LauraPhilly!! Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Hey, sorry for the long, long gap in updates! I just really haven't had the time lately! Anyway, here's hoping this chapter will make up for the wait! Please, please let me know what you think!! Chapter 45 Is it possible to still love someone even if they've hurt you..? Is it possible to forgive someone who's hurt you..? Is it possible for your family to forgive that person..? Are happily ever after's possible..? Who knows... * Dreams and nightmares are two different things...but they both happen when your asleep. Does that make them real? Faith didn't know. Did curling up in a ball on your bed help the pain fade away? She didn't know that either. All Faith knew was it was harder to face to pain than it was to shy away from it. She was afraid of being hurt again. She was afraid of closing her eyes; seeing Conor's angry face, seeing his arm swing back and hearing the slap and feeling the pain as his hand made contact with her cheek. She was afraid to stay awake; afraid that the big guy up in the sky had it in for her. So many people, so many strangers were out in the world, and Faith couldn't tell who were the goodies or the baddies. She didn't know who was next going to jump out at her. The thought of that was scary. Faith hated being scared. Hated not being able to stand outside her front door with her head high. Hated that she had to have her Mum or her Dad within reaching distance all the time. And worst of all, she hated that she hadn't seen Conor in almost five months. Yes, he was the one who hit her. It was thanks to him that she was afraid to do anything. But deep down, Faith still loved him. She still wanted to see him....to maybe even be with him. But, even though her feelings drove her to seeing him, she couldn't help feeling scared. Would this happen again? Would he have changed in those short months? Realised what he did was wrong? Of course he would have, but would that have been enough. Faith knew her parents would never allow it, that they would never understand how she could love Conor the way she did. They're relationship was simple; they fell in love, stayed together...most of the time anyway. Faith knew her father would never have done anything like Conor did to her. Aden wasn't like that. But Faith knew now, as she thought about it more, that this pain she was suffering, had suffered for the last four months, was not her being in physical pain, but that she wasn't with Conor. She physically needed him in her life, she couldn't function properly without him. She was a lamp and he was her light bulb. One couldn't work without the other. But what would the first step be? Tell her parents? No....they would probably barricade her into the house, put her on house arrest. But Faith had to see him. Physically obstructions wouldn't be enough to stop her. Not this time. Sitting up in her bed, she smiled as she saw her open window. Walking over and pulling it wide open, Faith slipped her leg over the sill and hoped out. Running around the back, she jumped on Roxy, their working horse, and galloped off into the fields, towards the O' Grady farm. * "Conor, what in God's name do you think your doing?" Waking suddenly, Conor jumped up from the pile of hay on which he had been sleeping to see his Grandma glaring at him furiously. "Sorry Gran." "I asked you over an hour ago to give Gypsy her feed! Not sleep on it!" "I'm sorry Gran!" "Not good enough!" snapped Tabitha. "I'm in the mood now to send you back to your Mother, young man, if you don't cop yourself on!" "Oh no Gran, please don't send me home!" begged Conor, as Gypsy nudged the back of his shoulder with her nose. "I want to stay here with you and Grandad!" Tabitha narrowed her eyes. "Well we have no use for unhelpful boys on this farm so you better show you are useful!" "I promise I will Gran...I am!" Tabitha shook her head and walked back into the house. Conor sighed. She had been like this for ages. Since....since the incident. Conor groaned and leaned against Gypsy as all the memories came flooding back. What he had been thinking? In a flash, he saw Faith clutch her face as she fell backwards. He saw her terrified eyes looking up at him, glittering with tears. Shock thundered through Conor as he realised what he had done. Not knowing what to do, he had just turned and ran, not stop until the cops caught up with him. Bringing him back to the present was Gypsy neighing loudly and bashing his shoulder. "Ok, girl, ok, I'm getting your dinner," said Conor, leading her into the stables where he had left her feed. As she munched away, Conor leaned against