Good that everyone was happy for Liam.

I sat down on Liam’s lap. We were sitting in a classroom in our lunch hour.

“I wish that Emily and Rebecca and the other girls would walk in and see us like this” Liam said.

I sighed. “Have they done something else?”

“No not exactly. They just keep looking at me and whispering amongst themselves. It is really uncomfortable” he said.

“Aw poor baby” I said. “Hey your wish might be happening. Emily’s headed this way”

“Kiss me then” Liam said.

We started kissing. Emily walked in. “What is going on in here?” she asked.

“Emily hi” I said.

“No. Don’t say hi to me. I can’t believe you are kissing my boyfriend” Emily said. She locked the door.

“Um Emily what are you doing?” I asked.

“I’m not letting you out until he admits that he is my boyfriend” she said.

Liam looked at me. “Emily I’m not your boyfriend. I don’t know where you got that idea from. I am not in love with you, never have been and never will be. See this lady right here she is my wife and I’m in love with her”

“No your wrong” Emily said.

“I’m not wrong” Liam said.

“Yes you are” Emily started to scream.

I could see Gina trying to get in the room.

“You are wrong, so wrong. I know you love me” she screamed.

“That is not true” Liam said.

I slowly moved towards the door. I almost managed to turn the lock but she stopped me.

“No you are not leaving” she insisted.

“Emily please you have to stop this” I said my hand still on the lock.

“No I’m not stopping anything” she turned to Liam. “I’m in love with you and I know your in love with me not her”

“Emily no. That is not true” Liam insisted. “I am in love with her. Very much in love with her. You have to see that”

Emily moved away from me and closer to Liam so I opened the door.

Gina had walked away but I could see her down the hall. “Mrs Palmer” I called. She walked towards me.

“What is it?” she asked.

“We have a problem” I said. I lowered my voice. “Emily is in there with Liam and she is under some impression that he is her boyfriend and that she is in love with him”

“That’s just great” Gina muttered. She walked into the room.

And what we saw shocked even me. I frowned. I did not like what I was seeing.

Gina shut the door. “Emily get off him now” she said.

“No you can’t make me. He is my boyfriend” She began kissing him. Liam wasn’t kissing her back but he was struggling to get her off him.

I saw Miles standing out in the hall so I got him to come in.

“We have a situation” I whispered.

“Mr Copeland can you please see if you can get her off him gently” Gina said.

“I’ll try” he replied.

After a few attempts he finally succeeded in getting Emily off Liam, she was holding onto him for dear life. I looked at Liam. I could tell he was shocked, annoyed and uncomfortable.

“I’ll take Emily into my office” Gina said dragging her out of the room.

“Babe” I said once they had left. I looked at Miles worriedly.

“I’m okay” Liam said shakily.

“Are you?” Miles asked. “Cos you don’t look it”

“It was very um I just don’t even know” Liam said.

I sat back down on his lap and gave him a kiss.

“Hold me” He whispered in my ear. I put my arms around him.

“I’ll leave you two alone” Miles said.

“Thanks mate for helping” Liam said.

“No worries. I know you’d do the same for me”

Liam nodded.

I looked in Liam’s eyes. “You’re still freaked out aren’t you?” I asked.

“Yeah I just kept thinking if I had been in the room by myself… what would she have done?” Liam said.

I nodded. “Don’t think that way though”

“She attacked me practically” Liam sighed. “I hope I don’t have to quit”

“Why would you quit?”

“Baby if she can do this then I’m sure the other girls are quite capable. I know they are not her but I’m at a loss as to why it’s happening. Is it because I’m getting to be successful or what? It’s just unfair”

“I don’t know why it’s happening baby. I really don’t” I said. “I wish it would stop. It’s really getting to me”

Liam sighed. “Baby I know it’s getting to you and I hate that”

A knock interrupted us and Gina walked in.

She looked at us. “I gave Emily a week suspension”

“Only a week?” Liam asked.

“Yeah” Gina said. “Plus I had to report this to the School Board”

“Why?” I asked. “It’s not Liam’s fault”

“I know but I had to follow protocol. I’m sorry” Gina said.

Liam sighed. “Shall I just quit now then?” He asked. “Save all the hassel”

“I don’t want you to quit” Gina said.

“But how do we know this won’t keep on happening”

“We don’t know” Gina said. “But we are dealing with it. I don’t want to lose you cos you are a good teacher”

“See babe” I said.

“I don’t want to quit either Gina. I need to have this steady job. I have to support Bianca, April and I love teaching the kids” Liam sighed. “So when is the School Board coming?”

