When Charmaine gets home from school that afternoon, Robert and Sue are both angry with her. They received a phone call from Lois about 10 minutes ago.

Robert: CHARMAINE!!!

Charmaine: Hi Mum and Dad.

Sue: SIT!!!

*Charmaine sits on the sofa*

Charmaine: What's up?

Sue: WHY ARE YOU WAGGING SCHOOL?

Charmaine: I HAVEN'T!!!

Robert: AND WHY ARE YOU FAILING MOST OF YOUR CLASSES?!?

Charmaine: THEY SUCK!!!

Sue: GOING TO SCHOOL IS ABOUT GETTING AN EDUCATION, NOT SOCIALISING WITH YOUR FRIENDS!!! AND IF YOU THINK YOU'RE JUST GOING TO ROCK UP TO SCHOOL DURING LUNCH BREAK SO YOU CAN SEE YOUR FRIENDS, THINK AGAIN MISSY!!! YOU WILL ATTENDING THAT SCHOOL FROM 9:00 IN THE MORNING UNTIL SCHOOL FINISHES AT 2:50 IN THE AFTERNOON! NO MORE OF THIS "I'M-ONLY-STAYING-FOR-AN-HOUR" BUSINESS!!! YOU NEVER DID THIS BACK IN ADELAIDE!!!

Charmaine: SHOVE IT!!! *walks away*

(Over in Erinsborough, Faye is looking for Kierain.)

Faye: Dear?

Joe: Are you looking for that bloke with the chair?

Faye: Yes, Mr Mangel.

Joe: Not here. Don't ya know what today is?

Faye: It's Monday afternoon. *smiles*

Joe: Yeah, but it's also the practice matches for all clubs in the finals. Just quietly, I think it's another pie year.

Faye: Right then. *walks off and heads back to the house* Dougie?

Doug: Yes?

Faye: WHEN is Kierain getting home? Pamela and I have got a surprise for him!

Doug: Dunno. I think he'll be buggered though. What's the surprise?

Faye: Pamela and I were thinking about taking him to the guest house and lavish attention on him.

Doug: Why don't we make it a family thing?

Faye: Good idea. *smiles*

At the Fletchers, Bobby has just gotten off the phone with Barbara.

Carly: Bobby?

Bobby: That was Barbara. She wants me to live with her in the city and I've decided to accept.

Carly: Can I come?

Bobby: You and me?

Carly: Sure.

Bobby: Get real. Carly, I only wanted to get back at Kierain. We're on our own now, so you better get used to the idea. I better go. My taxi's here. *leaves*

*Carly looks incensed*

(That night, Taylor and Amelia are kissing when a tired Sarah arrives back from the hospital having finished the night shift.)

Amelia: Whoa! You look wrecked, Aunty.

Sarah: I don't know why I took that canteen job at your school. I'm exhausted! *flops down on the sofa*

Taylor: Miss Latana? Maybe you should quit nursing.

Sarah: You know Taylor? You’re right.

Taylor: I am?

Amelia: He is?

Sarah: Yeah you are. I am going to quit nursing.

Amelia: Okay.

*Sarah starts snoring*

Taylor: I better head back. It's nearly 11:30pm.

Amelia: I love you babe.

Taylor: You too. *leaves*

*Amelia heads into her bedroom and finds her mobile phone ringing. It's Lynn.*

Amelia: Yeah?

Lynn: You won't believe who's coming to live with me!

Amelia: Try me.

Lynn: Does the rap artist by the name of "T-Bone" ring any bells?

*Amelia is star struck*

Amelia: What? At the Fletcher place?

Lynn: Yep. Turns out he's the latest foster charge. He'll be here for two weeks.

Amelia: Oh I love T-Bone! He's very talented!

Lynn: I totally agree with you. Well, I better go. See you tomorrow at school. Night.

Amelia: Good night sis. *hangs up the phone*

(At the Willis place the next day [Tuesday], Kierain is eating breakfast.)

Pam: Love would you like to spend the week at the guest house?

Kierain: Hmm when?

Doug: Next week.

Kierain: Sounds great!

*Pam and Doug smile*

*Faye enters and puts her arms around Kierain*

Faye: My darling nephew. *kisses his hair*

Kierain: I’m not your nephew. *smiles*

Faye: All the more reason for me to be protective.

