I do find it unlikely that Jack could sort Tasha out when Irene and a group of trained medical professionals couldn't but I suppose it was all about them bonding together.

yeah i thought exactly the same thing. although it probably is all about your state of mind in that situation, and Jack's monotone voice could calm anyone down.

in fact, these episodes have not only allowed me to relive some of H&A's best cliffhangers, they've also reminded me just how terrible Paul O'Brien's acting was for the entirety of his time on the show

I haven't watched the 3 last episodes of this run but the other week I had to watch some of them at x6 speed when Jack was in it, he's unbearable.

Ric came across a lot better in that episode, talking calmly to Cassie and to Macca, giving her a completely spot on speech and accepting her decision without question.I've a feeling that when I first saw those episodes I was a bit surprised that they'd suddenly resurrected the Ric/Cassie relationship, which seemed dead and buried, but watching it again I could actually feel myself coming round to the idea of them being together when he was talking to her at the hospital, even though I knew how it ended, so I suspect I did the same then.Let's face it, he was the only genuinely decent guy she ever went out with.

Okay, so I got it wrong about us not seeing Kitty again.I've no idea how often we saw her after that or how things were left between her and Amanda.I strongly suspect, but I'm willing to be proved wrong, that we didn't see her again after Belle came back so it still feels like there was an odd leap between her acceptance of her in that first episode we saw and her "What's she doing here?" attitude of the following year.

Although Rachel finally let the mask slip and showed her grief, oddly I didn't find her any more sympathetic.Again, I think it was a case of her reactions being totally human and understandable but not really fitting in with what we expect from television characters, giving in to her own despair rather than being positive and trying to help the other people involved, like Irene or even Amanda did.And it got a lot worse before it got better...This might be a good time to note the rather curious portrayal of Tony and Rachel during this run:If you watched these episodes, you would never pick them as a future married couple. When you see them together, it's obvious they get on in a "say hello to each other in the Diner" kind of way but you really wouldn't think of them as close friends and half the time they don't even talk to each other directly.

Hi does anyone know the episode numbers of the episodes that were shown today please?

Those were episodes 4218 and 4219.

On to today's episodes(4510 and 4511 to avoid any confusion), I didn't really like Jazz back then, I think they made her a bit softer when they brought her back.Trying to cheat Drew out of his inheritance was completely out of line and it's kind of ironic that he ended up handing most of it over to her anyway.Morag, who hardly appeared that year, swans into town, foils her evil plan and then swans out again.I was a bit disappointed that she seemed to take Jazz's accusation that she'd broken up a family to heart, when, certainly at that point, Drew was better off without her.

I was hugely disappointed with Irene and Martha throughout that storyline with their vendetta/witch hunt against Jonah/Michael.If you want evidence that Irene can be nasty and malicious without drinking, there it is:It amused me last year when people were insisting Lynne had played Alcoholic Irene before by saying "But she was nasty to Blake, she was nasty to Fin and Damian."Yep and she was stone cold sober at the time.I suppose they did both have pretty good reasons for hating Jonah but given that he did show genuine remorse for his actions at the time and ended up trying to help Tasha I found their blind hatred rather inappropriate.Even Alf, who doesn't exactly colour himself with glory, makes a crack about sharpening the pitchforks. The moment where Bruce forces Irene to step down, even if he went about it the wrong way, had me cheering for him for probably the first time ever.Ironic that Annie, who's gone down in history as being judgemental, is the only person willing to give him a chance, even standing up to Geoff at one point.Nice understated moment of Sally comforting her while Irene sulks.

Having said that, while Michael's "new" history is vaguely interesting, I do think it was a retcon too far to reveal that he didn't rape Tasha after all, he just thought he did.Maybe they thought another "rapist turned good" storyline was stretching it a bit.(Shame they promptly introduced Henk, probably the worst "rapist turned good" storyline they did...)Watching Jack and Sam here, knowing we're only a short while off the point where things started to go wrong, it is disappointing that they did what they did to Sam, suddenly making her Jack's second choice. And while Michael was allowed to depart with a bit of dignity, she ended up clinging onto him so much she went off the deep end.

So who was the bad girl on Wednesday's episodes? Surely it wasn't Rachel? Similarly who was the bad girl on Thursday's episodes? Kitty? Amanda?

