Characters You're Unsure Of

I've been curious about this for a while. I'm not talking about characters that you straight out love or loathe, I'm more specifically wondering if there are characters that you sometimes like, sometimes don't, or can't decide whether you love or hate. Either because their character grew or because of an inconsistency in writting that just confuses you, their characteristics changed in a particular storyline... whatever.

I never know whether I like Ruby which I think is due largely in part to the contradictory writing to the character now as opposed to when she first arrived- even if it is realistic. Same with Cassie, I used to love her one second then hate her the next for a solid 2 years.

Anyone else?

Kirsty.I don't remember ever disliking a character more but at the same time there's still something about her that i like ,which isn't surprising seeing as she was my favourite Sutherland sister.I think i could like her again if she left my poor Miles alone. He's to good for her.I also find her incredibly condescending at times.

That probably didn't make much sence but it's how i feel about her.

I don't really have an opinion on Xavier,i'm happy for him to stay or go

For me it would have to be Rachel. Although I'm starting to get the same feeling with Miles.

I adored Rachel when she first arrived, but since her relationship with Kim crashed and burned, I believed she's changed and not for the better. How could I go from loving her to really disliking her in just over a year? What happened? She used to be so compassionate, understanding and now she's just so manipulative so she can get her own way.

I've never been able to warm to Nicole or Geoff. It took me a long time to warm to Annie and Jai.

I never been all that fussed on Miles. I Hate Hate Hate Hate Roman.

Ruby - sometimes(when Xavier isnt in the picture) i really like her but when he's there i just can't stand her either.

Jai - its like a rollercoaster with this guy i sometimes like him but sometimes just think he's in the way and annoys me.

It would have to be Kirsty for me. I think the writers have made a real mess of her transition from the KK relationship to being an adult person in the Bay. I'm not sure how they're going to get out of it.

Kirsty. I never liked her but when she got with Miles i warmed to her but now it seems i cant stand her she is acting quite immature at the moment IMO. Maybe if she gets with Miles again i will start to warm to her again.

Also Geoff. Some days i like him and some i find him annoying. Especially how he is currently acting.

I liked Roman when he first arrived but lately ive liked him less and less to the point of hating him. I think it started when he began to date Charlie. He changed IMO.

I'm exactly the same, first I didn't like Ruby then I really did and now with the whole Xavier storyline I really don't like her. I also felt the same with Cassie, when she was acting like a dope about a guy I didn't like her but when she was standing up for somebody I did. I also think Charlie's character's been inconsistent one minute shes strong and fiesty the next shes self loathing.

I'm either unsure of, or have no opinion (i.e they could disappear and I wouldn't really notice) on Jai, Ruby (to a lesser extent) Hugo and Xavier.

The one's I am unsure of, I think due to poor continuity or because of a lack of direction with the characters are: Rachel, Belle and Tony. The characters in my first list would come under the same reasoning's too - I simply don't know who they really are, I either dont know enough about the characters or I don't know what the character really thinks because they are quite undefined. I don't dislike them though at all.

I used to feel the same way with with, recently departed characters - Matilda, Beth, Amanda, Drew and Cassie.

I have a few, which mainly tally with everyone elses, but my main one is Jai, I just cannot warm to him at all, he seems so completely pointless, he's just there as an extra teen and a filler for Miles's back story, when Miles used to mention him before he arrived it held my interest, but when he arrived the acting and/or the writing was just so dreadful, I couldn't believe it! He seems to have no personality or warmth at all, even when he was talking about his parents etc, I just felt no empathy or emotion there at all, since his arrival and few small plots at first, he's gone down to nothing in recent weeks, despite my indifference it wouldnt bother me if I saw more of him and some kind of storyline for him as at the moment he's just a non-character in my eyes.

Agree also with what people have been saying about Ruby, she has such potential but she's lost amongst the boringness of Annie and Jai, I'm glad that now Xavier has arrived we're seeing a bit more of her personality, although I did think she got very very desperate over the Xavier/Freya storyline.

Re: Charlie, I'd like to see more of the back story and character exploration with Charlie as I do find her promising, but the scenes where she is a police officer grate so much compared with every day life, the actress herself just doesn't seem comfortable in that role, her delivery of the script seems so much more wooden than at other times, although her physical fittness helps to make the role as a police officer more believeable, and when she knew the truth about Angelo yet continued to mix with him I did find that good, there was realistic fear and anger in her eyes. What I would like to see is more emotionally revealing, deeper scenes with another female, Leah, for example, who has just been twiddling her thumbs almost for the last year in my eyes, apart from her and rachel there arent really the strong female friendships and connections like there used to be; Charlie and Leah live together and yet (possibly to allow more realism in the Bridget storyline) the writers haven't really made them that close, but now the Bridget SL has passed, I'd like to see this potentially strong friendship grow.

One character who frustrates me greatly is Nicole, she doesnt seem to have been overly well received by others but for me she is the only real personality amongst her group, apart from Aden, the chemistry between these two is far better than Belle and Aden at the moment, not that I want them to get together, but I just wish they would do a little more with Nicole at the moment, I dont necessarily want her to turn completely back into what she was like when she first arrived, and yes they did touch on vulnerability when she went back to her mum's, and her mum's visit to the bay, for me though if they want her to be a main character they need to stop being so predictable with her, I'd like to see slightly more self-awareness and less selfishness or even a complete de-railment again, something!!
