Thank you guys for the comments. :) Here is the next chapter!...Only took like 2 and a half weeks to get done.

Chapter 21

“Why are you doing this?” Ryan asked as they drove past the “Now leaving Summer Bay” sign.

“I believe that her daughter should be there…” Nicole replied, turning on the radio “Rebecca told me it breaks her inside to know that she doesn‘t see her daughter”

“Do you reckon she knows about all the letters? Like, even the current ones?” Ryan questioned while Nicole read over the letters.

“I don‘t know, to be honest. Seems like her and John just write to one another about how she is doing.”

“Do you think this might not go according to plan?” Ryan worried, thinking Sasha wouldn’t want to know anything.

“Every second for the past few weeks…”Nicole was being honest. What if all of this was a waste of time? What is Sasha couldn’t forgive Rebecca for not being a good mother? Nicole sat back in the seat thinking about what could go wrong and what kind of conversation she was going to have with her future step-sister in just a couple of hours.

“Hey” Ryan whispered as he took one arm from the wheel and onto Nicole’s thigh “Just relax until then.” he smiled

Nicole smiled back, he was right. She needed to calm down until they reached the city

*

“Um, where is Nicole?” Rebecca asked Roman while coming down the stairs.

Roman, who was watching the football on the television responded “She is staying at a friends tonight. Rang a while ago. Why?”

“Ah, I just wanted to ask her something…” Rebecca smiled walking towards fiancé.

“Such as?” Roman asked grabbing a handful of popcorn from a bowl he had on front of him

“I wanted her to be my maid of honour” Rebecca sat him Roman’s arms, awaiting a response.

“Didn‘t you ask her once before?”

“Roman, that was a completely different time!” Rebecca snapped. She stood up and folded her arms. “We have come so far since then, why would you even say that?”

“Sorry, honey” Roman knew he had hit a delicate spot. He stood up, put his arms around her and kissed her.

“I think she would like to be, don‘t you?” Rebecca wondered as she once again sat back down with Roman on the couch.

“Are you serious? Dressing up in a stunning dress? Get to be at the top of the room? Hair done and make-up by a professional?” Roman laughed “That is so my daughter‘s thing”

“So that‘s a yes?!” Rebecca was dying for Nicole to come back the next day so she would be able to ask her.

“I think so” Roman smirked and kissed Rebecca’s cheek “Now, if you don‘t mind….football” he winked and set his eyes back on the television.

Rebecca rolled her eyes “I think I will ban football from the house when we marry”

“Never going to happen” Roman laughed

*

Ryan turned off the engine of the car. The two sat in the car staring at the house in front of them. Nicole looked back to check if her mum was at home. She didn’t want her mum to catch her up here at 10 o’clock at night. There would be a lot of questions. Thankfully, her car wasn’t in the driveway.

“Are you going to go in then?”

“Yeah, yeah. Give me a minute!” Nicole snapped. She was very nervous.

“Sorry I asked…” Ryan replied annoyed

“I‘m sorry Ryan. I‘m just nervous” Nicole turned and looked at him “I am very grateful that you took me here.”

After a few moments, she knew she needed to do this. Or else it would be too late to go to the house. She got out of the car, with Ryan wishing her good luck. She had the letters in one hand and her bag in the other. Slowly she walked up to the front door. She knocked, there was no turning back. A tall brunette answered the door - this had to be Sasha. She was the imagine of her, all her facial features were the same as Rebecca’s.

“Are you Sasha?” Nicole asked

“Um, yes. And who are you?”

“I‘m Nicole, although that name means nothing to you, I know. But I know more about you than you would me” Nicole rambled on, not knowing what to say

“What do you want?” Sasha asked, staring at the blonde in front of her.

“My dad…” Nicole paused “…My dad is marrying your mum in two weeks”

“Excuse me? Who are you?!” Sasha barked, who was this girl in front of her?

“Well, it depends how you look at it. See, right now, nobody. In two weeks, your step-sister” Nicole laughed at herself. By the look on Sasha’s face, she wasn’t too pleased.

