The era of Casey, Joey and Liam didn't rate very well, especially the character of Casey which resulted in them all leaving around the same time. The show then focused more on Selina, Chloe and Jesse. A while after, Hayley, The Nash Family and Will was introduced to fill the void.

^I'm not sure if that's true. For a start, Joey outlasted the rest of the teen group by so long that he actually commented to Hayley shortly before he left that there was no-one around anymore for him to say goodbye to.(He left 18 months after Casey and nearly two years after Liam.)Aaron was clearly brought in as a replacement for Liam so they didn't give up on that age group completely and when Casey left they started mixing up those that were left with slightly younger characters like Tiegan, Justine and Tom.

That's interesting about Belinda. I wonder what kind of behaviour got her axed. Seems she could have turned into the bitch Karen became, but it couldn't have been that bad if she was asked back 2 years later.

Fiona Spence left to do the stage tour of Prisoner here in the UK. She does a lot of stage work and probably decided to leave the programme rather than come back.

As we all know she has come back on a few occasions.

Roger Oakley was axed which was a shame.

The same old quesion about Cornelia Frances though - she wants to return full time but can't. Would they have axed her initially - I don't think so?

I always thought that Roger Oakley left at his accord and Vanessa made the decision to leave her role as Pippa as Debra Lawrence was recasted in the role.

My guess with Morag in 1989 was she was axed as her character was quite isolated from the rest of the community, but that's just my guess. She's one of my favourite characters ever.

Cornelia Frances is one of my favourite actresses of all time as far as Aussie TV goes, Gwen Plum was another. I know Cornelia usually does a small stint but doesn't usually stay too long, maybe a two year stint and then leaves. This was the case in The Young Doctors and with Sons and Daughters she appears as a guest then stayed probably for around three years.

It makes me wonder if she left of her own accord in 1989 - I mean the producers would be foolish to let someone of her status go even though the character at that time was not liked by the residents (But us viewers loved her).

I mean even now we do not know is she is coming back as a guest or is she has done any filing for a while but she did say a couple of years back that she wanted to stay on a regular basis.

Does anyone have any firm news on Cornelia past and present?

As someone who likes modern day Morag, I actually have to say I was amazed at how non-plussed I was with her 1989 stint. It starts off very with Roo, Nigel, Bobby and Fisher, but as time went on and she was invovled in that Danny story, not so impressed. But then you come into many different questions. Was such an alienating storyline written since Morag/Cornelia was leaving or did they have to write her out because they had written such an alienating storyline?

According to Belinda herself she was "a b**** " and the producers told her that she'd never work again. "I was obnoxious. I used to refuse to kissing scenes and stuff", Belinda said herself. She also argued a lot with the actor who played Revhead. It also took her a year to like her on screen brother Les Hill. "I really resented him." After a year she thought he was cool.

When the producers asked her back she was very surprised.

I wonder if that unpleasent expierence put her off acting. It's ironic that she disliked people she was closest with on screen. Thanks for telling.
