matticus01 Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 I loved it... I dont have to come and kill you now It was just... beautifully written and I loved the bit about NIc/Geoff haha update soon
Jody Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 This chapter was brilliant. I enjoyed every bit of it. Good for him not giving in with that girl. Although if you think about it considering the fact he wasn't with anyone since Belle left that means since then they've been watching him turning down hot girls throwing themselves on him and leaving to go home to a empty house, can you really blame his teammates for coming to this conclusion? You wrote that Aden and Belle scene amazingly. It had hooked from the start to the end. I liked the way Aden kept switching from hurt, caring, or concerned to cold, uncaring or angry. It was so sad the way that he still kept doubting about how she felt for him. I'm glad that by the end he was convinced about her feelings for him. I'm so happy with the way you explained why Belle was behaving the way she was and the reasons for it. And you wrote the apart where she was explaining herself beautifully. I love that her problem was something that you can relate to. It's great that they've grown as a couple. But what I love about this is that you're letting us see proof of that when it comes to dealing with stuff but at the same time keeping in mind that they aren't always going to get things right at first. "What?' he asked perplexed. "Nicole and Geoff?" she laughed once more. "Seriously? Of all people, Nicole and Geoff?" "I wasn't thinking straight!" he cried in his own defence before pouting in mock offence. You got that right, mister. Well people sometimes say crazy things or in this case very very crazy things when we aren't thinking straight so I can't hold that against him. Especially when he's being as awesome as he was in this chapter. But good on Belle for calling him on it anyway. "Me?" He asked with a coy smile. Had to mention this one part. I thought it was cute.
Louise_2983 Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 I loved it... I dont have to come and kill you now Ok I'm going to be very careful about what I write in future! Thank you! I was worried that people were going to be expecting drama (I know some people had speculated about rape and abortions/miscarriages) and that they'd be disappointed with the actual reason for Belle's behaviour so it means a lot to get feedback like this! Thanks everyone for all your lovely comments, they really are appreciated
saraz Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 loved the update. i am happy that aden and belle talked. can't wait for an update

Louise_2983 Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Chapter 15 “Belle, can you come in here please?” he called out sternly from her bedroom. “Yeah, in a minute. I’m jus-“ “No. Right now!” he ordered harshly and she quickly finished tying up her hair worried that she had done something to upset him. “What is it?” she asked concerned as she entered the bedroom but her fears were soon allayed when a huge grin spread across his face and he snaked his arms around her, pressing her body up against his as he pulled her close and kissed her. “Just wanted to do that” he smiled softly, brushing gentle kisses over her pink lips. “Aden!” she giggled, slapping him playfully on the chest. “I thought it was something serious!” “This is serious!” he told her with a smirk, kissing her once more. As they broke apart he rested his temple against hers, his smile so wide it threatened to cause a solar eclipse. “Aden, you really need to stop smiling like that” she told him but the fact that she was unable to stop grinning herself undermined her words. “Or people are going to know that you got lucky last night!” “Twice!” he raised an arched eyebrow at her as she giggled. “And of course people are going to know, because I’m going to tell them!” “You can tell anyone you like about us” she told him, looping her arms casually around his neck. “But I’d prefer to keep the intimate details just between me and you!” “That’s probably wise” he nodded in agreement before smirking. “People will only be jealous” “How could they not be?” she giggled, pressing her lips to his in a quick kiss. He sighed softly against her lips, pressing her slender body up against him further so they were almost moulded together. “Last night was...” “I know” she smiled happily as he struggled to find a word that was momentous enough to describe how he had felt being with her after so long. “Me too” “I love you Belle Taylor” he whispered, tenderly running his fingertips down her cheek. “I love you too babe” “And you’re really ok with telling people about us?” he