“Look, can I please come in?” Nicole begged “I can explain everything”

Sasha hesitated at first. Eventually she invited Nicole in. The two girls sat in the living room and Nicole started to explain herself

“…So you went on a search to find me?” Sasha was stunned as she looked over the letters that her father wrote to her mother.

“I felt like you should be at the wedding, Sasha. It kills your mum everyday that you aren‘t in her life the way you should be” Nicole told Sasha was Rebecca told her.

“I don‘t know…This could get messy” Sasha was unsure about weather to go or not.

“Your mum and dad write every couple of months. And have continued to do so for the past 7 years. Your father has giving the address changes. I think Rebecca is just scared you will hate her for the mistakes she made in the past” Nicole responded as she looked over some of the letters

“Does my mum know you are here?”

“No, she doesn‘t. But I plan on telling her about this, I really do! I don‘t want you to turn up and have Rebecca faint on her wedding day” Nicole sniggered.

As time went on, Sasha was coming more around to the idea. She did miss having a mum or a mother figure since her dad never have a girlfriend for more than a couple of months. She needed more time though. She didn’t want to make a decision on the spot.

“Look, here is my number” Nicole said as she wrote it down on a piece of paper. “Your mum would love for you to be there, I just know it!”

“I‘ll think about it.” Sasha smiled.

Nicole stood up and left the house. She waved at Sasha and got into the car. She hoped she would hear from her soon and hoped that Sasha would be there at the wedding day.

“How did it go?”

“Good, I think” Nicole replied “We will just have to see though”

The two went on their way back to Summer Bay. Nicole was staying at Ryan’s since she couldn’t come home in the middle of the night. Once they reached Summer Bay, they both went straight to bed. Nicole in Ryan’s bed, wishing Ryan was with her cuddling her. However, he was on the floor…wishing the same thing.

Chapter 22

Dear Diary,

Today is the day. After all this time, all this pain…today is finally here. December 17th 2008. I’m scared, nervous, worried. Aden has been asking me every five minutes how I am. It’s sweet but gets very annoying at times. I know he is only looking out for me. But I know at the end of this I will be okay.

I don’t know what the verdict will be. I don’t know how long he will get. I don’t even know if I will be able to go and watch the sentencing. Aden, I know is going. He just can’t wait to see the back of his father. I don’t think he understands how difficult this has been. But I guess, I have been making out I have been doing fine. Secretly, I’m torn apart over this entire ordeal. To the point where I have thought about leaving Summer Bay. I keep thinking I can start again, once more, somewhere else. But I have friends here, I have people who love and care about me here, I have Aden. And Irene. Will I ever be able to have an easy life?

For now, this is goodbye. It‘s going to be a long day...

Belle locked up her diary and placed in it the back of her wardrobe as Aden walked in with breakfast. He was doing it again, waiting on her hand and foot. She sat in her bed while Aden placed the tray on the bed.

“You need to stop doing this” Belle laughed as she gave him a cuddle.

“Just looking after my girl” Aden smirked as he moved to sit beside Belle

“Oh, I‘m your girl?” she winked, with a big grin on her face.

Aden leaned him and suddenly began tickling Belle. Belle was struggling to break from his arms, screaming and laughing at the same time. “Yes, you‘re my girl!” Aden said and continued to tickle her.

The tray fell to the floor, unexpectedly causing Irene to rush into the room. Once she saw Aden tickling Belle and nobody had hurt themselves, she walked away rolling her eyes and saying “Clean that up!”

Eventually Aden let Belle go. She sat in bed watching him clean up the breakfast which he made for her that ended up on the floor from his antics.

“So, what time are we going at?” Aden asked, picking up the last of the breakfast.

“Um, I don‘t know. Ask Irene” Belle replied as she got out of bed walking straight into the bathroom, wanting to avoid this conversation.

Aden walked into the kitchen where Irene was cleaning up.

