Episode 5000

I'm not sure if this is much of a spoiler because it's barely happened yet, but...

The year-long mystery that's apparently already started may be the end or the climax to that mystery so that could be pretty awesome!

As good as episode 4000 was with the reunion I doubt they'd do that again. Unless there's like some sort of a event that brings back a clan of characters that's all tied somehow or someone whose involved in that event... Alf's 60th was good and brought back a bunch of characters spread over the whole show. I thought it was touching, but at the same time I found it weird that characters from the 80's were interacting with ones they never met before that were only on the show for like six months :P

Episode 3000 wasn't a reunion type episode, it was more filled with high drama... Something like Danni cheating on Will with Alex, and Will cheating on Danni with Gypsy where they conceieved their baby, and then Alex ran over Brodie or something. Something along those lines. That's probably way off from my weak memory! But a milestone like an 1000th episode doesn't always need to be a reunion. If it's good drama then it's got me hooked! As long as they don't treat it like a normal episode, I'll be happy.

If it happens on the season finale as it has been rumoured for awhile, it should be a hell of an episode!

Kim and Kit should bring Archie back, and Robbie and Tash should bring Ella. The little Hunter-Hyde cousins need to play.

It would be good if Lucas could come back and say something about Jack too.

Well whatever they do Plank (Kim) and Skankbag (Kit) should keep as far away from the bay as possible with their wretched child

I would love Robbie and Tash to make an appearance though :)

I very much highly doubt Chris H. will evercome back. His attitude towards the show, along with him starting up his "career" in LA, the chances are very, very slim that he'll be back.

If Kim and Kit returned with Archie, Rachel might try and take him away.

Actually the more I think about it, the more I'm with Drew, my hopes of a reunion just quickly faded.

I wouldnt mind Kim coing back after Kit left him for someone else and he would see her happily married to Tony with their baby.

That would show him.

Kim should come back so he and Rachel can actually get a divorce. If she marries Tony without one she's a bigamist!

Does anyone know what date episode 5000 will be?

I can't think what I want to happen. I suppose it depends on what storylines are current at that time. All I know is I don't want them to bring back a much-loved character and then kill them off, like they did with Chloe in episode 4000. Considering that it's a big event episode, we might see the departure of a current character - Rachel and Belle are the two characters closest to the end of their initial contracts this year, so maybe one of them will leave.

If they have ordered 230 episodes this year it will be the finale. We have 230 most years, and unless they finish early or take a break for no reason between now and the end of finale, that's what we should get this year.

As for how to celebrate it, I'm stuck in two minds. I enjoyed Episode 3000, but for such an important milestone, it was a bit of non-event. I'd like old faces back, but in the same way, I felt Episode 4000 was more about the cast celebrating 4000 episodes than Alf's birthday. Also, I believe the show, over the past 3 years has veered seriously away from the bay it was even as early as it once was like 2001 time. Part of this may be the departure of Sally, but this cast seems very comteporary, almost just faces passing through, and I don't know how old faces would fit in amongst the new cast. Similiar doubts were probably raised in 2002.

Haha I agree. That would be awesome. :)

I love seeing old characters return - but to be perfectly honest, I dont really want a big reunion if its just going to be a bunch of past cast at a party with two or three lines. I'd prefer for a past character, or few characters to come back and actually have a storyline that intertwine old with new, otherwise its just going to be a reunion episode again. And it will deffintly feel like ''us and them''.

I agree with Ryan about how the past cast were so solid in regards to links, family ties, sentimental attachments to Summer Bay, whereas the current character just live in a town - that's how the writers make it feel these days...it feels like, especially when you compare it to the past - that there is no longer a small sea side community that have this emotional link to where they live - they just reside in a town. They can show as many town meetings in the Surf Club as they want, without the consistent direction and feel, it just looks like a convenient plot.
