just when i was begginning to warm to mink they take her away........why did they bother bringing her in when they could have just written a script where romeo suffers a mental breakdown then confesses

indigo....just when i thought nicole had a friend, a proper one where they have something in common she got take away. why did she and her family even come to the bay for...

is it me only but i think nicole's character is the most neglected character, its like nothing she ever does becomes a success . thank goodness maryln is here now

But that's just the nature usually of guest characters and why some become so popular, they are contracted for a set period of time, and usually have the one storyline, which they'll live or die by. If they are successful, they burn brightly.

Dodge, for instance, going back to 1989, may have been an extended guest and he was played and well written, which helps, but ultimately they could do what they did with him, because they knew 80 episodes down the track he was getting written out again. They didn't need to worry, at that time what they would do in 6 or 12 months time.

Mink especially seem to be getting set up for the long term & she was so more interesting than bloody Ruby & Xavzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I hope Aden's brother isn't going the same way.

Fully agree, and would also add that if Mink never came back into my life it would be too soon. The show would be so boring if every new character you knew would end up staying, and why. In fact, it does get a little boring sometimes for that very reason (i.e. it was clear within his first episode that Elijah = Leah's now love interest. DULL.) They have to have people going in and out. I was all "Mink is never going to leave, it's all a bluff" but then she did and I was both surprised and happy. Although they replaced her with Annie, so swings and roundabouts I guess.

True, she was more interesting. However she was still irritating as hell, and no good for the show. I think we should all aim a lot higher than "better than Ruby and Xav"! My life is more interesting than those two but no one wants to watch it on TV!

Can I just say I fully agree with you?

I HATED Mink every second she was on my screen and wanted to punch her in her face until she left and then I was like, "Come Back...." That being said I would still pick Ruby over her any day.

And Indigo, she had about a million different personalities, depending on the episode, but I felt like she could have been a good friend for Nicole (besides Ruby, she needs more than one friend) but I think she was really only put in there to drive home how messed up the Sid/Nicole situation was.

And it's not only you, Nicole seems to fail at everything she does and get screwed over or left behind by everyone she loves. And now the same thing is happening with Aden, because she's letting Britt control her life. He's the best thing that's happened to her, besides Roman and it's all slipping away...

Give the girl a break.

Home and Away's been like this for years now. They'll have dozens of interesting guests who come and go while we're stuck with a bunch of dull as ditchwater nobodies as the main cast.