“Is Belle alright?” Irene asked, taking the tray from Aden.

“I don‘t know Irene” Aden worried, looking at the bathroom door “She just walked off straight away when I asked her what time we are leaving at.”

“Probably just scared, she will come out in a couple of minutes” Irene replied, thinking positively.

Inside the bathroom, Belled was sitting in the bath with the water running down her face, rocking back and forward to flashbacks of that horrific night. Tears poured from her eyes. She tried to keep the crying down as low as she could so Irene and Aden couldn’t hear her. Unbeknown to her, Aden was outside the door listening to her crying. This was tearing him apart listening to her. He knocked on the door and walked in. He broke down into tears watching Belle sitting there, going back and forward. He grabbed a towel and put it around her, turning off the water at the same time.

“I…I can‘t do it Aden” Belle wept “I can‘t go later”

“Babe, it‘s okay!” Aden held her as tight as he could “It‘s okay, it‘s okay” He continued to whisper.

It was decided. Aden wouldn’t be going to the sentencing. He was not leaving Belle alone at home. He put Belle into bed and went and explained to Irene what happened. They agreed that she would go and he would stay here with her. She was in no condition to be on her own.

Irene left after a while. Aden sat in the bedroom with Belle. He wanted to do something special for her, but wasn’t sure what would make her cheer up. He asked to watch a movie, go for a walk, call Geoff around, go for something to eat. All she wanted to do was be there, lying on her bed.

*

Nicole was in her bedroom, getting changed. As she was applying her make-up on, Rebecca knocked on her door and walked in.

“Heyy” Rebecca smiled “You look pretty today”

“Thanks. I‘m -” Nicole stopped. She wasn’t going to tell Rebecca she was trying impress Ryan.

“That Ryan guy you have been hanging out with?”

Nicole was surprised. She was good, got it in one. “How did you know?”

Rebecca walked over to her bed and sat down while replying “Ah, Nic. A mother always knows…” she paused before going on.

Nicole laughed “It‘s okay! Really, you will be in a week anyway”

“I have been meaning to ask you something, Nicole” Rebecca started, hoping Nicole would accept.

“Yeah, what is it?” Nicole asked, searching her make-up bag for her lip-gloss.

“Nicole, I‘d love if you would be my maid of honour”

Nicole stopped what she was doing. She looked at Rebecca in the mirror and smiled. Turning around, she gave Rebecca a hug and accepted “Oh! I‘d love to be your maid of honour Bec!”

After a few minutes of discussing the dress and the wedding, the two girls came down stairs. Ryan was picking Nicole put and taking her to his house for lunch. He was waiting patiently in the living room with Roman. The two seemed to be chatting away nicely. Rebecca dragged Roman into the kitchen to give the pair some along time

“You look great!” Ryan smiled and hugged Nicole.

“Have fun guys” Rebecca shouted from the kitchen

Nicole waved goodbye and left the house with Ryan. Roman looked on as his daughter got into the car. She had grown into such a beautiful young woman. She had come so far in the past couple of months.

“What did she say?” Roman asked as Rebecca walked in with two glasses of water for herself and Roman.

“She accepted!” Rebecca replied excitedly.

Ryan and Nicole stopped off at the shop to pick up some things for lunch. They messed around in the store, flirting like crazy. They both really felt a connection with each other. They continued on the way to Ryan’s house. Once they reached the house, they went inside to the kitchen were Geoff and Kyle were.

“Oh! Hello!” Nicole greeted her friends.

Ryan went off to prepare food while Nicole caught up with Geoff and Kyle. She set out the table while chatting to them.

“What are your plans for today?” Nicole asked the boys.

“We were going to go and see Belle in a while, Larry is getting sentenced today…” Geoff replied, hoping it will be a long sentence.

“Oh gosh! I better give her a call later on.” Nicole replied writing a reminder on her hand.

“You know, we do have paper” Kyle laughed, handing her paper.

