Something that puzzles me regarding Kirsty/Jade/Laura

When Kirsty was back I found it strange that she never mentioned either Jade or Laura.

It was a good storyline but not handled very well. Ah well, she has gone again now.

She had been estranged from her family the whole time she had been on the run with Kane so it probably wasn't surprising she didn't mention them as she wouldn't have any idea what they had been up to or where they were.

It was just another piece of terrible continuity, like Ric having diabetes for all of 5 minutes.

Hahah.. i completely forgot about that, I guess sometimes writers cant remember everything and incorporate it all into the soap

I always found it really strange that Kirsty and Miles never had any sort of conversation about both of them being twins. I'd of thought it would be quite an interesting discussion point when they first got to know each other. Even when she got pregnant (even though the baby died and she didn't want it thus really there was no point) and I know it comes down to chance and all but it would have been interesting if she had of been pregnant with twins. The chances would be quite favourable I'd imagine if both parents are part of twins. Missed opportunity I guess.

That would be quite a strange conversation. "I was a twin, but it turned out my so called sister had been switched at birth etc". I'm guessing they just wanted to pretend the Laura storyline never happened. By the way, Miles used to live with Matilda who was also a twin (at least until Henry disappeared into the abyss and was forgotten to have ever existed). I still stand by my belief that this storyline was actually a good idea that was just terribly handled. I seem to recall hearing that they switched writers halfway through this storyline, which might explain it.

Firstly, I quite agree that the fact that Miles and Kirsty never discussed the whole long-lost-twin part of their childhoods was ridiculous. I'm all about Miles, and I wish he and Kirsty had been allowed to just be happy, and I would have loved to see that convo.

Secondly, though, unfortunately the whole twin-ESP thing is just as ridiculous. I quite agree, that if H&A decided to go with that storyline when K&J came into the Bay they probably should have stuck to it, which renders the Laura storyline problematic, however at the end of the day K&J's supposed psychic ability is utter frivolous rubbish. Which is why, for me, I guess it never mattered that it was forgotten. Either their "ESP" was nurture rather than nature (why not? It has no basis in science either way- in fact, quite the opposite) or it is a classic case of H&A "never-happened", which we can laugh at but ultimately skip over. If we look at it objectively, the idea of twins being psychic is even more ludicrous than that of them being swapped at birth! And, although I don't know for sure, maybe there were different writers at the time of the mudslide and when Kirsty and Laura met? If I had been the second, I would have been happy to distance myself from the disastrous ESP-nonsense of the first!

It was pretty interesting that they were both twins, BUT in their situation their chances of having twins wouldn't have been raised at all!

Kirsty was biologically an identical twin, which is a random occurence nothing to do with genetics. Miles is a fraternal twin, which can be passed on genetically through females but not males - e.g. a female twin has a higher chance of having twins but her twin brother doesn't (though his DAUGHTERS themselves have a higher chance of twins, if you follow). So therefore, Miles and Kirsty as a couple were just as likely to have twins or singles as a couple not made up of twins. Matilda could well wind up with twins due to a 'twin-gene' but not Henry (and Sally too I guess, before she became barren). Yeah not really important but I just felt like pointing that out :P
