Obviously this is a very subjective thing. People will post the five characters they like the least rather than them necessarily being bad characters. For instance one of mine would have to be Vinnie because I detested him, however as a character I suppose he was quite good.

Others in no particular order:

Joey Rainbow

Edward Dunglass

Damian Roberts

Melody Jones - although she finally got some depth for me in her final episodes

Sally Fletcher - never really understood what she was supposed to be about, other than someone who just happened to be there from the beginning. I presume it is hard to have a child character for whom the only criteria is usually to be a cute child, and then try and write some sort of character for them. Usually characters are brought in having been plotted out in advance. I always felt Sally struggled to fit, at least up to her last couple of years anyway.

1) Leah - She never has any decent storylines, and all her love interests and husbands get killed off, or leave her. Her most inspiring lines appear to be "VJ NO" or "Can you take this out to table 6 please"

2) Dani Sutherlan - Soo self obsessed, she was so unlikeable

3) Annie Campbell - Too boring. They pair her up with Jai and she brings nothing. Everybody treats her like she is 6 years old and she has nothing in common with the other female teens

4) Claudia - Shes 17 and doesnt go to school anymore and nobody seems to care. She knows full well about Geoffs religious views, and threw it back in his face when she got pregnant and wanted a termination.

5) Melody Jones - Just annoying and whingey

I realise the list contains all females, I could also happily include Rhys Sutherland, Scott Hunter, Michael from the believers, Macca, Lucas Holden and Jesse.

That's interesting to me because other than Melody, you've listed character I felt had an enormous amount of character depth to them Imo, they weren't the typical boring run of the mill soap cliched characters, they were quite unique and flawed ''people'' who didnt revolve around romantic troubles to create tension and emotion, instead they covered mental illness, emotional disorders, cravings to belong and find there place in society, loneliness, venturing, dependability, physical illness (MS) to name a few - but they were strong characters that had great mate ships that are memorable to me - Damien and Angel especially, never once had a romantic element to it, just plain old best mates who were there for each other ON screen.

I think the show lacks having these sort of refreshing more grounded and inventive characters these days.

My least favorite - pretty much all come from the past few years because they were written horribly such as Cassie, Hayley, Belle, Matilda, Henry, Amanda, Martha (although she has so much potential to be a great memorable character, the writers give her garbage storylines that turn her into an annoyance), Jack, Tony, Lucas, Scott...

Exactly. I agree with all you have said there and that is precisely my point. You can have fantastic characters who people just don't like. The question isn't really going to get people listing bad characters, but rather characters they dislike. All the ones I listed (apart from Damian and Sally) were very, very good characters, but I couldn't stand any of them.