Pam: I’ll tea it up with Helen.

*Faye kisses Kierain again*

*Later that day, Kierain and the Willis family pile into the car*

Brad: MUM! Gaby’s on my side!

Gaby: NO WAY! Brad’s on my side!

Kierain: Brad, move your leg. Gaby, settle down. Doug, you forgot the Esky!

Doug: Oh thanks for reminding me mate.

Faye: Ready now?

Doug: Yep.

*halfway there and there’s a traffic jam*

Kierain: Great!

Faye: It’s okay darling.

*Kierain rests his head on Faye*

Kierain: This is a neat place.

Pam: It sure is chook.

Doug: Shall we get settled?

Gaby: I dibs the top bunk!

Cody: No fair! I want the top bunk!

Adam: I’m the oldest, so I should get the top bunk!

Pam: THAT’S IT!!! Cody you’ll be sleeping on the top bunk!

*Cody sticks her tongue out at Gaby and Adam*

Brad: And I get the other one.

Pam: *warningly* Bradley…

Brad: Sorry Mum.

Gaby: Little brat!

Cody: Oh grow up Gabrielle!

*Gaby stalks off*

Doug: Can you kids excuse us please? I’d like to talk to Aunty Faye in private.

Adam: Sure thing Dad.

*Pam, Adam, Cody, Brad and Kierain walk away*

Faye: What’s this about, Dougie?

Doug: It’s about what Enid did to Kierain last year.

Faye: Do tell.

(Flashback to last year when Enid served Kierain porridge for breakfast.)

Enid: Good morning Keely. How ARE you?

Kierain: Not bad.

Enid: I made this just for you. *gives Kierain a bowl of porridge*

Kierain: Porridge?!?

Enid: Yes. Do you LIKE it?

Pam: Enid May!!!! Why are we having pancakes when Kierain is only having porridge?

Enid: Because Keely LOVES porridge!

*Kierain takes one mouthful of his porridge and makes a face*

Kierain: It tastes like glue.

Enid: Are you insulting my cooking, Keely?

Kierain: It’s KIERAIN!!!

Enid: Then go without! *takes the porridge of Kierain and throws it into the garbage*

Pam: ENID!!!!

Kierain: I don’t need this! *storms out*

(End flashback)

Faye: OMG!

Doug: But that’s not all. She slapped him in the face, she made him bleed by punching his nose, she excluded him from going to the Oak Milk Bar Restaurant with the rest of us and she deliberately spilled gravy over his photos of Bea.

Faye: THAT BITCH!!!! I am determined to bond with him, Dougie!

*Doug and Faye hug*

Kierain: Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Okay that’s enough *swirls mouth wash*

*as he is going to bed in Faye’s room he hears Adam on the video phone to Sharon*

Adam: come join us

Sharon: I dunno it seems like a family thing

Adam: but Cody’s boyfriend is here

Sharon: well…..

Adam: please?

Sharon: okay, okay see you tomorrow

Adam: love you

*Kierain enters Faye’s room and lays on the bed next to her*

Faye: you in pain Darling boy?

Kierain: nothing I can’t handle

Faye: Doug told me about Enid

Kierain: you seem so much nicer

Faye: I am darling

Kierain goes over to Faye and hugs her

The next day (Wednesday), Kierain is at the local BI-LO Supermarket when he sees Miss Molloy at the cash register.

Kierain: What the…

Miss Molloy: Oh, it's you! *glares at Kierain*

Kierain: What is it?

Miss Molloy: Come with me.

*Kierain does so*

Miss Molloy: How's life?

Kierain: Bad.

Miss Molloy: Would you like me to make you feel better?

Kierain: Sure.

*suddenly Molloy puts him over her knee.*

Miss Molloy: You are nice and kind. *strokes Kierain*

(Flashback to Molloy being told what Pippa did)

Miss Molloy: WHAT did she do?!? I want details!

Kierain: She hit me.

Miss Molloy: WHERE?!?

Kierain: My face.

Miss Molloy: Is that right?!?

*Kierain hugs her*

Miss Molloy: You poor thing.

*end flashback*

(At the guest house, Sharon arrives.)

Cody: Sharon?

Sharon: Hi Cody.

Cody: ADAM!!!

Adam: WHAT?!?

Cody: Sharon's here!

