Bobby Forever Missed Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 Is Steven really dealing with Tom's death like he says he is? Its hard to explain he thinks he is dealing with it when really he seems to be avoiding the issue (Tom's death)
matty Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 That scene between Pippa and Sally broke my heart. So touching and poignant. On another note, does anyone know why Bobby is using the last name "Simpson". I thought that she'd have become rid of it for 1 or 2 reasons, being: 1. Didn't she become Morgan after marrying Frank? 2. Didn't she despise her adopted father Al?
beau_t Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking of.As I recall, it was a voiceover/diary entry when they were all sheltering from the latest natural disaster(tidal wave?), Justine had gone missing and nearly drowned and Donald reflected on how Pippa always seemed to assume the worst now because she was so used to it happening. Yes that's what it was - thank you! It was a cyclone by the way

Trudy Heine Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 I guess people deal with grief their own way. I don't think Tom's death has hit Pippa yet. I guess I worded this wrong. Anyway, Sally is fast growing up. I loved the scene when she finally got Pippa to cry over Tom. Such a sad scene. Is Steven really dealing with Tom's death like he says he is? She does this again in 1996 when michael dies. However 10 years after that pippa gets to tell sally to cry over flynn. Ironic of pippa, yet so sweet
Steveland Cleamer Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 What do you mean "people deal with grief their own way"?? Does that mean people act in all sorts of different and strange ways instead of the usual way, like crying?? Many people do react differently to death. It also depends if the death was sudden or expected, and how close they were to the person who died. Pippa also reacts this way when Michael dies, and Alf points out she was the same with Tom. In both cases Sally is the one who finally gets Pippa to grieve. I know of a family who recently lost their son under tragic circumstances. While the father is understandably a complete mess, the mother is out and about going about her business almost as if nothing has happened. A few people have commented that this is odd behaviour for a recently bereaved parent, but I was reminded of this lady when watching Pippa's scenes last week. On another note, a Doctor Who-obsessed friend of mine joked that Pippa is so traumatised by Tom's death it's caused her to regenerate.
Skylover Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 Who is the next cast departure? Debra Lawrence's arrival is fast approaching.
Ryan Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 Viv Pippa#1 Emma Grant Steven Carly Ben Matt Marilyn Sophie Bobby Adam Ailsa Fisher Sally Alf Is the order the current cast leaves.
Skylover Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 Thanks Ryan. Did you compile that list off the top of your head?
Ryan Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 Thanks Ryan. Did you compile that list off the top of your head? In terms of the order they leave, yes, but I did look at the current set of opening credits to make sure I hadn't left anyone out (which I had in Marilyn).