“Tomorrow” Gina replied.

“That soon?” I asked.

“I don’t know if I have a hope. I don’t have a degree or anything, I’m not fully qualified and I have a singing career, they’ll just ask me why do I need this job since I’m successful elsewhere”

“You just tell them what you just told me. That you love teaching the kids, that you want to have a steady job and you have people to support” Gina replied.

“Anyway I think I’ll just go home now. I don’t have any more classes” Liam said.

“I have one more class” I said.

“I know. Don’t worry. I’ll see you at home” He gave me a kiss and left.

I sighed. “How do you think it’s going to go tomorrow?” I asked Gina.

“Honestly, I don’t know Bianca. I mean it could go either way. It would have been more helpful if he did have a degree but he has been teaching for some time now so I think that would help some” She said.

“Okay. I think the next couple of days will be tough” I said.

“Oh right. You’ve got the court case in three days. I’m sorry Bianca I really didn’t mean to make this more tough” Gina said.

“I know” I replied.

Oh boy, Emily is completely crazy and I don't think a week's detention is going to change that.Hope Liam doesn't get into any trouble over this.

I called Liam after my last class but he didn’t answer which I thought was odd because he always answers my calls. I went home but he wasn’t there. I checked Angelo’s, the Surf Club, the Beach, the Bait Shop. I ran to the diner hoping that he was there.

“Have you guys seen Liam?” I walked into the kitchen.

“No love” Irene said.

“Not today” Leah replied.

“No me either. Is something wrong pet?” Colleen asked.

“I um not sure” I said. I called his phone but got his voicemail again. “He isn’t answering his phone”

“Okay, there is something you aren’t telling us. What happened?” Irene asked.

“Emily is what happened. She has convinced herself that Liam is her boyfriend. She locked us in the room with her at School and kept on kissing him. She wouldn’t let him go. Miles had to get her off him”

“And now you can’t find Liam” Leah said.

“I’ve looked everywhere” I said panicked.

I rang his phone again. I stepped out of the kitchen.

“Darl, what is it?” Irene asked.

“I can hear the ringtone” I said.

“I’m sure lots of people have the same ringtone” Irene said.

“No, he made it himself of him singing” I said. “Only he has it”

“I’ll check outside” Irene said. She came back a few minutes later. “That Emily girl and her friends are out there”

I went outside and rang the phone again. I noticed Emily holding it in her hands.

“Hi girls” I said casually.

“Hi Mrs Murphy” some replied.

“Um Emily where’d you get that phone from?” I asked.

“Oh Mr Murphy gave it to me” She said smugly.

“I don’t think so” I said.

“Yes he did” she insisted.

“Emily where is Mr Murphy?” I asked.

“I have no idea. Why are you asking me?”

“I know you know something so please just tell me” I said trying not to sound frustrated.

“I know nothing” she insisted.

“Don’t make me call the cops” I said.

“Why would you do that?”

“Because I can’t find him and it’s not like him to just disappear. Emily he is my husband and I want to know where he is” I said.

“Is there a problem out here?” Charlie appeared by my side in her uniform.

“No there’s no problem” Emily answered.

“I’ve been told that Liam Murphy has been MIA these last few hours. It isn’t like him” Charlie said.

“Emily please just tell me where my husband is” I pleaded desperately.

Emily fell quite.

I turned to Charlie. “Who called you anyway?” I asked.

“Irene” she answered. “Don’t worry Bianca we will find him”

“Emily please. I need to know where he is. Please, please you have to tell me”

“Emily if you don’t want a police record then tell us where he is now” Charlie said. “You can see that Mrs Murphy is very worried”

“Okay. I know where he is” Emily finally admitted.

“Where?” Charlie asked.

“I locked him in the janitor’s office at School” she said.

“Why did you do that for? You know that room has no windows” I shreaked.

Charlie gave me a look that told me to be quite. “Do you have the keys?” Charlie asked.

She gave them to her.

“And I want his phone too” Charlie said. She gave his phone to me. “I will be speaking to you later Emily”

“Can’t you make this car go faster” I screamed at Charlie.

“Bianca you need to calm down” she said.

“I’m sorry but anything could happen. He has been stuck in such a small room with no windows for a couple of hours”

“I know Bianca I know”

“Just please please hurry. I just want my husband” I said.

“I know” she said.

We got to the School and found that the front door was locked.

“OMG” I panicked. I tried to kick the door open. “Ow” I said hopping about.

“I’ll call Gina” Charlie said.

I started pacing up and down.

