Apparently the AWBL (Australian Wheelchair Basketball League) is very big in these parts they are showing the grand final over here it’s 5 minutes into the third quarter and Kierain’s just been knocked out by Scott Robinson. Alf and Ailsa are talking

Alf:

It all started after Martha died Ruthie had found these books in Martha’s cupboard

Alf:

Diaries she kept diaries of every year for as long as I can remember

Ailsa:

Alf:

No I didn’t want to it didn’t seem right

Ailsa:

Alf:

Alf:

Yeah you’d just come to town and I wanted to gage how Martha would feel if we started dating so I opened the diary and I got more than I bargained for it was all there everything time place day now Bobby’s mother had been having an affair with someone don’t ask who because that’s the part of the story I don’t know

Ailsa:

So what’s with the letter B?

Alf:

Bugsy it was a nickname Martha had given her anyway Bugsy was married and talking about a family and kids she had a warm and caring side only few people had seen but then it hit the fan hubby was told he couldn’t have kids so she threw herself into her work and became bitter and twisted and then she seduced some other bloke and WHAM 9 months later Bobby was born

Ailsa:

When you asked me if I’d look out for Bobby when I first came did you know then?

Alf:

No I just wanted someone to keep an eye on her I’d have taken her on myself but I had to bring up Roo

Ailsa:

Well thank god someone cared Bobby wouldn’t have had a hope in hell otherwise

Alf:

It’s a bit hard not to care when her mother’s a member of your own family

Ailsa:

A member of….Bugsy its Morag isn’t it?

Alf:

Yep

Ailsa looks shocked and confused

Dan is sitting in the diner staring at his milkshake

Dan:

Anyway it was Roo’s idea to set Frank up she talked me into it

Kierain:

Yeah she did and now I’ve lost everything

Kierain starts to cry Morag hugs him

Morag:

I’ll go and get your grandparents

Morag exits

Dan has a letter from Pippa it reads:

Thank you for helping and I’m glad Sally is behaving I hurt Kierain very badly didn’t I?

Maybe I should have at least talked it out with him I get the feeling he was trying to kill himself when he hit that truck and I can’t say I blame him I’m the only mother who gave him attention after all. How are your studies going? What’s wrong with Carly?