bobbed his head a little so his eyes were level with hers and he could look directly at her. “Yes” she replied honestly. “I was being irrational. I’m not going to love you any less if people don’t know because I really don’t think I possibly love you any more than I already do Aden so yes, you can tell whoever you like” “Actually, I think it should come from you” he told her quietly. “At least with people like Mattie and Ric and our other friends” He trusted her when she told him she loved him but he needed her to be the one to tell people because if he did it then he’d always be wondering if she would ever have really been ok with doing it herself. He needed her to do it so he could fully believe that she was over her issues about committing to him. “How about we tell them together?” she murmured softly. “How about we do everything together from now on?” “Sounds good to me” he smiled contently and brushed his lips over hers. “But you might get a few funny looks on the footie pitch this arvo” “Oh ha ha funny boy!” she slapped him playfully. “What? I’m serious!” he let out a low chuckle. “I quite like the idea of you in one of my footie shirts...and not much else” “Oh I bet you do” she giggled smoothing down the collar of his shirt with a flat palm. “But let’s save that for tonight hey?” “I’ll hold you to that!” “I’m counting on it!” she grinned pressing a quick peck to his lips. “By the way” he began, reaching out to grab the book peeking out of her camera bag as it rested on the dresser. “What’s this?” “I thought even you were smart enough to know that it’s a book Aden” “A New York guide book” he looked back at her confused. “They gave it to me at work” she told him honestly. “Told me to have a look at it and to sleep on their offer before making my final decision” “Belle” he sighed softly, looking down at the pocket sized book in his hands “If you want to go then we’ll work something out...I’ll even come with you” “And what about your footie?” she asked knowingly. “Footie is not going to last forever babe. If it’s you or footie then I’d choose you every time” “Every time?” she smiled almost shyly up at him, a warm glow of delight fluttering inside her. “Every” He kissed her softly. “Single” And again. “Time” And once more, his tongue parting her lips and licking them gently before she responded, kissing him back fervently. “You’re right though” she told him as they broke apart and she brushed her fingertips delicately over his cheek. “Footie won’t last forever so you have to enjoy it now, make the most of it whilst you can. New York and the rest of the world will always be there and maybe one day we can explore it together” “You’re amazing you know that?” “Well it has been said many times before I won’t lie to you” she teased, brushing her pink lips over his. As she did so his strong hands wandered down her body, splayed hungrily, as he kissed her back greedily. “Mine” he announced with a satisfied smile. She didn’t object like she would have done before. She simply smiled against his lips and kissed him harder. She was happy to be his. She never wanted to be anything but. “But seriously Belle” he tore his lips from hers reluctantly but his hands continued to cling on to her. “I don’t want you to wake up somewhere down the line and resent me for holding you back from something you really want to do” Without a single word she snatched the guidebook off the desk, where he had dropped it to allow himself to touch her, and flipped it open before turning to the index near the back, her fingertip moving swiftly down the list of contents. “Accommodation” she read aloud in a dismissive tone. “Aerospace...African-Americans...Airports...Nope!” she announced slamming the book shut with a resounding thud. “No Aden Jefferies” she whispered, wrapping her arms around his broad shoulders as his hands rested on the gentle curve at the base of her spine. “No Aden Jefferies...No Belle Taylor” “That’s very sweet babe” he grinned clearly pleased with himself that he was a big enough lure to keep her in the country this time. “But you only have to say the word and New York will have to amend all its guidebooks to include me. I’ll be the biggest attraction, they’ll flock from all over the world to see me” he teased, nudging her gently. “All the more reason to stay here” she told him softly. “I don’t want any competition. My eyes wouldn’t suit green” “There’d be no competition babe” he told her, kissing her gently. “And I’m happy to stay here with you as long as you’re sure that’s what you want?” he checked one last time. “You’re what I want” she told him confidently before kissing him tenderly. “God, I love you” he gasped his breathing heavy as he pulled her closer into a more heated show of