Adam: Thanks Codes. Sharon! *gives Sharon a hug*

Sharon: Fine lover so where's this boyfriend you told me about?

Cody: My boyfriend? You've met Kierain before.

Sharon: I have? *looks confused*

Adam: No she hasn't, Codes. Remember she was away last time.

Cody: Oh, that's right. *smiles*

*Pam sees Sharon and smiles*

Adam: Oh err…Mum hi.

Pam: I'm glad you've brought Sharon along actually, Adam.

Sharon: How come?

Pam: You and Adam haven't seen each other in nearly a month.

Sharon: Thanks.

*keys turn in the door and Kierain walks in*

Kierain: Coastal drivers are SO rude.

Sharon: That your boyfriend? He's pretty cool.

Cody: He really is.

*Faye enters*

Faye: Where's Gabrielle? I'd like to speak with her.

Kierain: Dunno.

Sharon: From the tone of your voice, it sounds she's in BIG TROUBLE!

Kierain: What’s she done?

Cody: Yeah. Tell us the details, Aunty Faye.

Faye: It's private.

Pam: KIERAIN DARLING!

Kierain: What is it?

Pam: Come here.

*Kierain goes over to Pam*

Pam: Come here chook.

*He hugs her*

Kierain: What's Gaby done?

Pam: After you left, she was rude to Faye.

Kierain: What? That's slack!

*Faye enters*

Faye: Dear? *opens her arms*

*Kierain hugs her*

(Flashback to Faye and Enid as kids.)

Enid: Where's my Sally doll?

Faye: Why would I know?

Enid: You had it last!

Faye: Why would I want that thing?

*Enid pushes Faye into the sandpit*

Doug: ENID!

Enid: But...

Doug: ROOM UNTIL MUM AND DAD GET BACK!!!

*Enid walks off*

(end flashback)

In Adam's room, he is studying while Sharon is texting a school friend.

Sharon: Adam?

Adam: Yes Sharon?

Sharon: Is Cody's boyfriend that guy?

Adam: Yes, he is.

*Sharon's phone goes off. It's her friend Pam Oyster calling*

Pam Oyster: Hey.

Sharon: Pam! How are you? Enjoying your new school in Wodonga?

Pam Oyster: Yeah. Where are you?

Sharon: At Helen's guest house. You miss me?

Pam Oyster: Always.

Adam: Sharon! Come here.

Sharon: Better go. I'll text you later. Bye. *hangs up the phone before going over to Adam* Yes?

Adam: Sharon, you're blocking the light.

Sharon: Sorry.

Adam: To hell with it! *kisses Sharon*

(Faye is telling Gaby off in the kitchen.)

Faye: GABRIELLE!!! THAT OUTBURST WAS TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR!!

Doug: What did she say Faye?

Faye: SHE TOLD ME TO GO TO HELL AND THAT SHE WOULDN'T ACCEPT MY APOLOGY FOR THE BOUTIQUE FIRE!!!

*Kierain bangs on the floor from upstairs*

Kierain: Guys can ya please keep it down? I’m trying to watch last year's Qualifier against Collingwood. We play tomorrow!

Gaby: SHUT UP!!!

Kierain: I don't even HEAR you!

(The next day [Thursday] at Waverly Park.)

Faye: Wait. So they play AFL but in chairs with a basketball? I don't get it.

Pam: Explain it to her Doug.

Doug: It's basically what you just said. They play AFL style only with a basketball and wheelchairs.

Faye: Interesting. *smiles as she watches Kierain play*

*Kierain gets clobbered by Peter Sumich*

Faye: THAT DOES IT!!! *storms over to the field and grabs Peter's jersey*

*Doug drags her away*

Adam: Look he just got back up! No bringing him down.

*When the game is over (Summer Bay won 68-58), Kierain goes over to Faye.*

Kierain: I can't remember where I parked.

Faye: Are you feeling all right? *notices Kierain looks unwell*

Kierain: Concussion. What a win that was by us aye!

Faye: Sure was.

*Peter walks past Kierain and DELIBERATELY knocks him over*

Darrin Pritchard: SUMICH YOU ARE SUSPENDED FOR THE ENTIRE FINALS!!!

Peter: FINE!!!*storms off*

That night, the Willis's have a BBQ.

Doug: Steaks on the house!

