beau_t Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 I dont remember much about 1990, but thinking about the cast of that year (everybody who leaves and all the newcomers) and trying hard to think of any decent storylines from that year and failing miserably, I am not looking forward to 1989 ending. I'm just making the most of it (and Morag as a main character) while it lasts.
Ryan Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 I have to say that I'm struggling as well. I can think of one death and the rest I'm struggling with. I'm sure it might turn out better once we go from episode to episode, but compared to 1989, when I was looking forward to two major arcs, the Dodge arc, and Bobby's parentage, 1990 doesn't have the same pull for me.
beau_t Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Sorry for going off topic but what scene is your avatar from Ryan
Ryan Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 It's just after the diner burns down in 2000.
alexx Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Yes that is when Ailsa says 'Bobby and I built that business up' or something along those lines. Its a good scene. I'm looking forward to watching 1990 play out again becuase I haven't seen that year from start to finish since it originally aired. I have a week of Early Years to catch up on so I'll be back with my comments later...
Ryan Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 It is also basically the same avatar I've had for almost the past 4 years, it's just had a spruce up.
English Invader Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Add 260 episodes on and it feels like a different show this time next year. Emma will have been and gone. Tom Fletcher dies in 160 episodes. It may sound a bit morbid, but I'm quite eager to reach that stage because it was around that time when I started watching Home and Away as a kid and it'll be great to see the bits I remember, the bits I don't and the bits that suddenly come back to me after twenty years. Certainly, it's been great to see Home and Away build up right from the very beginning.
Skylover Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 How long did that montage of Maz/Martin/Lance at the photoshoot last! It seemed like it went on for half the episode I'm really enjoying the episodes at the moment, though Viv annoys me a bit with how she can't seem to relax. It's becoming increasingly evident that Matt serves no purpose whatsoever. I loved the scene between Sally and Ailsa the other night. Ailsa's definitely the matriarch of the show in 88-89, she seems like someone you could easily go to for advice.
Ryan Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 Do we see the New Macklin offices again? Seems a bit of a waste if they get used for just a months worth of storylines.
