I'm liking the way they've handled Geoff and Annie so far.Two people who were brought up in a fairly secluded environment where they never had to question the values they were taught suddenly find themselves in a community where people have different views and are left trying to fit in.I liked that scene where Annie was shocked to find Lucas and Belle had slept together and Lucas gently explained to her that other people had different values and that didn't necessarily make bad people. And while Geoff reacted badly to Cassie's HIV(although I don't think he ever saw it as a punishment, more of a sin), he changed his mind after a few words from Irene and Annie. And then he went and apologised to Cassie, which was very good of him especially since she didn't even know what he'd said.

I liked it as well when Geoff blew up at Belle again(over eating Easter eggs before Easter of all things) and Annie realised that their hardline attitude put people off Christianity. And then they persuaded Belle to try and see their side of things and go to a service with them, so she could make an informed opinion. It'd be nice to see a bit more of that.

I don't agree with everything I sometimes hear Christians say and the teaching from the Bible which I follow mainly in my life is to "not judge others." I believe this includes not judging homosexuals.

A lot of people claim that religion is the cause for a lot of problems in the world but I don't think it's religions fault. Wherever you find a group of people there are bound to be eccentric individuals who take their beliefs (whether of a religious nature or just personal opinion) too far and cause harm to others. It is these individuals who need to be blamed, not religion as a whole. If it is followed how it was intended to be, no-one would have a problem with religion I don't think.

In regards to the second point made a lot of wars have had something do with religion (just look at what’s happening in Israel/West Bank/Gaza strip).

I agree with not judging others. And when I’ve seen Christian people use the homosexuality argument, the counter I’ve seen to this is to not judge people. However my mind keeps going back to the same thing. Namely, that the Bible so openly condemns homosexuality, not just in the Old Testament but the New Testament as well. Personally I couldn’t care less what other people do but I was always under the impression that although you sin the idea is that you repent and atone for your sins. There are certain things that you could argue are wrong (even according to non Christian people) such as theft, murder, adultery etc. However there are other things that although they are sins, non Christian people could argue that there’s nothing wrong with such as fornication and again homosexuality. I’ve seen some Christians accept fornication because the idea is that eventually the two people involved would get married so they will no longer be sinning. But with same sex relationships they haven’t been so accommodating.

Anyway I think it would be interesting to introduce a gay character into the show and see how Geoff and Annie react and interact with them. I would like to see if Geoff would be as judgmental with them as he was with Cassie.

I know that not all my fellow christians would agree with me but I've always believed that when I read my bible it gives me guidance as to how I should live my life not ammunition to use in telling others how to live theirs.

Christianity for me is a complex subject, with science giving us the answer to most things, where does the bible come into it? I mean in the Koran, there is a mention of the Big Bang so Islam is covered that way but where does it mention in the bible?

yes it would be very interesting to introduce a gay character to see how Annie & geoff deal with it. I think they would avoid him/her at first but eventually I think they would come round because not only are they highly religious they are also really decent people.I think geoff would have more trouble accepting it more than Annie though like we have seen with the Cassie situation.

I haven't read the Koran, so are you saying that there is an explanation for the beginning of the world in a Big Bang?

I wouldn't expect the bible to refer to that; it is a history of the people in the human race, although not a very accurate one.

It is true that science has given us the answer to many puzzles in our lifes, but can it ever explain how the universe started?

I liked it as well when Geoff blew up at Belle again(over eating Easter eggs before Easter of all things) and Annie realised that their hardline attitude put people off Christianity. And then they persuaded Belle to try and see their side of things and go to a service with them, so she could make an informed opinion. It'd be nice to see a bit more of that.

I wasn't watching Home and Away when this occured. Did Belle go to their church with them?

I agree that it would be nice to see a bit more of that. It surprises me that Geoff, who wants to be a minister, never refers to his church, or going there, or talks about it to Annie or anyone else. Is he going to ask Nicole to go with him, so that she can see why his type of relationship is so important to him?

Yes but we didn't see it unfortunately.Geoff and Annie persuaded Belle to go to the easter service and then Ric and Mattie told Sally and Miles about it and they all decided to go as well. But apart from Geoff mentioning it to Melody a few episodes later it wasn't followed up on.

I remember that. That was funny. Would have been good if we got to saw them going to church that time. They probably all would have been laughing (all except Annie and Geoff).

As a Christian do you not worry that non-believers will not inherit god’s kingdom? And do you not feel obliged (out of duty to god) not necessarily to tell people how to live their lives but at least to point them in right direction in regards to Christianity. I have met many Christians who felt it was their duty to evangelise.

Christianity for me is a complex subject, with science giving us the answer to most things, where does the bible come into it? I mean in the Koran, there is a mention of the Big Bang so Islam is covered that way but where does it mention in the bible?

There are scientists such as Einstein that believe in god. Also if you are referring to the bible and God’s creation of the earth in 7 days, I’m not sure if that is meant to be taken literally. I honestly don’t believe that science will ever disprove the existence of god. Indeed if you refer to the Big Bang theory there is no scientific explanation for that event starting spontaneously. Someone or something would have to have caused it. So why not God? Furthermore I believe that the God from the Koran and the one from The Bible are the one and the same are they not, as I’ve met many Muslims that believe in Jesus Christ. Simply that he isn’t the son of god.

I do actually think Nicole has already gone to church with Geoff although admittedly that was during her bet with Aden to get him into bed. I do have to agree with you though, I can’t remember the last time I heard Geoff refer to Church. It will be interesting to see the direction the writers decide to take his character. I would personally love to see him sin and turn into a bad boy but it’s not going to happen. I do wonder as he does gain more life experience whether he will decide to become a minister after all or do something different.
