Bec Cartwright left home and away to pursure a singing career. Hayley married Scott. Rachel arrived in 2006.

Bec signing career had already happened by the time she left. She left because she was pregnant to Lleyton bby the time I am pretty sure.

I would perhaps ultimately change it to had Bec not met Lleyton. Was she not marrying into that wealth, I think she might have returned to the show had she fell pregnant to someone else.

I always felt that in her final year in the show Bec was positioning herself to move on from Home and Away anyway. She went on Dancing with the Stars, co-compered Carols by Candlelight etc.

To be honest I think they ruined the character in that last year and, though I wasn't a fan of Hayley (or Bec for that matter) I think Bec did the right thing by leaving before the writers completely changed her character. Like they did with Kit from 2005 onwards.

Plus the character peaked in 2004 when she was mourning Noah. That was the best acting Bec Cartwright ever did on H&A.

Hayley didnt annoy me like she did some others, but she was a very bland character and probably one of the first of a long line of boring two dimensional characters the show started introducing.

She was a 'nice' character but everything that the character was involved in, disinterested me the most - i.e it was pretty much romance based and thats as far as it ever went! I agree her 'pinnacle' was Noah's death storyline and it was portrayted brilliantly.
