Penn = worst character ever

Actually I quite liked Penn and his early interractions with Bay residents. Even the premise is not too bad. The whole storyline has been ruined though by being drawn out for far too long and being advanced at far too slower pace.

I too quite like Penn and his presence on the show, even though I have yet to see the real reason for his arrival in the Bay (UK). But I don't think it has been drawn out too long. He isn't in most episodes and when he is I don't find his presence too overbearing. I have found his slow manipulation of the residents fascinating, although we've already seen Nicole in a relationship with 'the' bad-boy no one else understands, when she was with Elliot.

And although I thought it was great drama, I found Penn deliberately leaving a needle in the sand for Nicole to stab her hand with really disturbing. It seems he has a real reason to hate some of the residents, which isnt always the case with H&A baddies! I just hope it lives up to my expectations

I agree. Although, honestly.. Ive not really payed attention to Penn and why he's in the Bay. Ever since he planted that needle in the sand I've completley gone off him. Im curious to see how this storyline will go though.

Haha no worries I was only joking! Assuming everyone on this thread is watching at UK pace, what do you guys think is going to happen with him next?

"Worst character ever" may be an exaggeration, I guess he's no better or worse than the many other characters that have come to town purely to cause trouble for some reason or other.I was mildly interested when he first turned up but got a bit bored when he turned into yet another bad boy for Nicole to be inexplicably attracted to.It has been dragged out a bit and having a break in the middle of the storyline in the UK hasn't helped.The fact he isn't in every episode has possibly added to the ennui, you get a week without him and then it's "Oh yeah, are we still supposed to be wondering about that guy?"I suspect when we do get the revelation it'll inevitably be an anti-climax.And frankly so far, at UK pace, he hasn't really progressed beyond being a petty nuisance.

I certainly don’t think he’s the worst character ever. At first I thought Penn had a function on the show when I saw him writing letters to his dad. At times the level of lying, deceit and manipulation was so bad I found it funny. There was one specific episode where every time someone challenged him and accused him of lying he accused that person of doing the same thing. Then the writers just seemed to drag the whole thing out and it was difficult trying to ascertain what his actual purpose was. I think there were hints that he had a grudge with someone but no real idea why. Since the reveal, I’m enjoying him as a bad guy now. I actually quite like the lying manipulation and mind games. I love the effect he has one people whenever he leaves the room. Take last week firstly Miles, Romeo and Indy then Leah, Ruby and Nicole in the Diner. Just look at the fear in their faces. I loved the conversation with Miles when he claimed he was prepared to forgive and forget then when Miles told Penn he didn’t believe him was brutally honest telling them he had to fight the constant urge to harm all the people close to Alf. He hasn’t really done anything that bad but I have the feeling this is the calm before the storm.
