Aden and Ric similarities

^Ric was a jerk when he first turned up. He was horrible to Henry. But then, Henry was pretty horrible himself, so maybe it wasn't as noticeable.

There are definite similarities. Bad boys turned good through the exposition of familial abuse. There are differences too, though. Aden is a lot wiser and more controlled than Ric. A lot more jaded, too.

Ooh, red rag, bull.I wouldn't really describe Aden as wise and definitely not as wiser than Ric.Or controlled for that matter, unless I'm misunderstanding you.I'd say Aden's more emotionally guarded, he doesn't seem to have Ric's sense of humour.Not that I'm saying Aden doesn't have a sense of humour, he does, but his is more acerbic, Ric's was more playful.Like you say, Aden comes across as more jaded.

Anyway..."controlled".I think they both had extremely short fuses, we saw Ric frequently lose it with characters like Macca, Rocco, Jules and ironically Larry(and even Flynn in the early days, before he calmed down a bit), just as we've seen Aden lose it with the likes of Robbo, Angelo, Liam and even Geoff a few weeks back.I don't know if this is just me but when Aden's angry with someone he pretty much comes across as a jerk.Unless I'm remembering it wrong, I never really got that feeling with Ric, there were times when I'd roll my eyes at him and think "Why did you have to react like that?" but I don't think I ever disliked him.(Except in the beginning, obviously.)

Perhaps I should have said "IMHO."

I love both characters, so it doesn't make much difference to me which one would win a popularity contest. They're both exceptional. IMHO.

Red Ranger 1, I can't believe how many similarities you picked up on, I never would have noticed most of them.

As for differences, I think Ric was a much friendlier character, and generally more popular among the people of Summer Bay.

If Aden is destined to follow the same path as Ric, does that mean he'll get framed for murder, grow Tarzan hair, have a lengthy relationship with Nicole, cheat on her with an older woman (Charlie?), father a child with said woman, lose said child, end up working in an illegal fight-club, then leave the Bay to be with Nicole?

^Here's hoping...Yes, glad it's not just me who thought Ric seemed friendlier.Although I'm not sure how or why it happened but Aden does seem fairly popular now:He doesn't have many close friends but the older residents like Alf, Irene, Leah and Tony do actually seem fairly fond of him.
