Who thinks Beth Hunter should still be on the show?

I wasn’t happy when Beth left the show especially given the circumstances and the fact that we never actually got to see her exit. Her best period for her for me was during her time with Rhys before they were married. Loved the fact that she was a mother figure to Kirsty, Jade and Dani as well as having her own kids to deal with. I also liked her relationship with Robbie, Scott, Kit, Matilda etc when she was on her own. In retrospect had she stayed I’m not sure if she would really have made much difference in the show to be honest. I could have seen her turning out like Leah and Irene. Not having a decent storyline, only their as part of the furniture and only there to support other characters. She would have been around simply as a matter of course so perhaps she made the right choice when deciding to leave.

I'm likely biased towards the topic question because I enjoyed her so much, but I would say yes, she should still be on the show. I was always a huge fan of Beth and have felt that the show's been lacking in something ever since her departure. She brought a warm and cosy feeling that, even with wonderful characters like Irene and Leah still around, I haven't experienced since her exit. Given the right material, she could've remained another good few years had the writers known what to do with her. And that's why I can't help but agree with Ryan's very valid point. I think it's quite likely that some actors in the past, maybe Clarissa included, would've been more reluctant to leave had they been given a steady flow of good, challenging stuff. Obviously if the actor wants to leave for their own reasons and virtually nothing can 'tempt' them to stay, then it's got to be the right decision for them and I wish them all the best. But I do feel sad when I think Clarissa would've perhaps stayed if Beth had actually been given some things to do regularly that didn't involve serving juice at Noah's or folding the laundry with Tony (who was also lacking in material at that time, which certainly didn't help).

If she was on the show now, she would have to be given more material than the frankly abysmal lot she got in 2006 and to some extent 2005. There's no way I could sit and watch Clarissa's talent on the backburner for that long again! She worked her magic on what she was given but what she was given barely took up a couple of weeks worth of screen time in 06 and that really annoyed me and did put a damper on my enjoyment of the year. To see Beth go from being one of the Bay's central mother figures to seemingly guest character status with nothing to do was infuriating, and that would have to change radically if she was on the show today.

I am so lucky to still see her. In Estonia we have like episodes 4253 and 4254 tomorrow. But even if I think about that Beth is going to die, I'm holding my tears back. She's great ! Beth and Tony are my favorites right now and although I know it was her choice to leave the show, I will be missing her terribly. So of course I think she should have stayed in the show.

Yeah I kinda wished she was in it for a while after she 'died' but ach well these things happen

BEth Hunter character kind of annoyed me... it was sad when she died but for me there are a few other characters which i feel should still be on the show..like Sally, Belle should not leave, Kim, Hayley and Noah, Charlotte, Jack..........