“Gina will be here in 10 minutes” Charlie informed me. “I have also called Sid in case he is needed”

“Thanks” I said.

Charlie gave me a hug.

“I’m sorry I screamed at you” I said.

“It’s okay. I can handle it” Charlie replied.

“No you’re here helping me and I’m being a bitch to you. I’m really sorry”

“Bianca I know you just want Liam back. Don’t worry I’d act the same way if anyone took Joey from me” she said.

“No you wouldn’t. You would act all calm and you wouldn’t be a bitch” I sighed. “What is taking them so long?” I grumbled.

“They are on there way you know that” Charlie said.

“I know but they are being so slow. Like really slow… what?” I interrupted myself.

“Nothing, nothing at all” Charlie smiled.

I sighed. “I know I’m being a bitch again right?”

“Kind of” Charlie replied.

I sat down on the ground. “I honestly have no idea why you guys put up with me” I said.

“We love you, you dork” Charlie said.

I smiled. “I just really hate being so helpless. I just want to get in there and get him out”

“Well here they come so we can get in there now” Charlie said.

Gina and Sid came at the same time and Gina opened the door straight away. Charlie and I ran to the Janitor’s office with the others close behind.

“Liam” I screamed as I reached the door. “I can’t hear anything”

“Liam it’s Charlie are you okay?” Charlie asked.

We still got no answer.

“We need to make sure he is away from the door” Charlie said.

“Liam” I screamed as loudly as I could banging on the door.

“Bianca” I heard his faint voice.

I sighed with relief.

“We’re unlocking the door now Liam so back away if you are close to it” Charlie said.

“Okay”

“Bianca just let me access him before you see him” Sid said.

Charlie got the door open and Sid walked in. They came out a couple of minutes later.

“So?” I asked Sid.

“He is okay. Just needs to rest and have lots of fluid” Sid said.

“Oh thank god” I said. I walked over to Liam and gave him a huge hug.

“Here Liam” Gina handed him a bottle of water.

“Drink it slowly” Sid advised.

“Okay” Liam said.

Charlie gave us a ride back home.

“Thanks Charles” I said.

“No worries” She said. “Look after him”

I smiled. “I will don’t worry”

We walked in the house. Liam collapsed on the couch.

“Aw babe” I said giving him a glass of water. “Are you okay?”

“Yeah I’m okay baby” he said. “I was really getting worried for a bit there but I knew you’d come get me”

“Sorry I took so long” I said.

“Don’t be sorry” he said. “I was thinking about you the whole time. I thought that if I didn’t make it…”

“No babe don’t” I interrupted.

“Baby, I know that if I didn’t make it you would be okay” he said.

“Are you kidding? I won’t be okay. I would never be okay” I said.

“Yes eventually you would be okay” he said. “You have your sister, Irene, Alf, Charlie, Leah everyone would make sure you were fine. That’s what I was thinking”

I sighed. “Babe, I love you so so so much” I said.

Liam smiled. “I know baby, I love you so so so much too” he said.

I kissed him.

“Want to watch tv?” he asked.

“Yeah sure” I replied snuggling up to him.

We woke up the next morning on the couch.

“I think the bed is much more comfortable” I said stretching.

“Yeah” Liam sighed.

“It will be okay. You did nothing wrong” I said.

“I know that baby but I just can’t help thinking that it won’t go the way that I want it to go” he said.

I went into the bedroom and pulled out one of his suits.

“Here wear this” I said.

“I hate wearing suits” he grumbled.

“I know but it will make you look more professional” I said.

“Yeah I guess” he said.

We walked into School holding hands.

Gina met us in the hall. “Are you ready?” she asked.

“Yes” he replied.

The students were wondering what was happening.

“I know you want to come in Bianca but they only want to speak with Liam” Gina said.

I sighed. “Okay. I’ll be standing outside the door then” I gave him a kiss. “Goodluck. Not that you really need it”

“Thanks baby” He replied.

He and Gina walked in the room and closed the door. I stood outside trying to eavesdrop.

“Sis what’s happening?” April asked. “Everyone is saying that Liam is getting in trouble”

I looked around at the other students standing close by.

“He isn’t in trouble. This shouldn’t be happening at all” I said annoyed.

“So what happened?” Dex asked.

“I would like to tell you but I don’t think I should” I said.

“Is it to do with Emily? We know she got suspended” Xavier said.

“Guys” I said frustrated. “I’m not going to say okay? I appreciate the concern but right now my husband is fighting for his job and I can’t even be with him in there so just let me listen”

“What’s going on? Everyone’s talking about Liam” Ruby came up to us.

