Slade Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 ^Oh I remember her. I think she was called Daria. Remember them quite well because her dad Sean was about 10 years older than Sally at the time and she caught them in a semi-compromising position and when she told Sam his response was “That is gross”.
Psychic Wombat Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 I don't think I'd want to wish a disease on anyone! But given the amount of sleeping around that occurs on the show (on set I mean) then maybe STD should be covered especially with the main audience age group being teen. Perhaps an outbreak of crabs with Belle, Bridget, Alf and Aidan afflicted :-0 that would get people scratching their heads :-)
Traceve Posted December 13, 2008 Report Posted December 13, 2008 Well that just shows how much I pay attention to the show. I didn't even know Ric had diabetes! I think it's time a character had an illness that wasn't cancer. Outbreak of crabs - LOVE the idea!
Red Ranger 1 Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 Oh, I've just remembered.Curtis found out he had diabetes. Not sure how often it got mentioned though.
Laura Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Oh, I've just remembered.Curtis found out he had diabetes. Not sure how often it got mentioned though. He had a fight with Jack and then became tired and weak and everyone thought he was drinking again but then he was diagnosed with diabetes.
Scented_Lies Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 We did see a character with Epilepsy too. Nick Smith I think it was. I don't remember Nick having epilepsy at all. Well that just shows how much I pay attention to the show. I didn't even know Ric had diabetes! Even the most obsessed fan would be forgiven for not noticing that Ric had diabetes, it was only mentioned extremely rarely. I think it would have been a great opportunity for H&A to show how diabetes affects someones life. Epilepsy would be another one I'd like to see dealt with (properly). I think H&A should show a character with a long-term mental illness such as Bipolar Disorder or Schizophrenia (and NOT do a Joey and try to kill their foster-mum). Mental illness affects about 1 in 3 people in their lives yet not many people know a lot about it. Having a character with a mental illness on the show could help lots of people understand it better - as long as the writers dealt with it properly.
martha-jack Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 I think it would be interesting seeing Leah with Diabetes, she doesn't get much screen time and it would be interesting to see how she handle's it.
Nathan. Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 We did see a character with Epilepsy too. Nick Smith I think it was. I don't remember Nick having epilepsy at all. He had an epileptic fit at an acting audition, which led to him getting the role weirdly enough and subsequently leaving the show... forever!
