Yeah, when I said "do away", I was referring to the original airings. I just found it bizarre that there's a block in the shows history where they planned to stop doing this, and then obviously changed their mind.

What's wrong with the closing credits exactly?

on 31/12/10 they cut off the last few seconds of the closing and this morning the director credit got stuck as the © 1989 bit rolled

I think Seven were trying to stick their current logo over the "Australian Television Network" bit the other day. I hope they don't start doing it permanently, it would be annoying having the end cut off.

EPISODE 308

The most annoying thing about this episode is that whiny little baby girl called Sally. "Nobody tells me anything" "Why won't anyone tell me" etc. without any thought as to why, really convinced she's smart enough, mature enough and ready enough to interfere with other people's business.

NB. References to future episodes have been blacked out with the 'SPOILER' tag.

All through the Dodge storyline remained an unanswered mystery factor that would have balanced the equation: how did Sally know what Dodge was really like? How did Alsa know? Or was "Pippa" just deluding herself, not wanting to believe Dodge was beyond help or didn't want to be helped?

Later on, just before Dodge was found out and taken away for good, references are made to "female intuition" with sounds rather sexist, and seems to ignore the real reason why Alsa and little baby Sally knew what the rest of the town didn't know (or didn't seem to know) about Dodge.

If you ask me, little Sally brought on her own problems with Dodge, if she really did let go of the candy incident at the bus stop

like she said she did

. She's the one who picked the fights with him in the first place, complaining about things about him, accusing him of things that don't really make sense.

Sally was only a 9 year old child.Children that age can be quite bratty.

Dodge was much older than Sally and he went too far with his bullying of her.Maybe she shouldn't have picked fights with him but she was a young child at the time.Dodge treated her so much worse than how she treated him.He almost lets her drown in one of the episodes before deciding to play hero so he looks good to everyone else.

Dodge was a great villian,but I never liked his treatment of Sally even if she did act like a little brat towards him.

He didn't "let" her drown? What was she doing at the rocks in dangerous surf? He did save her from drowning, yes?

Also don't forget she was antagonising him for no reason at the start (she even denied it had anything to do with the candy incident at the bus stop).

Also, how does Alsa "know" what Dodge is really like or is "Pippa" kidding herself by not wanting to think much bad of Dodge?

Certainly a very different feel to these latest episodes with new locations, goodbye to a few old ones etc and new characters (and soon goodbye to some).

This is the first time I've seen the Early Years, but I have to say that recently I think the show has changed direction quite a lot. The writing went quite wobbly since Rebecca's departure and Dodge seems to be a bit of a cardboard cut-out villain. The show feels a lot darker in tone and less inviting to watch. I can't remember which episode it was, but a few weeks ago (perhaps ep 303) it seemed like everyone was arguing with each other for some reason or another. Andrew Foley is an extremely annoyng presence I have to admit, he just grates on me a hell of a lot and comes across as slimey the way he's going out with Carly. And Steven, I know he's just lost his uncle to the fire at the Diner, but I don't like the way he has constantly had a go at Plot Device Simon, who, by the way, I like.

I've never actually realised, but the latest episodes have made me realise just how much I loved characters like Philip and Narelle, plus Leanne. Stacey too, although she barely seems to feature at the moment. It seems that they've swayed too much towards drama and not in a good way. Although, having read that Marilyn's just arrived, I expect TPTB saw this and tried to rectify it - I can't wait to see her episodes.

Quite interesting that people have noticed the changes, as we've not long had the first change in Story Editor (Script Producer nowadays), with Bevan's last episode airing about 7 weeks ago.

I guess it's understandable that it would take them a while to find their feet, as I can't imagine it would have been an easy transition taking over from the person who had created the storylines from it's very beginning.