*Kierain doesn't eat anything*

Faye: Dear?

Kierain: Wow! That was a hell of a bump.

Faye: I think you should see the doctor.

Kierain: Nah. Not till the Grand Final is done and dusted.

(Flashback to the week of the 1988 2nd Semi Final. Bev is trying her hardest to talk Kierain out of playing with the hand.)

Bev: Rest up. That hand is really sore.

Kierain: I can take it. I’ve come this far.

Bev: Is that all you care about? Why? Do you want that hand to get even more hurt than it already is?

Kierain: It ain’t getting any harder.

*Bev gives up*

(end flashback)

*Kierain starts to collapse out of his chair, but stops himself*

Kierain: Carlton better be ready for the last game of the season regular. I eat Steve Da Rui for breakfast.

Side Note: Two days pass from Episode 499.

On Friday, Kierain is celebrating with the Willis‘s. The reason for this is he booked a place in next month’s AWBL final after beating Carlton 78-59.

Doug: Well done mate.

Kierain: Thanks Doug. *smiles*

Faye: Looks like that concussion really did wonders. *smiles*

Kierain: Sure did.

Cody: I think we should celebrate.

Pam: That’s a good idea.

Kierain: Let’s get KFC.

Pam: Then that’s what we’ll do. *smiles*

(After Doug and Pam leave, Kierain is cleaning the wheels of his chair when he hears the door knock.)

*Kierain opens the door to find Jack standing there*

Kierain: What do you want creep?!?

Jack: I want to see Gaby!

Kierain: SHE ISN’T HOME AND EVEN IF SHE WAS, I WOULDN’T LET YOU SEE HER!!!

*Jack barges his way into the house and grabs Kierain’s wrist*

Jack: I wanna see Gaby…NOW!!!!

*Kierain punches Jack in the face just as Doug and Pam walk in*

Pam: HEY!!! LET GO OF HIM NOW!!! *holds Kierain*

Doug: We’re going down to the police station!!! *grabs Jack and hauls him into the car which then drives off*

Later, Pam is comforting Kierain.

Pam: Are you okay chook?

Kierain: I’m fine.

Pam: Were you scared?

Kierain: Kind of.

*Pam hugs Kierain tight as Gaby storms in*

Gaby: What’s this I hear about Jack being charged?!?

Pam: Gabrielle…

Gaby: WHAT DID HE DO?!?

Pam: He went to attack Kierain.

Gaby: MORE LIKE THE LITTLE BABY ATTACKED HIM!!!!

*the three kids walk off*

Doug: I thought Gaby hated Jack

Home and Away Episode #502: Do You Know Who I Am? (Part 1)

At the guest house, Gaby is being lectured by Adam and Pam about cerebral palsy.

Gaby: Why did you call me in here?

Pam: Do you want to start Adam?

Adam: Of course. Cerebral palsy is a motor condition that causes physical disabilities in human development, mostly in the various areas of body movement. Mum?

Pam: Cerebral palsy is caused by damage to the motor control centres of the developing brain and can occur during pregnancy, during childbirth or after birth up to about age three, resulting limits in movement.

Gaby: Can I go now?

Pam: WE ARE NOT FINISHED GABRIELLE!!!!

Gaby: But I am. So see you later! *leaves the room*

Adam: GABY!!!!

Pam: Leave her Adam. She’s not going to get it.

*Adam shakes his head in disgust*

Adam: I can’t believe she’s my older sister.

Pam: I can’t believe she’s my daughter.

Adam: Tell me about it.

*Pam puts her arm around Adam*

(Elsewhere, Margaret is planning to drive off with Kierain to her hometown of Hobart, Tasmania)

Margaret: I can finally bond with Kierain. I’ve always wanted to have a son like him.

*She looks at a photo of Kierain and smiles*

Margaret: He’s such a sweet boy.

*Someone knocks on her hotel room door*

Chambermaid: Room service.

Margaret: Thank you darling. *takes the tray*

*The chambermaid leaves the room*

Margaret: This time tomorrow, I’ll be a happy lady. *drinks her cup of black coffee*

The next day (Sunday), Kierain is outside the front of the guest house when Margaret pulls up.

Margaret: Hello Kierain. How are you?

Kierain: I thought you were in Hobart.

Margaret: I came back to see you. *smiles*

Kierain: Would you like to come inside?

