Alf - great character, terrible father.

I totally agree. Although I've never seen him with his daughter Roo, I've seen him with Duncan. Sure, Duncan wasn't an angel. Far from it actually. But the way he treated his son sometimes was awful.

I recently watched one of the episodes after Alf's 60th birthday and the car accident after which Chloe died. Alf immediately thought Duncan was responsible for it. Okay, they had had an argument but that didn't mean Duncan wanted to cause an accident to hurt/kill his father. I thought Alf's reaction was pretty harsh.

Alf treats his grandchildren Martha and Ric much better than his son Duncan.

You have got to be joking about Rhys Sutherland! Best we forgot about that waste of character.

Totally agree- he was awful, from the first day he came i couldnt stand him!

No, I'm not joking. Just because I don't agree with your opinion on the character, doesn't mean that I'm not being serious.

Rhys, to me, was the best representation of an average father. I already said that he was nowhere near the best, but realistic none the less.

Yeah, I wouldn't discount Rhys from the list, he always did his best, he put up with the Hunter kids when they were being brats, he was pretty much looking after five children on his own at one point and he didn't really screw up until the end.And when he found out Dylan wasn't his son, he didn't treat him any differently which impressed me.

Don't want to discount Alf although the results do seem to speak for themselves.I don't blame him for thinking Duncan was responsible for the car crash, given that last time he was in the Bay he stole a car and put Seb Miller in a wheelchair, although attacking him at the hospital wasn't the best way to handle it.It was significant that Duncan didn't actually blame him.

Has no-one mentioned Don Fisher?Come on, people!Okay, he didn't have the best relationship with Alan but he obviously loved him deep down.He was a good father to Bobby and Rebecca in the end.He took in Viv, Shane and Angel, Sam and Seb and did a pretty good job with them.Okay, Sam went off the rails for a bit but Don's support played a big part in him turning his life around.(He also took in Casey but they didn't get on so well...)

tony is the best father that i think ever has been on home and away :) he had a great relationship with both of his sons, and was also there for all of beths kids. he and lucas had there problems along the way, but they always came out of it, and their relationship was still strong in the end :D