the door watching her. He didn't even hear the quiet footsteps behind him. "Hello Conor." Conor spun around suddenly to see Faith standing in the stable doorway. Looking her up and down, he quickly admired the floral dress that she was wearing, that stopped at her knees. Her golden hair was tied up in a crown on top of her head, and her eyes were wide with anxiety and worry. "Hello Faith." Her eyes widened again as she heard his voice. Conor shuffled his feet awkwardly; he didn't know what to say. Or whether he should say anything at all. Then Faith took a step forward. "Can we talk please?" Conor nodded and followed her back out to where she had tied up Roxy. Turning around to face him again, Faith gulped nervously. "So.....would you like to start?" Comments would be much appreciated!! x x x x

LauraPhilly!! Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 Hey, sorry for the long gap in updates! Here's the next chapter!! Chapter 46 Close you eyes.....and trust your heart, One smile and suddenly....no one else will do, And you're tied together with a smile....but you're coming undone, And then it hits you....you can't go back.. Does true love last forever? * Conor stood still, staring down at the ground, not knowing what to say. He quickly glanced at Faith. She was frowning now, frustrated with his silence. "Conor, I've stood in silence not knowing the truth for months," she said. "If I'd known more silence was what I was going to, I wouldn't have come." Conor was momentarily mesmerized by the sound of her voice. Her beautiful, soft, wind chime voice. Faith sighed impatiently and turned to gather Roxy's reins. "Faith, wait please," said Conor, stepping forward. She stopped and looked at him. "Would it be enough to say how sorry I am?" Faith's face as expressionless. "No." Conor sighed. "Then, wait awhile and let me explain." Faith dropped her hands from Roxy's sadle. "Ok, Conor," she said. His heart spluttered again. "You have one chance. My heart can't deal with any more heartbreak." He nodded and waited as she tied Roxy's reins to the fence. "Where do you want to start?" she asked, as he led her into the stables. "I'm sorry," he said. "For what I did that day." "I don't know what came over me, still to this day. But that can't excuse what I did. It was unforgiveable and Faith, I'm grateful that you're even giving me this oppurtunity to explain to you." "I don't even deserve that..." He looked at the ground. "I wouldn't blame you if you hated me!" Faith shook her head. "I don't hate you Conor," she said quickly. He looked up in surprise. "I could never hate you," she said softly. "I love you too much." Conor almost choked. "You still love me?!" Faith took a step closer. "I never really stopped Conor," she said. "I was in shock yeah, angry, even furious but beneath that, I knew I still loved you. It took me awhile to realise it, but the feelings were still there." Conor took a step forward. "I'll do whatever I can to earn your forgiveness," he said, taking her hand. "To earn your trust again. Whatever you ask me. I'll do it!" Faith smiled, squeezing his hand. "Just promise you'll never leave me, that we'll be together forever and that we will always love each....until the end of time." "And beyond," said Conor, kissing her hand. "This...us....is for keeps this time!" Faith smiled, leaned in and kissed him. Conor kissed back, wrapping his arms around her waist, he hugged her tightly. "I will never let you go again!" Let me know what you think!! x x x x x

LauraPhilly!! Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Sorry for the gap in updates! Here's the next chapter!! Chapter 47 Aden could just about see the living room between the crack in his closed eyes. It was quite bright. Then darkness again as he closed his eyes. Bright. Dark. Bright. Then finally dark. Aden began to slip off into a peaceful sleep when Belle came running into the room. "Aden, Aden, wake up!" she cried. "Faith's gone!" "What d'you mean 'she's gone'?" asked Aden, rubbing his eyes as he got out of the chair. "As in she's gone; she's not in her room!" cried Belle, frantically. "I searched the entire house and the yard, that's when I noticed Gypsy's gone!" Aden groaned. "Three guesses as to where she's gone!" Belle snarled. "Grab your jacket," she said, snatching up the keys. "This means war!" * "Tabi? Tabi!" "Yes dear," said Tabitha walking into the kitchen. "I can't find my pipe!" he said, disgruntled. Tabitha's eyes swept briefly across the room. "Are you sure you're not sitting on it dear?" she asked her unhappy husband. He shook his head, but then went to check. Pulling it out from under