*Margaret grabs Kierain’s wrist*

Margaret: I think you should get into the car.

Kierain: O-okay.

*Margaret takes Kierain into her car and places him on the back seat*

Kierain: Are we coming back?

*Margaret looks at him*

Margaret: No. We’re going to Hobart. You’ll be living with me.

Kierain: But what about Bette?

Margaret: I’m sure she’ll be waiting for you.

*Kierain tries to get out, but the childproof locks are activated on the door*

Margaret: I’m finally happy that you’ll be living with me.

*Margaret drives off as Kierain starts to cry*

*Gaby slaps Bev*

Bev: SIT!

Pam: Gaby!

*Gaby storms off*

(At the Bridgewater Apartments, Margaret is moving in)

Bette: Marge?

Margaret: Yes?

Bette: Why did you do that?

Margaret: I was depressed because of my father's illness.

Bette: Kidnapping is bad. Were you going to hurt him?

Margaret: Of course not. He's like the son I never had.

Bette: Go bond with him.

Margaret: Where is he?

Bette: Room.

*Margaret goes into Kierain's room where he is sleeping and sits on the bed*

Margaret: *softly* Wakey-wakey.

*Kierain wakes*

Margaret: Feeling refreshed?

*Kierain starts to cry*

*Margaret hugs him*

Margaret: What's wrong?

Kierain: You scared me.

Margaret: Didn't mean to.

Kierain: YOU DID!

Margaret: I'm going outside. *places Kierain back into his bed*

At Summer Bay High, Charmaine is talking to Misty near the lockers.

Charmaine: Bloody Crawfish!

Misty: She's not that bad now.

Charmaine: SHE GOT ME IN TROUBLE!!!

Misty: Could be worse. She could be Brooke Mellor. *laughs*

Charmaine: True.

*Bianca walks over to them*

Bianca: *to Misty* Your friend Jasmine is very pretty.

Misty: Thank you.

Bianca: But why does that Kathryn girl call Jasmine a dog for?

Misty: She’s jealous.

Charmaine: Who is this Kathryn bitch?

Misty: A bully.

(Outside the Bridgewater Apartments, Tom is looking for Kierain. He and Lil returned from Fiji yesterday.)

Tom: Uhh no. I’m looking for Kierain Geaney.

*Kierain sees Tom as he and Margaret come downstairs*

Kierain: What do you want jackass?

Tom: I want to make peace mate.

Kierain: Funny? When I tried to make peace you told me to go to hell. Pifft get lost!

Tom: Please...

*Kierain pins Tom to the wall*

Tom: What are you doing?

*Tom nods*

Kierain: YOU kicked me out!

Tom: Pippa told me to.

Kierain: YOU didn't care when I crashed into that truck! I nearly died that morning!

Tom: You need to get over it. It happened last year! We're in June 1989 now.

Kierain: Let's put YOU under a truck and see if you get over it!

*Kierain is on the verge of tears*

Margaret: *stepping in* I think you’ve said enough!

Tom: I hate you Kierain! I HATE YOU FOR RUINING THIS FAMILY WITH YOUR SELFISHNESS!!! *storms off*

*Kierain puts his head on Margaret’s stomach*

(Outside, Tom is greeted by an angry Paul Robinson.)

Tom: The hell are you?!

*Paul punches Tom in the face*

Paul: This man was treating Kierain like dirt so I flogged him!

At the Bridgewater Apartments, Helen is bonding with Kierain.

Kierain: So, when are you leaving?

Helen: Tomorrow. I wanted to spend some time with you during my visit. *smiles*

Kierain: That’s nice. *rests on Helen*

Helen: Do you want anything before you rest?

Kierain: No. I just want to rest.

Helen: Okay darling.

*Helen strokes Kierain’s hair as Bette walks in*

Bette: Where’s my honey?

Helen: Resting on me.

Bette: What did Tom do to my honey?

*Helen explains everything to Bette*

Bette: WHAT?!?

*Helen nods*

Bette: That jerk! I might go sort him out.

Kierain: No Bette. I’ve already handled it. *smiles*

Bette: Okay honey. *kisses him on the forehead before walking away*

Kierain: She sure cares about me.

Helen: Darling, I care about you too.

