be wrong. It was just another of those late 89 odd stories. In fact, thinking about it, I don't really rate 89 very much compared to 88 and 90.
GameTime Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Pippa is gone. It's funny because while I always though she was fine in her role, I never liked her thaaaaaat much, but over the last few months, especially after Tom died, I really started to like her a lot. Her strength after Tom's passing gave me even more appreciation for her and I'm sad that she's gone. Donald is fantastic, I really felt for him when he was telling Pippa how he felt, it was hard to watch, but very well done. I can't believe Pippa didn't realsie there were feelings from Donald's end. And lastly, enough of Jane already!!!!!!!!!!!!
Old H&A Fan Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Pippa is here at last! Jane's accusation that Grant has an "attitude to women in the police force" was totally out of order but is sadly typical of the bitchy, arrogant feminist radicals that give good women a bad name.
alexx Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Pippa just there chopping veg in the kitchen, wasn't how I remembered it - its cool to see because I missed this episode during the last repeat run, so it was the first time since 1990. I was always under the impression she walked into SBH with a basket talking about her parents or something. I wonder where that came from!
Dibble Investments Inc Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Pippa must be a Time Lord like Doctor Who....she's regenerated into a new self
Natasha Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 I love Grant, he's easily one of my favourites, but he needs to get rid of Jane. She's so irritating and annoying and she's meant to be a likable character. And Marilyn is such a delight, she's so funny without even trying.
beau_t Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 I haven't seen the episode yet but my first memory of recast Pippa is in a scene where she talks to Jane in the caravan park and Jane tells Pippa she's sorry to hear of Tom's death... which obviously doesn't make sense because Tom died ages ago before Jane came along, so that's another muddled memory from my childhood.

Grant is a good character but it's not too dissimilar to Henry in Neighbours. I feel like I'm watching Neighbours when Grant's scenes occur.....
Dibble Investments Inc Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 Is Adam's life just aimless?? Matt & Marilyn have jobs and at least some direction. Adam beach bums and seems to have no interest in anything, much less getting a job..... I can remember the spark in his eye when he talked to Sophie about studying to be a teacher....he would've made a great one too. I know his parents have passed on and his yacht was stolen but he's not motivated enough to do anything at the moment. If these tragedies had occurred in my life, I would've been doing my damnest to keep busy...