“Yeah and you know Nic. She will walk off with the paper” Geoff joked, laughing at her

“Not if you put it in her make-up bag” Ryan teased, while cutting up the peppers.

“Ugh, you guys are so mean to me. This is bullying!” Nicole rolled her eyes at them.

“Ah, we love you really” Geoff replied, standing up and hugging her tightly.

“Geoff! Can‘t. Breathe.” Nicole struggled to say

“He does that to me a lot. I don‘t know why he hugs so tightly” Kyle questioned his boyfriends hugging skills.

“And I couldn‘t tell you why I do, just do!” Geoff finally let go of Nicole “Well, I think we should head off and let you guys have your lunch”

“Sounds like a good idea. Come on” Kyle called after Geoff was he walked out the door saying goodbye.

“Later guys. Have fun and behave yourselves” Geoff winked at Nicole who blushed.

She went and helped Ryan with the food. They both started to eat, talking about different things.

“It sucks how you have to go back to uni soon” Nicole said sadly.

“Yeah, but we can still be…” he paused “…What are we exactly?”

Nicole blushed once again. “What do you want to be?”

“I think we both know there is something here…” Kyle leaned in to kiss Nicole slowly. Just as their lips were about to meet, the doorbell went. Both parted and giggled.

“Probably Kyle, forgetting his keys” Ryan laughed standing up.

“Yeah, probably” Nicole replied just as her phone rang. Ryan walked out to the hall as she answered her phone. “Sasha! Hello, how are you doing?! ”

Ryan opened the door, his face dropped.

“Hello Ryan”

“Tia…”

Nicole ran out from the kitchen “She is coming to the wed- ” Nicole stopped when she saw a tall black-haired girl standing in front of Ryan.

Belle finally decided it was time to leave the house. The pair left for Yabbie Creek. Belle still needed to find the prefect present for Aden and she was sure she found the present. As he went into the supermarket, she walked into the jeweller’s to get his gift. She managed to get out before he did. He would never know she was there until Christmas morning when she would give him the gift.

“Get everything you needed?” She asked as he walked out of the supermarket.

“Everything and more” Aden smiled, pulling out Ben and Jerry’s for Belle.

“Oooo, I love it!!” Belle pulled it out of his hands. It was her favourite ice-cream. Just what she needed. She hoped now Aden would be up for watching The Notebook, that would just make her day.

As they walked to the car, Aden’s mobile rang. He got into the car and answered it. “Oh, hey Irene. How are you do-”

After a few minutes he hung up the phone. Belle sat in silence. She knew what was coming next.

“He got 15 years!”

Belle and Aden’s face both lit up. They hugged immediately. This was it, the start of their lives together. They were free of him. They hoped he would rot away in prison. Because they refused to allow him into their lives anymore. Belle was able to genuinely smile for the first time in a long time when she heard the news. Both were relieved at the sentencing and believed justice was served.

Chapter 23

The Harris household was like a bomb site on Christmas Eve. The night before the wedding had arrived and Rebecca wanted everything to be prefect. Everything was everywhere, much to Rebecca’s dismay. She was turning into bride-zilla, roaring and shouting at Nicole and anyone else who was there. After hours of making everything ready to just get up and go on the morning, Nicole finally sat down for the first time the entire day.

She lay on her bed staring at her phone. She had three missed calls. Didn’t need to look who it was. She knew - Ryan. They hadn’t spoken since Tia arrived at his house. Nicole immediately left the house, not giving him a chance to explain. She had been hurt too many times in the past by guys, she wasn’t allowing herself to get hurt once again.

Nicole decided to give Sasha a ring, just to check she was coming. Even though she told Sasha, Rebecca would know she was coming, she hadn’t. Any chance Nicole got, she would chicken out and get scared about the reaction. She waited for Sasha to pick up her phone, while laying on the bed.

“Hello”

“Hey! It‘s Nicole”

“Oh hello! Just been getting my outfit ready for tomorrow” Sasha said happily

“So you are definitely coming?” Nicole asked cheerfully.