“Ruby” I exploded.

“Come on you guys let’s just go” April said. She gave me a hug.

“What’s going on?” Ruby asked April as they walked away.

“To be honest I’m not really sure” April said glancing back at me. I gave her a faint smile.

It was really lucky that everyone cleared out when they did because I heard Liam starting to talk really loudly. I knew he was getting mad.

“Look I love this job, I love teaching these kids music. This wasn’t my fault at all and I don’t understand why it’s happening. I’m not encouraging it because I have a wife who I’m madly in love with and I need to support her and her sister and well I just don’t want to quit” he said.

“Don’t you have a successful singing career?”

“Yes but just because I’m successful elsewhere doesn’t mean I can’t be successful here too” Liam said.

“Liam’s a good teacher. The students really like him as a teacher and they do really well in his class” Gina said.

“Okay I understand that you’re a good teacher Liam but you’re not properly qualified so until you are properly qualified you can’t teach”

“He’s been teaching for over a year…. Doesn’t that help?” Gina asked.

“It is good experience. But he still needs a degree. I’m not changing my mind on this. I’m sorry Liam but if you want to teach again you need to get a degree. I’ll see myself out”

The door opened and the board member walked out.

I walked in and put my arms around him.

“Well I guess that’s that” he said.

“Liam I can help you get a degree” Gina said.

“Babe I know you want to teach. I can help you study” I said.

“You’d both really help me?” Liam asked.

“Yes of course” Gina replied. “I wasn’t lying when I said you are a good teacher Liam. I’d hate to lose you completely”

“You know I’m here for you babe I’d do anything for you” I said.

“Okay well how do I begin?” Liam asked.

“Don’t worry, I’ll sort it” Gina said.

“Thanks Gina” he said.

“I feel this is partly my fault. I probably shouldn’t have got the board involved”

“It’s okay, you were just following the rules” Liam said. “I guess I’ll go home then”

“I’ll come around later with the details” Gina said.

“Yeah thanks” Liam replied.

“I’ll see you at home. I love you” I said.

“Love you too” he said giving me a kiss.

I sighed. “That didn’t go very well” I said as he left.

“I know Bianca” Gina replied.

“Isn’t there some course he can do that accepts his experience and can make the course shorter?”

“I’m sure there is. I’ll look into it okay?”

“Yeah so what now? You have to tell the kids what happened. They’ve been asking” I said.

“I will tell them. Don’t worry Bianca just leave it to me okay? Stop stressing out” she said.

“I know but it’s just not fair that he has to be out of a job that he loves”

“I know I’m doing all I can okay? I don’t know what else to tell you”

“Well I can tell you that this sucks. I don’t know how Emily can only get a weeks suspension while Liam loses his job. Its very unfair”

“I agree” Gina replied.

The other teachers including Miles and Regina walked in.

“What’s going on?” Miles asked.

“Liam can’t teach until he gets his degree” Gina said.

“What, why?” Miles replied.

“The School Board found out he doesn’t have a degree. I guess they looked at his file. I called them in over this Emily business cos I had to follow protocol. So now we are out of a music teacher until further notice”

“Where is Liam now?” Regina asked.

“Home. When he should be here. It is not fair. He is a victim in this. He could have died yesterday in that tiny room with no windows. And now he is out of a job. I am so angry right now” I said.

“I think that’s a bit extreme Bianca. He wouldn’t have died” Gina said.

“No? What if I didn’t find him until the next morning” I fumed.

“You need to calm down Bianca” Gina said.

“No stop telling me to calm down. I am angry really angry. I had to watch him get hit on by a student. Do you know how disgusting that was? And now this job has been taken from him” I said. “Look I can’t take this any more I’m going to go home and be with him”

“What about you’re classes?” Gina asked. “You have two more”

“I’m really not up for it can’t you tell? Just say I’m sick and you take the classes”

“That is being a bit unprofessional” Gina said.

“Yeah but” I stopped talking as my phone rang. “Hi Morag I’m in the middle of something can i… “

“Bianca I just got word that your mother and Vittorio have taken Daniel back to Italy”

“What do you mean they’ve gone back to Italy, the court case is tomorrow” I said angrily.

“I got a call from their lawyer. Bianca I’m sorry but the case has been dropped”

My heart sunk. “The case has been dropped?” I repeated stunned.

“Yeah, I tried everything I could think of but I can’t do anything Bianca it’s out of my hands now” she said. “I’m so sorry”

I sighed. “Okay well thanks for your help Morag” I said.

