After just nearly smashing my TV (I didn't realise I had to re-scan to get Fiver) I'm now watching today's episode. SO amazing watching these old episodes.

Great seeing these old episodes. And it was a good episode to choose from with so many older cast in it such as Frank, Steven, Floss, Jack and Carly.

Anyone know what Kieran's best man has been in - i recognise him from somewhere else.

He was called Luke, I think he came back a while later as a teacher and she ended up going out with him for a bit? I think they were showing each other slides of places they had been all over the world or something like that :S

ahhh yes

"The incident with Kieran left Sally suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder. Kieran's best man, Luke Harvey, arrived in town to try and make up for what had happened and helped Sally through her troubles. The pair soon developed feelings for each other and became engaged.

Meanwhile, Sally had decided to abandon her plans to become an archaeologist (mainly because she liked Summer Bay too much) and turned towards teaching. Her performance in teaching practise didn't impress Don Fisher but Judith Ackroyd was still principal so appointed Sally as Summer Bay High's new history teacher.

In all the time they had been engaged, Sally and Luke had hardly seen each other. A kiss from Harry Reynolds, mainly to prove she wasn't above temptation, led her to realise the inevitable and she called it off. "

I was always unsure of whether Gypsy should have outed Kieran like that. It’s very easy to talk in hindsight but I think she probably did the right thing because if she hadn’t publicly exposed him and mentioned it to Sally in private he would have wriggled his way out of it. Of course Haley wouldn’t have been there to back her up. It kinda reminded me of when the four musketeers outed Angie (with the help of Sally) and afterwards although Dillon accepted it needed to be done he didn’t agree with the public humiliation and Dani’s response was it had to be done that way because she was too smart. Anyway I should save that for later on this week.

I didn’t like the way Gypsy started crying and making it all about her. Let’s not forget who was most humiliated…Sally.

Oh and another thing. With Stephen being a blackbelt in Karate he should have known that it is only supposed to be used in self-defence but he was the aggressor when he confronted Kieran. Furthermore if he was a blackbelt the fight should have been over in less than ten seconds. Come to think of it didn’t Travis give him a pasting several years prior to that?

Ah, got a warm nostalgic glow from watching those episodes. It's about as far back as Channel 5 can go as well.Alf when he still had hair, Sally and Leah barely out of their teens...Gosh, even Pippa looked young.I wasn't happy at the time with Steven and Frank going after Kieran like that, it was typical unnecessary macho nonsense.Loved Gypsy outing Kieran(and I cheered when Hayley stuck up for her, especially since they were actually at odds at the time)and I really felt for her when she was on her own. It's odd, I spent about two years not particularly liking her, but by that time I absolutely adored her, probably because I used to adore Natalie and she was the closest thing I had left.Yes, Luke came back, got engaged to Sally and, um, was never seen again, her eventually splitting up with him over the telephone or something.

Yeah i thought it was a bit over the top for Gypsy to be crying so much, she is a drama queen though.

She did the right thing by telling Sally, maybe she should have told her before the wedding though, but as you say, she probably wouldn't have believed, and he would have wriggled out of it. Makes better tv the way it was anyway :P

Thanks for that. I thought he had a more long running role in something other than the 2 episodes as Kieran's best man. Luke was quite cute - I preferred him to Kieran.

Yes almost as far as Channel 5 can go back. It was the 2nd week after Home and Away returned after a year off air I believe. I went off Home and Away around this time and disliked a lot of the characters during this era like Gypsey and Will and also didnt warm to the Sutherlands when they arrived shortly after. I stopped watching for quite a while after Ailsa died.