the cushion, he blushed briefly. "Well it might not have been there!" he said, growling. "Of course not dear," said Tabitha, rolling her eyes. Then there was a loud rapping on the door. "Who on earth is that?" asked Tabitha, alarmed, walking down the hall. She opened the door to see a livid Belle, both hands on the doorframe. "Where is she?" she snarled. "Pardon me?" "Where's my daughter?" asked Belle, menacingly. "Belle," warned Aden, putting his hand on her shoulder. Belle shrugged it off. "There's nowhere else she would be, now tell me where she is or I will call the police!" "Mrs Jefferies, I'm afraid I have no idea what you are talking about!" said Tabitha, sternly, unimpressed by Belle's inpoliteness. "My family and I have not seen your daughter since the court case." "You may not have," said Belle. "But I'm sure your charming grandson has!" "Conor has not done anything of the sort," said Tabitha. "He has been helping out on the farm and doing his community serive ever since! Infact, he is out back now exercising the horses!" "Oh really," said Belle, raising her eyebrows. "So you wouldn't mind me visiting him?" "As long as you do not harass him over what happened," said Tabitha. "I understand what he did was dreadful but the poor boy has been cutting himself up enough over it! He is just beginning to get better. I don't need you or your family planting a new bud of guilt!" "'The poor boy'", screeched Belle. "Did you see what he did to my daughter?! Not just the physical pian but emotional pain! He ruined her." "Yes ma'am, I have seen your daughter, so has Conor," said Tabitha. "You may not believe me but the boy is terribly guilty over what his. I'm sure his pain is just as hard to deal with as Faith's is." "I doubt that highly," said Belle. "You are free to do so," said Tabitha, simply. Belle snarled. "Look, just prove to me that Faith isn't here and I promise to leave your family alone." Tabitha gritt her teeth but managed to smile. "Nothing, I'm sure, would make me happier." Belle narrowed her eyes but followed Tabitha as she led them through the house. As they passed through the kitchen, Mr O' Grady jumped up. "What on earth are these people doing here?" Aden glared at him. "They claim that their daughter is here with Conor," said Tabitha, slipping into a pair of boots." Mr O' Grady snorted. "Nonsense," he said. "Conor has been in the garden since this morning, helping me. I have not seen your daughter anywhere." Belle rolled her eyes. "Shows what bad parents you are; can't even keep an eye on your daughter for five minutes," he said, collapsing into the chair again. Aden advanced on him, but Belle grabbed his arm. "Not now dear," she said. "We've got more important things to worry about." Aden continued to glare at him but followed his wife out the door. As they neared the stables, Tabitha called for Conor. There was a small scuffle and then Conor reappeared. "Yes Gran, what is it?" "Mr and Mrs Jefferies are here?" said Tabitha as Aden and Belle rounded the corner. They was a tiny gasped and a small bang. "Oh," said Conor, as he saw them. "What are they doing here?" "Faith has apparently disappeared and they believe she is here with you," said Tabitha. "Is this true?" "No of course not," said Conor quickly. "Then you wouldn't mind if we searched the stables?" asked Aden. Conor shrugged. "Do as you like?" Belle and Aden walked quickly into the stable, searching thoroughly as Taibtha and Conor watched on. Belle and Aden walked out looked embarassed but still annoyed. "Ok," said Aden. "We admit we were wrong." "We're sorry," said Belle, not meeting their eyes. "Apology accepted," said Tabitha. "Now, I am kindly asking you to leave and please promise never to call again." Aden nodded and he and Belle quickly left through the back door. Tabitha rolled her eyes. "Dilussional people," she muttered as she walked back into the house. When she disappeared, Conor ran quickly around to the water trough behind the stables. There, Faith sat on Gypsy, ready to take off just incase. "Did it work?" she asked. Conor grinned. "Worked like a charm," he said. Faith laughed. "What are you going to say for your reason for being out though?" he asked, as he patted Gypsy. "I'll just say I went for a long ride," said Faith, rubbing her too. "I better take off now shouldn't I?" "Yeah," said Conor, disappointedly. Faith leaned down and kissed him. "I promise I'll try come out as soon as I can!" "I know you will," said Conor, kissing her again. Flashing him a final smile, Faith took off. And then last Conor saw of her was the tip of her blonde ponytail. Let me know what you think!! x x x x x x
