Dibble Investments Inc Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Sometimes I wish it was 1990 again!!!
ryno_091 Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Opinions please - does anybody here watch H&A 2012 as well as H&A TEY or do you just watch TEY exclusively??? I'm interested to know what everybody watches.....I watch both but have a strong preference toward TEY, to the point where I consider 2012 to be inferior to 1990...... i watch both i prefer tey at the moment due to the fact that the show to me has lost the heart and soul of what it was origionlly about due to only having 1 tv at the moment i sit through 2012 at least till the end of next week that is and i honestly cant wait keep in mind though i havent seen the early years before given im 21 and only remember watching from 1999 onwards
alexx Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 I've also never been that much into weddings in soaps for the reasons Ryan gave - but I did like Carly and Ben's wedding. I just like Carly as a character in general, so it was nice to see her finally get married, since its obviously something that means a lot to her. I also liked her conversations with Ben's dad and Pippa/Bobby (Carly's theme slotted in really well in this episode too). I felt genuinely sorry for her when she was sat there in her bedroom. On a different note - the music played during the wedding is used again when Bobby and Greg get married. And it was great to hear the Fletcher theme - as soon as I hear that I immediately think of 1988 and Floss, Nev, Lance, Martin etc.
Ryan Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 And as far as we know, 22 years later they're still married, the longest partnership of any characters that join together on-screen.
dncllpyk Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 I loved seeing Carlys and Bens wedding for a second time. Sally looked so grown up as one of Carlys bridesmaids.

Yeah, Ben just can't keep his grubby hands off, it's like an unshakeable addiction that still holds today, while genuine marriages suffer breakdowns left, right and centre maybe because they got too smart for each other and realised they really aren't meant to be together. The whole Ben-Carly storyline is a farce, right from the beginning when he first started preying on Carly the very second he set foot in the Diner in Episode 482.

You really have something against Ben don't you? What Ryan said above is meant to be a good thing.
Ryan Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 Divorce does give me a certain Schadenfreude though.

It's more something against snobby Carly, but still Ben wouldn't let go and move on to another relationship. 22 years (especially in soap standards) is insane to be living with the one person. Wouldn't he get sick of Carly and her snobbish attitude a lot sooner??? It doesn't make sense! Why the hell should good people go through divorce and family breakups while snobs like Carly enjoy life-long, endless marriage??
