She did terrible things out of total desperation, and even though she was the mastermind behind Shane's drug dealing, she still did it all to try and hold her children's lives together. She double-crossed Shane, which was pretty low, but he was a willing participant in the drug-dealing too, so he was hardly innocent. You can't compare her to someone like Johnny, who was truly evil, and wanted to kill people for petty revenge reasons, and who blamed Sally for the fact that HE had his own brother murdered. Sam clearly wasn't right in the head the whole time she was on the show, but she obviously completely lost her mind by the end after what Johnny had done to her, raping her and threatening to destroy her chance of a happy family life with Jack and Rory. If you ask me Jack and Martha were partly villains during that whole J/M/S period. How two perfectly sane people like Jack and Martha could treat someone like Sam (and consequently Rory) so cruelly is beyond me. At least Sam's behaviour could be explained by her being mentally ill, what was their excuse??? Yeah I agree with you on Sam. She was completely misunderstood. She was a pretty tragic character to be honest who had everything from her past come back to haunt her. All she ever wanted was Jack and a happy family but se could never have that because of Martha's presence and she knew that Martha would always be in Jack's heart. She wanted to defend the family she always wanted with all her power which she actually successfully did but thn Jack acted like a ding dong and treated her like rubbish. Bad Jack. I loved the character of Sam , mainly after she went nuts and killing Johnny and trying to frame Martha and Jack for her "murder" She was actually one of the best looney bins the shows ever seen with so may screws loose I cant believe she could even function I loved the fantastic showdowns Jack had with Sam over the whole Johnny thing !! Jess Chapnik was a fantastic actress !!
matt50 Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 i agree jess did a great job playing Sam the 4 people responsible for her death were johnny martha jack and shane and i think there's something strange about her sister and her mum must of not gave her enough love and interest and used to manipulate her and she must of taken alote responsibility and had to put up with her mums nasty partners im speaking from experience that why she was so overprotective over rory she was just damaged goods and wanted someone to love her i felt like going in the tv and yelling at jack and johnny for the way they treated her she died a miserable and lonely death which is the saddest thing ive ever seen on tv its really sad how people like me sam and others like us get treated like garbage at least her character can rest in piece in heaven sam holden gone but never ever forgotten

Part of me wants to say Angie for the sheer insanity factor, but there's something so much more satisfying about a villain who is in complete control of his emotions, and knows how to manipulate other people with his boyish good-looks and friendly charms. Ah Corey, you sweet, handsome devil umm Fandango? but others i liked Zoe was hot and funny to start with than turnd into a crazy bitch Sarah was scary she shot Naoh yay but why not Dani hahahahaha she was right behind her and she hated her the most why kill Noah? martha-jack Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 you will never believe it but i downloaded a few eps from last year and the year before and Sam as in them and the more i watch the more i actually liker her!! im really amazed as i use to hate her badly but now although its too late i have really warmed up to Sam and agree that she didn't deserve to die everything she did was to protect her family (and being honest if i was her i would do anything to keep Jack aswell ) and she especially did it all for Rory.

Yeah I've been watching some episodes from 2008 as well around the Jack finding out about her time and she was a credit to herself. I love how she didnt go down with a fight , and she gave an almighty fight. The best scene was the one where he came home from work to find her snooping in his house and a huge fight ensued . I absolutely loved her "you are the worst cop I've ever met. You flaunt the rules whenever it suits you and you stand there now and take the moral highground and you tell me what a horrible person I am Jack : you murdered a man Sam : I did what I did to save my own skin and thats exactly what you do Jack and I swear to god if im going to jail then im taking you down with me and telling them everything I know. Sam is a pure legend and even though im a huge JM fan I would have loved to see her take a grand revenge on him. Damn Sam why did you have to die , I reckon if she wasnt killed off she would have returned to finish Jack off in the 2008 finale.
DinerLandlord Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Sam was absolutely amazing, she wasn't a villain or a hero, she was an anti-hero! I'm so glad people can look back at her now and appreciate how amazing she was, even if they hated her while she was on the show.
matt50 Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 yer that would be great she could of shot jack than kill her self for real ive got mostly every episode of her on tape even when she first came on and other episodes though the years ive got too its good people are starting to relies Sam wasn't the real enemy johnny was and jack and Martha too i loved the Sam and jack showdown too jack and Rory were the only good things in her life and Rachel was a good friend too her i can understand what its like to have not much people care i would have done the same as Sam if i was in her place if she does come back one day she should end up happy and i know how hard it is to give up on someone u love she treated jack better than Martha did and i have a felling Rory aunt is treating him badly like she must of been to Sam when they were growing up she looks like a real bitch her dad was probably very nasty and her mum just misunderstood like Sam and probably killed her self too when Sam was a teen and a bite more unstable and used to manipulate Sam a bite my mums the same it can be very hard to take on your mums responsibilitys and put up with there nasty partners at least shes happier in heaven