Kierain: I know. *smiles*

*Helen hugs him*

(At Judith’s house, she is preparing for the arrival of her cousin Felicia Cole.)

Misty: So, where’s this cousin of yours from?

Judith: She lives in Lithgow. Her name is Felicia. I’m sure you’ll like her.

Misty: Hope so. We don’t want your cousin to have the same personality as Brooke and Kathryn.

*Judith just smiles at Misty*

Misty: So, how was your day?

Judith: It was peaceful actually. How was school?

Misty: Apart from Kathryn calling me names, it was good.

Judith: Did you want me to have a go at her?

Misty: No. I already did. *smiles*

Judith: That’s good then. *smiles back*

*the doorbell rings*

Judith: This could be her. *opens the door to find Felicia Cole standing there*

Felicia: Cousin Judith!

Judith: Felicia! It’s so wonderful to see you again. *hugs Felicia*

Felicia: How long has it been now, three years?

Judith: Two.

Felicia: Oh yeah. *looks at Misty* And who is this?

Misty: I’m Misty Waters.

Felicia: Felicia Cole. *to Judith* Is that the homeless girl?

*Misty looks offended*

Misty: Not homeless anymore!

Felicia: There was no need for that tone. It’s not like I’m hurting your reputation.

*As Felicia goes to walk off, Misty trips Felicia over with her foot*

Judith: Are you all right cousin?

Felicia: Yeah, I’m fine. *glares at Misty*

Misty: Where’s Felicia going to sleep?

Judith: She’ll be sleeping in my bedroom with me.

Misty: *silently to herself* Thank god!

The next day (Tuesday), Sarah is in the canteen working when Nicole and Lauren approach the booth.

Sarah: Hi girls. What can I get you?

Lauren: Miss Latana? Who cooked this delicious food? *shows Sarah a plastic carton*

Sarah: I did. It’s my famous batter fillet. I cook it Islander style.

Lauren: It’s bloody delicious. *smiles*

Nicole: What do you mean by “Islander style”?

*Sarah explains her reason to Nicole and Lauren*

Nicole: Gotcha now.

Sarah: How’s the baby?

Nicole: What baby?

Sarah: I seen your Mum push the pram on Sunday as I was going to the shops.

Nicole: Oh, those are my twin brothers. *smiles*

Lauren: I’m getting a new cousin soon.

Sarah: Really? That’s wonderful. Do your aunty and uncle know what they are having?

Lauren: They said it’s a surprise. They do have two boys, so hopefully they have a girl. *smiles*

Nicole: How many cousins do you have bestie?

Lauren: I’ve only got four cousins, soon to be five.

Sarah: Would you like anything else girls?

Nicole: No thanks. We just wanted to tell you that the food you cook is awesome.

Sarah: I’m glad to hear it. *smiles*

*Nicole and Lauren walk away just as Robbie Taualai walks over to the canteen*

Robbie: Hey Sarah.

Sarah: Robbie! How are you honey?

Robbie: I’m great. Nice food by the way.

Sarah: Thanks.

Robbie: Where’s Amelia today? June and I missed having her in our Visual Arts class.

Sarah: She decided to take the day off today. I’ll pass on your message.

Robbie: Thanks Sarah. *smiles*

*Sarah smiles back*

(Amelia and Taylor have decided to spend the day in the city.)

Amelia: I just love it here in Sydney. So many people.

Taylor: I know.

Amelia: You never told me why you were fostered out.

Taylor: My real mother used to beat me up.

Amelia: I’m sorry to hear that. *looks at Taylor sympathetically*

Taylor: It’s cool. Just wish I could find out where my Dad is. I know he isn’t dead.

Amelia: What do you mean?

Taylor: My real Mum told me that Dad died before I was born. I know she’s full of it because just before I was fostered out, I discovered that she wrote a nasty letter to him.

Amelia: That’s mean.

Taylor: Tell me about it. Anyway, all that matters now is that I’ve got you and my friends. *pulls Amelia into a hug*

Amelia: That’s true. *smiles*

Taylor: I love you.

Amelia: Love you too.

*they kiss*

Taylor: What do you want to do next?

Amelia: I was thinking we should to go the Aquarium.

Taylor: Sounds like a plan. *smiles at Amelia before they kiss again*

(At the diner, Samuelu is hanging out with Tiago, Alice and Rhonda.)

