thanks for the info Dan, and do you know the episode number of the finale this year? very interesting avatar as well, not a spoiler for next year eh?!

Oh god I hope not. Pippa was awful in her last visit (no fault of Debra's, I should add).

I believe they were referring to my previous avatar

yeah don't worry beau_t that comment was made at a time when Dan's avatar was Bobby coming out of the fridge door!

Damn. I was hoping for some good repeats. I'm losing interest in the show at the moment so some classic episodes would've cheered me up a bit, I think.

As already mentioned slightly disappointing in one sense but I actually don’t mind they aren’t showing any episodes. Although I still make an effort to watch Home and Away I’m not as into it as I was previously so it does give me a chance to catch up with some of the other TV shows I’ve been watching and am really enjoying at the moment. Still I wouldn’t have minded seeing some repeats from the 2001-2004 era.

I'm in Australia so don't know how it works for you guys. We get a season final and 2 month break. So the season final is just another episode for you guys? And if you have only a month break now, do you have another month later? And lastly, can you watch ahead online or not?

Yes, we tend to have a break in December, wherever the show's up to at the time. For the last two years, it's been three weeks before the finale. Then we get the finale round about January time and the next episode the following week. This year we had a five week break in August because up until then we were only a week behind the Australian transmissions. The breaks seem to be getting longer and longer as the gap gets shorter and shorter:At one point, when we were about three months behind, you only had a couple of two week breaks a year.

And yes, a lot of UK-based fans do find alternative means of watching the newer episodes

I am not bothered about the fact there are no decent repeats because I dont even watch them. I just record Xmas films and watch them!

with the confirmation that the 2011 season will start in Aus on the 24th of January with episode 5216, that means we will be 10 episodes (two weeks) behind, which isn't so bad.

thinking about it, i'm glad Channel 5 haven't just mindlessly thrown together 40 episodes to fill a months break from transmission of current episodes. it would be nice however if we had a 3 week break, and then just before the return, a week of really well-chosen episodes all centred around a classic storyline/character?
