Rachel and Kim's divorce

I was watching an old episode of Home and Away the other day where Martha and Jack wanted a divorce but as they were married for less than 2 years they had to have marriage counselling. So I was wondering if it was ever mentioned about Rachel and Kim's divorce as they were married less than two years aswell and as far as I know they never had to go to marriage counselling. I find it a bit strange that they have one rule for one couple and another for another couple.

So can somebody please tell me if I have missed something about it.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. There was never any mention of Rachel and Kim's divorce in the show and it was definitely less than two years after she married Kim that she was supposed to marry Tony.Although I seem to remember Martha signed some document saying she refused counselling and that pushed the divorce through, so I suppose either Rachel or Kim might have done the same.

The fact that it wasn't even mentioned though after just previously having J&M divorce storyline showing all the hoops they'd have to jump through to get the divorce after being married less than 2 years was some really sloppy writing. Even a passing mention could have been added in, especially when we found out Rachel was planning to marry Tony like 4 months into the year.

No its never been mentioned about Kim and Rachel getting a divorve let alone going to councilling I think its bad script writing because to me any way wouldnt they think the viewers would pick up on this, I mean when Dan came into Summer Bay he was still married to Amanda and he told Leah as soon as his divorce came through he would ask her to marry him so I mean its not as though they dont know the rules.

Yeah, I think they could have at least mentioned it. Even if it was just one comment like Rachel telling Tony the divorce had come through or something.

Well, soaps are notoriously negligent when it comes to establishing which couples are divorced and which aren't.(I don't think it was ever established whether, for instance, Rhys and Beth ever got divorced.)And given that this is the show where Leah committed bigamy without anyone noticing, Kim and Rachel getting divorced off screen seems like a minor violation.

I don't think they have to mention every little detail of a characts life. Kim left her, so i think it's left for us to assume the divorce followed. Perahps you don't have to have councilling when your in circumstances like Rachel and Kim. He had another woman pregnant, she committed adultry....

It would have been nice to acknowledge the divorce but i guess the writers just simply forgot about it!!

I dont think they intentionally left it out and when every couple on soaps split theres always a "divorce paper " storyline