Tiago: Where’s Heather? She was supposed to meet me after class.

Alice: Miss Lopez put her on detention.

Rhonda: What a bitch! Hope she leaves the school and never comes back. I have her for Senior Study and she’s ruthless!

Samuelu: Karen should be coming soon. She’s probably busy with Ruth.

*A girl around 17-19 years old (Jo Chandler) enters the diner*

Samuelu: Hey. I know that chick.

Tiago: Where do you know her from man?

Samuelu: From the youth refuge I was staying at when I ran away from my parents. She had a hard life. Parents never gave two-craps about her.

Rhonda: That sucks. I sure know what it’s like.

Alice: So, what’s her name?

Samuelu: Johanna Chandler. Everyone called her Jo at the refuge. She probably won’t remember me.

*Jo sees Samuelu*

Jo: Samuelu? Is that you?

Samuelu: Jo! How are you girl?

Jo: I’ve missed you! *hugs Samuelu*

Samuelu: What brings you here?

Jo: I’ve been searching all over for you man! These friends of yours?

Samuelu: Yeah. This is Rhonda Sheridan, my best friend Tiago Goncalves and his twin sister Alice.

Alice: Hi. It’s so nice to meet you Johanna.

Jo: Call me Jo. Johanna seems so…old-fashioned! *laughs*

Rhonda: You’re really pretty.

Jo: Oh thanks Rhonda.

Samuelu: So, what’s new with you?

Jo: I’m still at the refuge, but I’m about to leave soon.

Tiago: Why is that?

Jo: I’m moving in with one of the girls there. Do you remember Alicia Burke?

Samuelu: Vaguely.

Jo: Well, she asked me to move in with her. She’s renting a flat in Cabramatta.

Samuelu: I’ll have to come visit one day.

Jo: Sure thing. And all of your friends came visit anytime they please too. *smiles*

Tiago: Where are you staying?

Jo: At the caravan park. Bit small, but the bed is comfortable.

Samuelu: Hey I live here!

Jo: Do you? Which caravan?

Alice: He actually lives in a house.

Rhonda: I used live in that house as well.

Jo: That is so fetch!

Rhonda: Huh?

Samuelu: That’s Jo’s way of saying “cool”.

Rhonda: Awesome!

Jo: I better head back to the caravan. It was lovely meeting you all.

Samuelu: I’ll take you back there.

Jo: Don’t you have to be back at school?

Samuelu: We’ve only got like 20 minutes until lunch is over.

Jo: Then okay. *smiles*

Samuelu: I’ll see you lot back at school.

Tiago: Okay man. Later.

*Samuelu and Jo walk off*

Alice: Well, I must say Johanna is quite interesting.

Tiago: What does that mean sis?

Alice: *mocking Jo* That is so fetch! Who the hell says “fetch”?

Rhonda: Says the girl who always uses the catchphrase, “cool bananas”!

Alice: What’s your point, Rhonda?

Rhonda: My point is that you shouldn’t judge someone on their catchphrase.

Alice: True.

Tiago: I must say, Jo looked hot in that football jersey she was wearing!

Alice: Don’t get any ideas bro!

Tiago: Can’t I compliment girls without getting the third degree!

Alice: Not if you’re dating one of my best friends.

Rhonda: Who also happens to be my foster sister.

*Tiago looks bemused*

When Brendan gets home from school that afternoon, he heads into the living room and flops himself on the sofa.

Alf: I take it you had a bad day.

Brendan: It didn’t work out with Ann. We broke up.

Alf: Sorry to hear that mate. By the way, a letter came for you today.

Brendan: From who?

Alf: Tami and Krystal.

Brendan: Cool!

*Brendan takes the letter from Alf and opens it*

To our beloved foster brother,

We just want to say that we really miss you. We spoke (well, mostly Krystal) to Nan and Pop and they decided that if you want to live with us in Cook Vale, you are more than welcome to. It’s up to you if you want to live with us. If not, you can still visit us. We don’t consider you just a foster brother, we consider you family.

Samuelu: Calm down and let me explain.

Jo: I think I should leave. *walks out*

Samuelu: You just embarrassed me in front of my closest friends!

Karen: Close?!? That’s an afterthought! What is she a good kisser? How long has this thing been going on?

Karen: Does this mean our homework period is off?
