Human-Nature Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 Hmm. Sorry - but what's the point of this comparsion? I mean, those type-casts are almost in any show...
Baja Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 It doesn't particularly bother me if there are similarities between characters. Some of these are a matter of opinion anyway as I don't find Leah, Rachel, Charlie, Libby or Steph boring and find them all quite different characters. It does annoy me when they have very similar storries. First we had Donna being ripped off by a fashion queen from hell. Then a short while later the same happened to Nicole.
Ryan Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 I tend to agree with you Human-Nature. You could probably find something that's similiar in us, but I have no doubt we're pretty different. Some pretty weak pairings there and I'm sure if you stayed at it long enough you could compare Home and Away to the Teletubbies.
SummerBayLocal Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 The thing about these comparisons between Home and Away and Neighbours is that majority of it is pointless. A soap is a soap, at the end of the day they are all the same. Each show just has different spurts of quality and drama. It just so happens that Home and Away has been more popular than Neighbours in recent years. However, this year, the quality of Neighbours has risen and although the ratings don't seem to be showing it, the shows has had more memorable stuff than Home and Away this year. I think Home and Away better watch itself - but this is coming from someone who thinks they shouldn't be compared anymore.

I think Home and Away better watch itself i agree that Neighbours has improved somewhat this year, but i would have to say it's a very slight change. i thought the same thing towards the middle of last season during the Parker's exit... and then it all went pear-shaped again . so i wouldn't be surprised if the quality dips again towards the end of 2010. there still need to be serious changes before it is properly enjoyable to watch. and i would also say that although it has been pretty slow, H&A still beats Neighbours this year

Teletubbies is very different to Home and Away - in Teletubbies there's a gay character as a regular.
Ryan Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 I guess we could compare Liam to the hoover since they both suck. Ba-doom.