“I wouldn‘t miss it for the world!” Sasha assured Nicole.

The girls chatted for a couple of minutes afterwards. Sasha seemed very excited about coming to see her mum. Nicole was getting more worried by the minute about how the day was going to go. She was hoping so much that it would all be prefect. Nicole placed her phone on her locker while she got changed. As she was getting into bed, it rang. She rolled her eyes looking at the name. It was him, once again. He must have more than thirty times since the other day.

Her phone beeped a couple of minutes suddenly. She had a new voicemail. She debating to herself if she should listen to it or not. Dialling the number, she was still unsure about wanting to hear what he had to say.

“Nic, please answer your phone. We really need to speak. Its funny because I don‘t even know what I would say if you did even though I have rang you so much….I‘m sorry! I didn‘t know Tia would come here. She is my ex-girlfriend. We broke up just before Christmas break. And I don’t intend to getting back with her. We are over and I am over her. See the thing is, I have these feelings for this stunning blonde. I just wish she’d answer her phone…You know where I am, bye”

She admitted to herself she missed Ryan. They did have something special. And she wanted to call in but her past relationships with guys was stopping her. What if he hurt me like everyone else, she thought to herself. Another way she looked at it was maybe it was time she moved on and future in her life. Forgot the past entirely and rang him. To say she was confused was an understatement. It was time for bed, she thought to herself. Tomorrow was going to be a long day. And hopefully it would all go according to plan…

*

Christmas arrived and Santa had come to the Bay. Aden awoke Belle gently. It was the first Christmas where he knew he would have an amazing day with the ones he loved. Belle kissed Aden before getting out of bed and getting his present from the wardrobe.

“I think it‘s the right gift…” Belle smiled watching Aden open the little black box “It‘s a promise ring”

“Belle, I love it!” Aden smiled and gave his girlfriend a kiss.

“I know usually it’s the girl who gets the promise ring…Or any ring from the guy but we aren’t an ordinary couple, are we?!” Belle smirked.

“We most certainly are not!” Aden nodded in agreement

“Aden, we have been through so much these past couple of months and I don‘t ever want to lose you…” Belle looked into Aden’s eyes intensely so that he would listen to the words that she was saying “I want to be with you for ever and ever”

Aden leaned in and thanked Belle for the gift while whispering in her ear “I promise never to leave you…”

He got up off the bed and grabbed a neatly wrapped box from under the bed.

“Ah, I didn‘t look under there!” Belle giggled as Aden handed it to her. She opened it up to reveal stunning black dress. It was knee length with diamonds on the shoulders, going around the neck line. It was beautiful and must have cost Aden a fortune.

“I was thinking you may want something new for the wedding” Aden suggested for her to wear it later on.

“That is a great idea! Thank you Aden” Belle smiled and gave him a kiss.

The pair went into Irene who was making the breakfast for them. Each of them exchanged their gifts to each other before going to get ready for the wedding.

*

It was coming up to midday. The wedding would be starting any minute. Nicole was waiting outside, her stomach turning every time a car would pass the church. Sasha would arrive at any second. The church music started as Rebecca finally arrived. Her dress was stunning. It was fitted, to suit her slim/slender figure. It was time to walk - without a sign of Sasha. Nicole was disappointed but in a way relieved she wouldn’t any explaining to do.

Rebecca reached the top of the alter where Roman was smiling at his beautiful bride to be. The music stopped and everyone was seated. Just as the priest spoke, the church door opened. Nicole swung around, knowing what was next. Sasha walked in, trying not to get noticed by anyone but it was too late. Rebecca dropped her bouquet of flowers.

“Sasha?!”

Everyone turned around. Nobody knew who this girl was apart from Rebecca, Nicole and Roman. Sasha stood there. She didn’t think her mother would react in this way, she was supposed to know. She looked at Nicole who mouthed “I‘m sorry” to her. Sasha walked backwards, towards the door. She ran out of the door. Back in the church Rebecca was shell-shocked.