Overall mixed views about some of the characters. I found Alf's outbursts quite funny and was actually quite pleased with the way he dealt with the reporter. He probably shouldn't of acted like that but that guy just reminded me of Jerry. I did find it quite funny when he was having a go at Morag until he collapsed from chest pains.

Sally was someone that I used to like when she was younger but eventually found her annoying sometimes. I dunno the way she came across she seemed to have an air of superiority about her as if to say I'm so perfect, I'm always right everybody else is always wrong sort of thing. It was just something about her mannerisms when Cassie was asking her about seeing Macca (and there have been other times in other episodes as well).

These episodes reminded me why I wished Jack had died in the explosion along with Zoe. It was really annoying watching him in the hospital bed like that when he found out Martha was missing after the helicopter crashed (yes I know it's understandable as she was his wife and he had every right to act like that but if you don't like a character then a lot of things they will do will invariably annoy you). And then when he helped Tasha I thought to myself "Oh please!". Top doctors, drugs nothing then Jack comes along and everything's hunky dory.

I started off feeling quite annoyed with Ric and the way he was with Cassie but I thought he redeemed himself when he went after Macca even though Macca saved him. TBH the reason why Ric almost fell of the cliff was because Macca stupidly ignored everybody's advice in pursuit of Martha with no chance of finding her and that very easily could have been Macca hanging onto the ledge instead so I don't feel Ric owed him anything. Even though Cassie rejected Macca then rejected Ric afterwards it didn't surprise me Ric wasn't too bothered about it. I got the impression that he was more pleased that she didn't want to get back with Macca then she wanted to get back with him - even though Macca and Cassie reunited anyway. I actually really liked the Macca/Cassie scenes. Personally I could see the chemistry there and thought it was a real shame how things turned out in the end.

Surprisingly I actually felt quite sorry for Kitty. I thought what she did was pretty bad but clearly she was sorry about what happened, even though that was mainly because Belle was declared missing, probably dead so that gave her a reality check regarding Amanda. I was a bit worried at first because I thought Amanda was being a bit hypocritical. It's funny how these things happen, earlier on in the week I thought Leah had double standards feeling sorry for Sarah even though she killed someone but having it in for Jazz just because Leah was jealous Jazz was dating someone she wanted for herself and it helped them showing the episodes a few days apart. With Amanda we have the way she acted with Graham (last week) and then presented with a situation where she's arguably been in a similar position to Kitty so I was glad she decided to stop hating her. I was also quite pleased when Dan said he was proud of Amanda. If Kitty was so cut up about Amanda and thinking the worst of Belle then why didn't she make an effort to contact Kelli? When watching the scene where Amanda was looking at Belle's photo's when she was younger I kept thinking to myself again it was such a shame the way things ended with Belle. I'd just wish the writers had broken her and Aden up, have her get a job as a photographer or journalist in the city and have her leave to live with Amanda, Peter and Ryan.

It's cliffhanger week this week. Bad Girl's ended last week I think.

exactly, i was wondering with today's episodes whether Jack would be able to 'talk' the cancer out of Martha. Paul O'Brien's acting today was unbelievable, Jack couldn't have looked any less bothered that his fiancé was flat-lighting.

I'd forgotten the mine storyline was that tight at the end with everyone inevitably getting out just before it collapsed. It's interesting to see how sympathetic they were making Bruce by that point given that he'd been a ranting psychotic shortly before, I liked that lonely look he gave when Annie and Geoff were hugging each other.Little Pippa!Nice to see a bit of her, gosh she was cute. And Tam, another one of those characters that was written out far too early.Given how capable Sally was, it was quite a shock seeing everything get on top of her, even though I remembered that ending.Really wasn't happy about Colleen trying to pressure Brad into getting involved when Sally had actually treated him fairly badly. It was good that he decided to help her on his own terms, not too sure that bringing Cassie back would help most people's mental states but it seemed to make Sally happy.

I've reviewed that second episode at least twice and I guess I still like and dislike the same things about it.It is interesting watching it post-retcon and seeing how Roman's words tie in not only with what he'll claim in a couple of episodes' time but the real story he told a year or so later.I liked that little bonding scene between him and Nicole which did seem to be the point, as she accepted he couldn't tell her the whole story about Mark, when she suddenly seemed to grow up.And that's two episodes of Geoff playing a hero!Cutting back to Martha being resuscitated was probably a bad move, I think at the time the writers were still convinced Jack and Martha were the most popular characters on the show when it soon became obvious they'd been replaced in a lot of viewers' affections somewhat...