“It’s okay” she said. “I’ll speak to you later”

“Yeah bye” I said disconnecting the call.

Gina walked over to me. “Are you okay?” she asked. “I know how important that case was to you”

I shook my head and burst into tears. She put her arms around me.

“Everything is messed up” I said pulling away. “I can’t deal with this right now, I need to go home”

“Yeah go. I’ll take your classes” Gina offered.

“Thanks” I replied. “Can you tell April to come to my house when School finishes”

“I’ll tell her. I have her in my last class”

“Thanks Miles” I said. “I’ll um see you all later” I grabbed my stuff and headed for home.

Oh, wow.Everything really is messed up.Surely something's got to happen to Emily now.Can kind of understand why Liam lost his job but it's going to be hard on him, at least he's picking himself up and trying to get a degree.And the court case has gone south as well.Looking forward to seeing where you take it!

“Hey baby Morag called me” Liam said immediately as I walked in.

I sat down on the couch next to him. “I just… it’s so unfair. All I wanted was to see Daniel. Now I can’t even do that”

“Yeah” Liam said. “Today has been the worst day huh?”

“Yeah I feel like the world is against us today” I said.

“And neither of us did anything to deserve it” Liam said.

“April is going to be crushed” I said.

“Yeah” he said. “I know one thing that will make me feel a little better”

“Oh yeah and what’s that?” I asked.

He kissed me. “You know what” he grinned taking off my top.

I smiled and took off his jacket and shirt.

“Are you guys going to tell me what’s happening?” April asked an hour later. “I know something is really wrong. Mrs Palmer said you can’t teach anymore”

“Not until I get a degree at least” Liam said.

“That’s stupid. You are a really good teacher” April said. “What did Emily do?”

Liam sighed. “She locked us in a room and she started kissing me, she was saying that she was in love with me and thought that I was her boyfriend. I couldn’t get her off me, I’m not sure why. Miles had to come and get her off”

“God, that’s disgusting” April replied. “And you were in the room?”

“Yeah I was. It was sick to watch” I said. “But that’s not even all that’s happened’

“What else has happened?” April asked.

“Mum & Vittorio have taken Daniel back to Italy. Morag got a call from their lawyer. There is nothing else she can do. The case is off” I said.

“That sucks” April fumed. “This is all so unfair”

“I know” I replied.

“I guess you guys have had a sucky day huh?” April said.

“Yeah pretty much “ Liam replied. “I’ll get the door” he said.

“If you’ve come to tell me that I was really unprofessional today then you can just go back to where you came from” I said.

“No. I’ve come to check if your all alright” Gina replied.

“Oh” I said.

“We’ve been better” Liam replied.

“Look I am sorry about the way I spoke to you today” I said. “It really wasn’t very professional of me”

“It’s okay Bianca I would have done the same” Gina said.

I smiled. “I doubt that” I said. “I am a bitch not you”

“You aren’t a bitch Bianca, not always anyway” Gina replied.

I laughed.

“Anyway I’ve done some research and there is a 6 month course you can do at the Uni Liam. It takes into account all the experience you have had” Gina said.

“That’s pretty good only 6 months” I said. “And you can go to Uni with Indi & Nic”

“Yeah that’s better then what I thought it was going to be” Liam said.

“Well I’ve got the paperwork here” Gina handed it to him.

“Thanks Gina” Liam said.

“No worries” she replied.

“Um Mrs Palmer is Xav at home?” April asked.

“Yes he is. Do you want a lift?” she asked.

“That’d be great” April said.

“Let’s go to the diner” Liam suggested after they both left.

“Okay” I agreed.

We walked to the diner and sat down.

Indi came over to us. “Do you guys know what you want yet?” she asked.

“No but maybe you and Nic can show me around the Uni tomorrow” Liam said.

“Why would we do that? I mean yeah we can but why?” Indi replied.

“Well starting after the holidays I’m going to be a Uni student” Liam answered.

“What, how come?” Nicole asked joining us.

“The School Board says I can’t teach until I have a degree. Gina found one that I can do for 6 months”

“Oh that sucks” Nicole said. “But that’s awesome that you are coming to Uni with us. Everyone is going to go mental. A famous rockstar at Uni”

Liam laughed. “Cool, so you’ll show me around?”

“Yeah of course” Nicole replied.

“And hey do me a favour and keep the girls away” I grinned.

“I don’t think that’s possible but we’ll try” Indi laughed.

“Why don’t you come with us Bianca?” Nicole asked. “Non students are allowed on campus”

“Alright. I will” I said.