affection. “I love you too” she murmured into his kiss, her eyes diverting their gaze over his shoulder to glance at her gold watch. “But I’ve really got to get to work” “Work?” he moaned his lips not leaving hers. “Yes you know?” she giggled against his full mouth. “That thing that pays the bills?” “I thought you were going to come to the game this afternoon? You promised” he pouted. “It’s the quarter final of the cup babe, it’s a big deal” “You know that means nothing to me right?” she laughed gently. She’d only just got to grips with the rules of the game, the complexities of the different leagues and cups still went straight over her head. “But I’ll be there. I’ve just got to go in for a few hours this morning to finish up a few things I couldn’t concentrate on yesterday what with everything that was going on...” “Ok” he nodded slowly. “But don’t be late” “Oh as if I’d miss a single minute of you running around all hot and sweaty in those tiny shots!” she grinned happily. “You have to be there early” he instructed with a mischievous glint in his eyes. “I might play terribly if I don’t get a good luck kiss from my girl” “I’ll try to be there early enough for that” she whispered pressing her lips to his once more. “But just in case I’m late...” “I like you’re thinking” he grinned, kissing her back passionately. “Don’t forget it’s Ric’s birthday barbeque tonight” she reminded him as they broke apart. “You were thinking about Ric then?” he asked in horror. “Of course not” she giggled. “But I think I forgot to tell you that the venue’s changed. I kind of offered this place” “Kind of?” he arched his eyebrows at her suspiciously as she smiled at him sheepishly. “Ok I did offer this place. It’s bigger than their house and we have a pool and it’s only us, a few of Ric’s workmates and Ally and Steve from next door to them. No one we haven’t met before. I just thought it would be nice and I didn’t think you’d mind” “I don’t mind” he smiled softly and she relaxed at the gesture. “I didn’t think you would” she grinned kissing him as a reward. “What’s mine is yours and all that malarkey” “Woah! We’re not married yet you know?!” he exclaimed with a chuckle. “I know!” she exclaimed teasingly. “Don’t scare me!” “Oh now who’s the funny one?” he laughed, pulling her back into a kiss. “Really got to go” she told him, breaking away reluctantly. “I’ve already been late enough times because I’ve been too busy doing this!” “But it’s so worth it” he grinned trying to pull her back to him but she resisted. “Seriously Aden, I’ve got to go. But if I don’t see you before the game then be careful ok? Look after that knee of yours, and the rest of you for that matter, I love you” “Then don’t leave me!” he tried again with a grin but she evaded his grasp and ran out of the door with a giggle, stopping only to blow him a kiss and then she was gone. *** Belle hovered by the entrance to locker rooms not sure she should be doing this. She had been surprised at how easy it had been to get this far. There had been no security in place although she was sure that there should have been and she hadn’t passed a single person on her way down the tunnel. The muted cheering and blaring music continued in the stands above her head as the crowds were psyched up ready for the big game. She shut out the noise and leant a little further forward in the doorway so she could hear what was going on inside. Of course this also improved her view a little. She wasn’t sure where to focus her gaze as a variety of tight muscles and ripped bodies filled her vision but as she spotted Aden towards the corner of the room, lacing his footie boots, she smiled and let her eyes feast on the sight of him. It didn’t matter that he was already dressed whilst some of his teammates were still in a state of semi undress. He was the only guy she ever really wanted to look at. She smiled softly to herself as she watched the pure concentration on his face as he threaded the long, liquorice coloured lace through each hole before pulling the boot onto his foot and tying it. Even when he was doing something so simple he was amazing to her. She wasn’t sure why she had decided to do this, it definitely wasn’t to hang around the doorway like some groupie dying to catch a glimpse of the semi clad players and she felt slightly wrong standing there. But before she could decide what to do now she was there she heard one of his teammates make yet another joke about Aden being gay as the others laughed. He shrugged it off, joking with them but he never mentioned her. Even though he now had permission to tell who he wanted he kept his mouth shut. “Belle, what are you doing?” Sheepishly she turned around to find Joey behind her, looking at her expectantly as she waited