What storyline would you like to see H&A tackle?

H&A has done a good job (& some not so good jobs ) at tackling difficult storylines.

For example, the cancer storylines, done beautifully by Belle & Flynn in particular.

Also domestic abuse, HIV, teenage pregnancies..

But what storyline would you like to see H&A tackle?

It can be an old one, but with now a days characters.

I would like to see teen suicide/self-harm dealt with more in Home and Away.

And I would love a long-term gay character in the Bay but the chances of that one happening are pretty much zilch.

They've pretty much covered every possible story-line. Like Megan, I think they should do a proper gay story-line (not much hope of that, though - on evidence of last years debacle). How about Martha holding a sheep shearing contest?

No!!! Her cowboy are vintage, and besides they were part of the JM wedding experience So thats a no , Martha ? Burning her cowboy boots ? Baaaaddd idea!

They already killed Jack , they can't kill the boots as well.

Anyway I want a good hard hitting storyline , BUT it has to be a character that I love and is there a bit long term. I thoroughly enjoyed Cassie's HIV storyline mainly because of the fantastic writiing,acting and the fact that I loved the character! Sharni is such an amzing actress , the storyline is a credit to her.

What kind of storyline do I want....Hmm... The only thing I can think of at the moment is BRING BACK SALLY!!!

Besides a character return I would really like to see a main character develop a mental illness. I guess it would have to be written and acted well though , like in Eastenders they done the Bi Polar storyline with Stacey which was so amazing on so many levels! I know that

Miles is showing signs of having a breakdown but I will hold my judgement till I see how it progresses

More seriously I'd love (possibily wrong way to say it without sounding like a sadist) a proper self harm storyline. So many teens go through the self loathing phase and it's really sad and ends in tragedy when it's not detected. I think it'd make a good dramatic storyline, although honestly I can't see any of the current teens either being strong enough to take it on believably.

I'd like to see a bullying storyline with one of the teens. It probably wouldn't work with any of the current ones (although it might have with Annie a few years ago), so they could do it with a new younger teenage character. I know they briefly touched on it with VJ at the end of last year, but I'd rather see a long-term storyline. That could then develop into a self-harm storyline for the teen who is being bullied.

I would really like a teenage depression storyline.

But like said, it needs a strong actor. To make it believable. Jess Tovey for example. Noone would be able to pull it off with the current cast.

As 10-15% of teenagers suffer the symptoms of depression. and 5% suffer major depression (self harm, attempts at suicide ect..) & it doesnt need to be a rough tough teen, it happens to anyone as it is a disease of the mind.

That would be sensational.

But not a quick h&a type story where the teen feels sad and 2 mins later self harms and a day later is caught and then is completely fine! (for example Irene with her drinking, the gay storyline..)

Depression can go on for months without the sufferer recognising the disease.. to then open up about it can take up to a year.. and the healing process can take up to years.. and the chances of a relapse in teens in over 60% likely.

But from the teens on h&a you would think that all teens live a care free life with the occasional break up which is mended with another relationship, or a party.

Dont get me wrong, some people do have generally happier lives, but no teen is 100% happy all the time.

& some people get very sick with depression..

ok ok.. im sorry for rambling...but its an issue close to my heart!

I actually think Mink could be a good candidate for a depression storyline. Underneath all that toughness she must be a bit fragile.
