Last time, she was in it for like two scenes, almost. perhaps next time the jokers, that write this show at the moment, will bring her back as an extra

They could always recast Pippa again but i doubt they would do that. Deborah played the role for almost 10 years as a regular and then returned several times since as a guest. Vanessa was only there for the first couple of years.

It almost felt like Pippa was a different character and not recast - i always think of Pippa 1 married to Tom and Pippa 2 married to Michael, if you get what I mean!

Yes, I always feel like this about them as well. It would be good to see Pippa back on a regular basis. She always seemed to make everything so stable somehow.

They should have written Pippa out when Vanessa left the show and brought in Debra as a new character. I have thought of a good storyline showing how it might have worked. I have said it before and I'll say it again.

Here it is. Here's how I think it would have worked.

2nd June 1990 at Fletcher House

Pippa's cooking dinner, there's a knock at the door.

Pippa opens the door.

It's a lady called Mary Keating (who played by Debra Lawrence). It's Sally's long lost mother who turns out is alive.

Pippa says, "Hello, how may I help you?"

Lady says, "Hi, my name is Mary Keating. I'm Sally's birth mother."

Pippa says, "Pardon, why don't you come inside and tell me about it."

Mary says, "On the boat crash I lost my memory it took many years to get back. I only got it back a month ago."

Pippa says, "How did you find out where Sally lives?"

Mary says, "I checked the Family Services Department. I used to work there. I have lots in common with you Pippa. I like fostering and helping kids too."

Pippa, "Oh, good. Look you're more than welcome to stay here as long as you want."

Mary says, "Don't worry I won't take Sally away from you. I may move to Summer Bay if I have to."

Pippa says, "Well, Sally should been home soon. I might go outside and tell her first before she sees you."

Mary says, "Okay."

Sally says, "Hello Pippa." Pippa and Sally hug.

Pippa, "I need to tell you something. Sit down sweetheart."

Pippa tells Sally everything about her mother being alive.

Sally says she doesn't know how to feel and asks Pippa when she can meet her.

Pippa says, "She's waiting inside."

Sally runs in and gives her mum Mary a big hug. Both Mary and Sally cry in each other arms.

Then Mary moves in and helps Pippa with the kids and running of carvan park for two weeks.

Then on 16 July 1990,

Pippa gets call from her mother's doctor saying her mum has become ill.

Pippa needs to make a diffcult choice beetween looking after her kids or looking after her sick mum.

Pippa says, "Mary, I think if anyone would do as good job as I would have looking after the kids and running the caravan park it's you. I would like to sell the house too and hand over looking after the kids."

Mary says, "I would be able to handle it but only if you're sure about selling."

Pippa says, "Yes I am."

Mary says, "Okay I promise I will look after the kids and anymore kids who need a home."

Pippa says, "Now I have got to do the hardest thing - break the news to Sally."

Pippa leaves the bay.

Mary Keating, played by Debra Lawrence, takes over her role at Summer bay house by looking after new foster kids and running the caravan park.

I am sure if they did that Vanessa Downing would have returned as a guest just like Debra has. And I am sure if they had asked Vanessa to return as a regular she would have said yes, because after all Vanessa lives in Sydney where it's filmed. Debra said the reason why she would not return as a regular again is because its filmed in Sydney and she lives in Melbourne.

I don't think we need Pippa in the show at the moment to be honest.

I just feel like she doesn't really have a place there.

I've said it hundreds of times and there are many many fans that would like her to return full time IF she were written the same as she used to be - but after the mess with her recent stint I'd be scared the writers would ruin the character by having her be nothing more than a speaking extra serving coffee (Colleen) and if that would happen I''d prefer her not to return permanently.

I agree. I was very exited to have Pippa back and they didn't really give her a storyline.

I really got the impression that some of her scenes were written for Irene (Belle going to rehab etc) but that Lynne did not manage to film them before she went on her break (and Irene went off on the boat trip). So they brought Debra in to cover. Apart from that she also seemed to be filling in for Coleen.

If I was Debra I wouldn't waste my time to be honest after the last dreadful return , she was in a scene , then another , then another , then poof she was gone.

I actually think it would have been better if she'd just been in those two episodes at the end of the first week. She could have come in, sorted out Belle, Geoff and Annie, then left.Instead they had her hanging around doing nothing for another two weeks. It was almost as though with Alf and Irene away they needed another token middle-aged character who doesn't contribute anything to the plot for a bit.