for an answer. “I was...erm...” she struggled to explain why she was there not even knowing herself. “Aden told you we’re together right?” “Yeah” Joey nodded. Aden had filled her in on the previous night’s events, minus the intimate details, on their way to the ground. “Well I told him I was fine with him telling people but they’re still making comments about him being gay and he’s just taking it and not saying anything about us” “Well” Joey looked at her knowingly. “Maybe he thinks they won’t believe him even if he does? You’ve been living in his house for weeks as just friends, you went out on a date with another team member last night and if he suddenly announces that you’re together now then they’re probably going to think that he’s making it up so they’ll get off his back and that’s just going to make it even worse” “You’re right” Belle nodded suddenly realising what she was there for as she barged straight into the locker rooms. “BELLE!” Joey exclaimed following her. “You can’t go in there!” Belle wasn’t listening as she stormed past Aden’s teammates towards him. A few quickly tried to preserve their modesty but it didn’t matter as Belle only had eyes for one man in the room. She stopped before him, his eyes wide with shock and confusion, as she took his face in between his hands and kissed him passionately until they were both gasping for breath. His teammates watched, some in shock, others cheering crude words of encouragement but the couple were too absorbed in one another to even notice. “What was that for?” Aden gasped as Belle finally tore her lips from his. “Well” she smirked, her tongue tracing a gentle line over her pink lips. “I promised you a good luck kiss this morning and I always keep my promises” she told him before turning on her heels and heading back out of the door, calling out loudly as she went. “And I thought I’d put those gay rumours to rest once and for all” Aden smiled to himself happily, his fingertips reaching up to touch his plump lips still burning from her kiss, as she simply walked out of the room and his teammates continued to gawp at him. It was as though they were waiting for him to say something but her kiss had rendered him speechless. “Damn!” Dan Brady called out as another one of the guys laughed. “You owe me 200 big ones mate!” “I was sure you were gay Jefferies” Dan sighed. “You just cost me big time...but then I suppose a chick like that could turn anyone” “I was never gay” Aden laughed at Dan’s persistent. “Yeah, yeah mate whatever you say!” “You still owe me 200 bucks mate” a voice called out and as Aden turned his head, he realised it was Nick Chambers. “When exactly did you make this bet?” Aden smirked as the attention finally diverted to someone else and he was sure no one else was listening. “Oh” Nick laughed knowingly. “Last night sometime” “Oh” Aden nodded chuckling with his teammate. “After your brief date with Belle perhaps?” “Perhaps” “Well I suppose after getting caught in the middle of us you should at least get something out of it. So I won’t say anything, you win the bet” “Actually mate” Nick smiled. “I think you’re the real winner in all this. I know I haven’t spent much time with Belle but even from the little time I have I can tell she’s a great girl” “Yeah” Aden’s smile widened immensely. “She sure is” *** Belle was half way on her way upstairs to retrieve her camera from the bedroom when she heard them. She stopped in her tracks, laughed in disbelief and ran back down stairs only to run straight into Aden’s arms as he grabbed her at the bottom and kissed her softly. “I thought you were getting your camera?” he asked looking down at her empty hands. “Oh I forgot” she lied hoping he wouldn’t press her further. “Do you want me to get it? I’m just going up to ge-” “No Aden you can’t go up there” she told him adamantly. “What? Don’t be ridiculous Belle” he told her trying to get past her but she pressed her body up against him to stop him going any further. A flimsy white sundress covered her slender body and he could make out the outline of her navy blue bikini underneath as his gaze and his strong hands wandered appreciatively over her. “Don’t go up there” she told him again, this time kissing him for good measure. “What are you hiding from me?” “Nothing” “Belle!” “Ok, I think Mattie and Ric might be trying upstairs” “Trying what?” “Trying” she hissed and giggled at the same time. “Oh” he mumbled the reality dawning on him. “Oh!” he repeated half angrily. “Upstairs?! Now?! In the middle of his birthday party?” “Give them a break hey?” Belle chuckled. “She was in the bathroom earlier with one of those kits that predicts when you’re at your most fertile so I guess it must have been now!” “Still...” Aden laughed in