In regards to the second episode I guess this was the beginning of the end for Jesse. Why couldn’t the writers have just made him and Chloe drive off into the Sunset together? Why destroy two characters like that?

I totally agree with you on this. I dont see why they felt the need to kill off one long standing character and send another long standing character to prison for manslaughter of the other.

It was ridiculous to kill off Chloe like they did and ruin Jesse's character by him killing Chloe in the car accident!!

It would have been so much better for them to leave together instead of destroying 2 old favourites !!

I think the whole idea with killing off Chloe was to make us sit through the most ridiculous and pointless custody battle in history. Thanks for that, writers.

So in other words there was no reason for doing that.

Anyway onto today. I didn’t actually see those particular episodes the first time round so in a way it was good seeing old faces from the past such as Will, Blake, Sarah etc. Oh and Barbara who I believe was Alan’s mother and so that would make her Seb’s Grandmother. Didn’t she turn mad at one point and try and sabotage Fisher and Marylyn’s relationship? Anyway you would have thought Seb would have been there because Alf was his guardian when Fisher left the bay and they got quite close. Also it bugged me Roo not being there. Bar the Sutherlands if I could bring any character back it would be her. I would have loved to have seen the interaction the between Alf, Morag, Celia etc but most of all Martha.

It was good to see Duncan apologise for causing the accident which paralysed Seb. Although I believe he’s recovered from that since.

Finally, did I hear right? Did Ric call Duncan a “tosser”? If so only a few months prior to that Ric wasn’t exactly what I would call Mr nice guy.

As much as I loved the episodes today - seeing the 4000th was great! - what annoyed me,was we didn't even get to hear Sarah speak, let alone hear other than Irene, not being sure what her surname was,how she is or what she's doing! - Every other character, atleast said hello to Alf and or someone else,Sarah didn't!

Rant over, and yes Ric did say that! :P

Unfortunately it was yet another cut piece from the episode, her moment of glory was to come in Scene 7 after Troy turned up:

SUMMER BAY HOUSE - NIGHT 4

ALF, SALLY, IRENE, HAYLEY, LEAH, COLLEEN, FLYNN, KIM, DAN, RIC, CASSIE, MARTHA, MORAG (SR), FISHER (G), PIPPA (G), CELIA (G), SOPHIE (G), BLAKE (G), DUNCAN (G), LANCE (G), CHLOE (G), MITCH (D), SAM (D), WILL (D), SARAH (D), BARBARA (D)

The party’s regained some momentum following Troy’s appearance and threat - but CHLOE is still feeling awful. IRENE, PIPPA and SALLY continue to comfort her.

IRENE

For the last time, Darl - you’ve got nothing to apologise for.

PIPPA

Irene’s right, Sweetheart - Troy’s the one in the wrong, not you.

But it’s cold comfort for CHLOE.

SALLY

I’ll get you a drink.

SALLY moves off, passing ALF, SARAH and FISHER, who are chatting. ALF takes the opportunity to ask:

ALF

How is she?

SALLY

A little shaken - but she’ll be okay...

SALLY continues on, as ALF looks back to the group, who are all filled with sympathy for CHLOE.

SARAH

The poor thing.

ALF's quick to try to buoy spirits again by changing the subject.

ALF

(to SARAH)

Sorry, love, you were telling us about your trip to Yankee-Land?

And the group all force themselves out of the moment:

SARAH

Yeah - Tug and I took the kids over for about a month. We stayed with Angel and Simon...

ALF

Ah, how are they?

SARAH

Fantastic. Angel’s just...glowing. She loves it over there.

ALF

And the kids?

SARAH

Well that’s just it - they’re hardly “kids” any more. Dylan’s a senior in high school -

ALF

You’re flamin’ kidding?!

SARAH

I know, it’s hard to believe, isn’t it?! And Shane’s in her first year.

ALF

Strewth... Where does the time go?

From nearby, DUNCAN's watching on, feeling isolated and alone. MITCH approaches.

MITCH

You right, mate?

DUNCAN snaps himself out of the reverie, then:

DUNCAN

Yeah. Another drink?

etc. etc.

And yes Slade, last time Barbara was in the bay she tried to kill Don - there was another scene in which she apologised for that but he didn't want to hear another word as he realised that she was sick at the time - she also revealed to him that Rebecca and Travis were expecting their second child, but again all of that was cut. It was immediately before the group picture was taken.

There were a few more cut scenes including:

- Blake and Sophie talking about Hayden and Karen, and reminiscing about the silly things they all got up to

- Blake giving a speech talking about Alf's foster kids that are now spread around the world

- Mitch telling Hayley that he was teaching music at a High School, and that he'd just got a new place with his fiance Kylie

What does the SR, G and D stand for?

I've sort of got Series Recurring, Guest, but can't work out what D means. Perhaps to differentiate a one episode guest from a multi-episode guest. Dingbat?

The first 2 are probably correct, but I'm not too sure on 'D' - I think its somewhere in between '50W' (50 Worder, the lowest type) and 'Guest'

In the Sally/Miles reveal ep for example:

D - Aaron, Miles Aged 8

50W - Diana, Nan, Neighbour, Sally Aged 2, Miles Aged 2

Me too.I thought at the time it was a bit odd that we saw Duncan apologising to Don but he didn't say a word to Barbara even though last time they met she tried to kill him.

Chloe was my one of my favourite characters I'm still mourning her death, I agree why couldn't they let them be happy? It was nice seeing all the old cast Mattie and Ric Beth! Tasha and Robbie I think in those days I liked every character in the bay!
