alexx Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 I still think that 1989 suffered with the loss of Bevan Lee. I only wish that he'd had more involvement in Home and Away over the years, because every time he is involved, the show is flawless. His writing is brilliant, he knows the characters inside ou, and I believed in almost everything that happened in the episodes that happened during his time on the show. I agree with this. Also the overall 'tone' is different in 89 than 88. I must say I prefer 88 over 89, Andrews 1988 promo/montage on Youtube pretty much sums up why I prefer 88 but that isn't to say I dont really enjoy watching the 'current' episodes, far from it - but I just prefer the 'feel' of the show in 88. I do believe that 'feel' returns somewhere in 1990-onwards. I also agree with you guys about Pippa, I couldn't remember it from the first run but she hasn't been as likable in the 1989 episodes, not as 'cool'.

Colleen is right about Martin being a bad friend he sent that delivery guy after Lance telling him he was Martin. Best friends don't do that to eachother.
Ryan Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 It's arguable that Marilyn has 4 stints as a main character, trying to work out whether she actually left and was asked back etc or whether they always intended for her to return.
dncllpyk Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Didnt she come back in 1992 for awhile? I only started watching Home & Away in 93 I think. Which is why I love seeing the old episodes on 7two. When they were on in 99 in the mornings on seven for an hour my mum used to tape them for me and my sisters while we were at school. I think they came back on from were they left off in early 2000 for the tennis it took a couple of months though and it was on in the afternoons after school. I used to love it coz ten run the old Neighbours in the afternoons after school at 330 then Home and Away was on at 430 on channel 7