disbelief. “They really want a baby Aden, and they’ve been through a hard time, cut them some slack hey? It is Ric’s birthday after all” “Well they could have waited until they got home before Mattie gave him her present!” he laughed before leaning forward to kiss her softly. “But I guess I know what it’s like not to be able to resist someone” “Me too” she grinned kissing him back gently. “Especially after your performance today” she referred to him scoring all but one of the team’s goals and winning man of the match. “And I seem to remember you promising to wear one of my shirts” “Yes...later!” she giggled as he peppered her bare collarbone with hungry kisses. “We have guests!” “Who are currently procreating upstairs and they say if you can’t beat them, join them...” he winked suggestively. “We have other guests!” she laughed working her way free of his grasp and heading for the kitchen to get more drinks. “You still haven’t told them” he mumbled as he followed her. “I know but I will. I’m just waiting for the right moment” “That’s what you’ve been saying for the past two months” he told her doubtfully. It was ok for her to say she was fine with telling everyone and to put on a show in front of his team mates but when it came to telling the people important to her she still seemed hesitant and that worried him slightly. “I will tell them” she whispered softly putting the cold beers she was clutching down on the kitchen counter and standing on her tiptoes so she could press a kiss to his full lips. “Tonight, I promise” “Now can you carry these outside please?” “What did your last slave die of?” “Oh he’s not dead” she laughed softly. “But he might be soon if he keeps back chatting me!” “Fighting again?” Ric laughed as he entered the kitchen, Matilda followed him her hair slightly static and her face flushed. “It’s just our day to day routine” Belle shrugged with a smile. “9.10pm have a fight over something trivial...tick!” “So” Aden announced with a smirk. “Really good birthday hey Ric?” Matilda squeaked loudly as she blushed a crimson hue. It was obvious from Aden’s tone and knowing grin that he and Belle knew very well what the birthday boy and his wife had been up to in his spare room. “Erm...” Ric squirmed slightly as Aden continued to grin at them. “Don’t worry” Belle laughed softly, moving forward and draping her arms around Aden’s waist. “We can’t keep our hands off each other either” Aden looked down at her, his smile beaming as he realised she’d effectively just told Matilda and Ric about them. He looped his arm around her shoulders and she rested her head against his broad chest as he squeezed her body gently. “But it’s your house!” Matilda protested still blushed before trying to busy herself with a tray of food in the hope it would stop them all looking at her. “Hold on!” she suddenly stopped and twisted her body around to look at them, her mouth agape as she gawped at them. “You’re back together?” “What gave us away?” Aden chuckled brushing his lips over Belle’s soft hair as her head rested just below his chin. “How long has this been going on?” “How long have I been back in the country?” Belle looked up at Aden for an answer. “Eight weeks today babe” he told her with a smile. He knew, he’d relished every single minute of it. “Then 7 weeks and 5 days exactly” she turned back to her best friend to answer. “And you’re only just telling me now?!” Matilda exclaimed trying to mask that she was slightly offended that her best friend hadn’t chosen to confide in her. “Don’t be offended” Aden told her sensing her hurt and not wanting this to come between the two friends. “It wasn’t just you, no one knew” he told her omitting to mention that Joey had. “Belle had a few issues that she needed to sort out first” “Issues?” Ric chuckled softly. “She always was a complicated one” “It’s part of my charm” Belle grinned as Aden bowed his head and pressed a kiss to her lips. “Sure is babe” “Issues?” Matilda asked doubtfully. “Yeah” Aden smirked. “I’m just so loveable it overwhelms her” “The worst bit is, you think he’s joking!” Belle giggled before tilting her head up to kiss Aden once more. “Erm Aden, can you smell burning?” she asked breaking apart. Immediately all four of them looked out of the window to see smoke pouring out of the barbeque. “S**t!” Aden yelled both him and Ric rushing out to the pool area to tend to the small fire that had started. Belle laughed as she turned to Matilda. “I knew I shouldn’t have left him in charge of anything other than pasta!” “Issues?” Matilda asked with a sigh as the boys extinguished the fire outside. