On Monday morning, Belinda at the DoCS head office where she is waiting for Bamato Dohnal.

Bamato: Belinda Macklin?

Bamato: How are you? I’m Bamato Dohnal. *shakes Belinda’s hand*

Bamato: I’m a case worker here at DoCS. Come into my office.

Belinda: I’ll be teaching full time next year.

Belinda: Yes. I’m going to be teaching Visual Arts.

Bamato: How nice. All I need now is your full name, date of birth and the name of your parents please.

Belinda: My full name is Belinda Atawhai Macklin and I was born on the 12th of December 1968. My parents are Jack Ngapera and Stacey Macklin. When I was born, I took Dad’s surname but I changed it to my mother’s when I was 18.

Bamato: I see. I will give you a call later this afternoon and see if your application is approved.

At the Wong’s house, Mary is in the bathroom sobbing.

(Meanwhile, Aunty Jean is leaving the family to live in affordable housing)

Jean: I don’t see WHY I have to move into affordable housing! All they do is provide lumpy mattresses and watery soup!

At Jacqueline and the Roomies house that evening, Vanessa is cooking dinner when she accidentally burns herself with hot water.