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you” Belle told her genuinely. “But I didn’t know what was going through my head myself” “I’m your best friend Belle, you can tell me anything” “I know and I did try last night but you were busy remember?!” she giggled as Matilda blushed once more. “Still, that was last night” Matilda sighed clearly still a little hurt. “And this has been going on for almost 8 weeks now” “I know and I am sorry Mattie but I was confused and not telling people was all part of that. Even you. And I could go into the whole thing and explain it to you now but none of it matters anymore. Aden and I are together and I couldn’t be happier” “You look happy” Mattie finally smiled her hurt clearly dissolving as she realised it wasn’t anything personal. “I don’t think I’ve ever been happier Matilda” Belle smiled as she watched Aden and Ric throw fresh food onto the barbie through the window. “I love him so much” “And he loves you” Mattie grinned. “Anyone can see that. So maybe we’ll be hearing wedding bells sometime soon hey?” “Ok” Belle chuckled as Aden’s mobile began to vibrate on the kitchen counter and she reached out to answer it for him, noting who it was from the name on the caller display. “Tomorrow we are going to sit down and I’m going to tell you all about what my problem was. Because comments like that are a no go right now!” “Hello, Aden’s phone” she answered as she pressed the handset to her ears. Muffled words interspersed with loud sobs crackled down the phone line instantly sending fear shooting through her. “Nicole?” she asked worriedly. “Nic? Are you ok?...Calm down...I can’t tell what you’re saying” she looked at Matilda desperately as she listened to a distressed Nicole try to tell her what was wrong, but she couldn’t make out a word. “Ok stay on the line ok Nic?” she asked heading outside. “I’m going to go and get Aden” “Aden!” she called holding his phone out as he turned to look at her. “It’s Nicole and she’s really upset” “Maybe she broke a nail” Matilda giggled but instantly stopped when Belle shot her an unimpressed look. “No” she shook her head with a sigh. “It sound like it’s something serious” *** She knocked on the office door tentatively and waited for a response. It had been over half an hour since Aden had disappeared in there to talk to Nicole and she was getting really worried. She’d phoned Liam thinking he’d broken up with her and that was why she was so distressed but he’d then informed her that he’d dumped her six weeks ago. The last he had heard from her had been a text saying she was back in Summer Bay, dating Geoff again and he was so much better in bed than Liam had ever been. Then she’d started worrying that something had happened to Geoff but a call to Irene put her mind at rest. As far as Irene knew everyone was fine. He called out to her to come in and she found him sat at the desk, his laptop open in front of him and his credit card in his hand. “Oh so Nicole needed money?” she asked as she crossed the room and sat herself down on his lap. “No” he shook his head, snaking an arm around her waist as he nodded to the screen. “I’m booking a flight to Sydney. I need to go home” he told her his voice tinged with sadness. “Aden what’s happened?” she asked cautiously. “Roman’s been called up again” “Called up?” she asked slightly confused. “They’re sending him to Iraq. He’s still enlisted” he explained quietly. “He leaves on Friday so I need to go home, Nic’s a mess and I need Leah and the girls to know I’m there for them too and I want to say goodbye to him in case...” He didn’t need to complete his sentence. She hugged him close to her and slid her lips over his cheek lovingly. “What about training?” she asked knowing it wasn’t really important but not wanting him to lose his job over this. “You’ve got a big game on Saturday haven’t you?” “Yeah” he nodded. “I called them. They’re willing to let me miss tomorrow and Thursday’s training so if I fly out tomorrow morning I can be in Summer Bay by noon and it’ll literally have to be a twenty four hour visit before I’m flying back here again” “Ok” she nodded glad he had sorted things out and not just decided to go AWOL and ruin his career. “But you better change that flight booking to two seats before you confirm” “Two?” “You don’t think I’m letting you go home alone do you? We’re a team now remember?” she smiled softly at him. “I know” he smiled up at her relieved he wouldn’t have to go home alone. “But what about work?” “I have some flexi leave to take and anyway this is more important, I’ll tell them it’s a family emergency. Roman’s your family and you’re mine so they have to let me go” “I love you” he sighed softly. “I love you too” she smiled, kissing him tenderly before taking control of his laptop and changing the flight booking so the number of seats required section read 2. Next Chapter Back to the Bay