“I‘ll be back in a minute!” she whispered to Roman and ran after her daughter.

All the guests watched Rebecca running away not knowing what was going on. Just as she reached the door she shouted “Don‘t worry folks! That man, at the top of the alter, isn‘t getting away from me that easily. Be right back!”

The crowd chuckled while Roman glared at Nicole. He didn’t seem to pleased. Nicole walked up to her father and gave him a hug and started to tell him everything.

Outside, Sasha was getting into her car. The tears were pouring down her face. Rebecca stood out in front of the car so she couldn’t move.

Sasha got out of the car. She walked slowly towards her mother. They didn’t need to say anything. She opened her arms and hugged her daughter tightly. It had been seven years. Seven long years since she seen her.

“Oh mum! Please don‘t cry! You‘ll ruin your make-up”

Rebecca laughed while she wiped away her tears. “What are you doing here?!”

“Nicole was supposed to tell you I was coming” Sasha replied rolling her eyes thinking what kind of sister she was about to get.

“Why don‘t you tell me what is going on?! How does Nicole know you?” There were so many unanswered questions that Rebecca needed to know so she could understand.

“Mum, you have an amazing man waiting for you. I think these questions can wait until after, don‘t you?”

Rebecca agreed. Whatever happened, however they knew each other, it could all wait until the reception. Mother and daughter walked into the church. Sasha sat in beside Nicole and Rebecca stood at the alter once again. The priest began.

“Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today in the presence of these witnesses, to join Rebecca Anne Johnson and Roman John Harris in matrimony…”

Nicole was glad Sasha came in the end. Whatever happened outside seemed to have gone well. She couldn’t have been happier. Everything was going right, for once. Everything, apart Ryan. She needed to make up her mind. He was leaving a couple of days after New Years Day. Was he the right guy for her? Would he make her happy? Did he care for her? Nicole knew the answers to all her questions were “yes”.

The ceremony ended, the crowd cheered as Rebecca and Roman walked down the aisle. After a couple of minutes, the photographs started. Roman, Rebecca and Nicole stood by the trees around the church. Nicole grabbed Sasha into the pictures - to make it seem like a real family.

“Okay, people! Reception is at the Surf club. Everyone is more than welcome!” Nicole announced as everyone headed to the surf club for the afters.

Chapter 24

The reception was in full swing. Roman and Rebecca were sitting at the top table with Nicole and Sasha on either side of them. They were chatting about how Nicole found Sasha.

“Nic, I can‘t thank you enough for reuniting me with my daughter” Rebecca wept and gave her new step daughter a hug.

“Mum! Again with the tears. Make-up! Hello!!” Sasha pointed out.

“Sorry, sorry, sorry!” Rebecca apologised while wiping the tears away.

“We can all be a proper family now” Roman smiled “That is if you would like to see more of Summer Bay, Sasha”

“I‘d love too!” Sasha responded happily. “Didn‘t think this would where I would be on Christmas day”

“I don‘t think any of us did” Nicole laughed “Come on, Sasha. I‘ll introduce you to my friends” Nicole added. The two girls stood up and walked over to the table that Belle, Aden, Geoff and Kyle were sitting at.

“This is Sasha, guys! She is my sister now” Nicole beamed

Everyone said hello and the two sisters sat down. Nicole looked on, watching Sasha getting on with her friends. They all seemed to like her. Who wouldn’t? She had a fantastic personality. Nicole’s bag vibrated. She opened it and took out her phone to see that Ryan was calling her.

“Oi, pick up that damn phone!” Kyle said watching Nicole staring at the phone. “He really does miss you”

“Yeah, Nic…I saw him the other day.” Belle agreed “He is so upset about what happened and just wants to explain”

Nicole hesitated from a second. She walked away from the table and answered it.

“Hello…” she said quietly.

“Nicole! Finally!!!” Nicole could hear the excitement in his voice

“Um...I don‘t - ”

“Don‘t say anything. Come outside. Onto the beach” Ryan told her.

Nicole rushed outside and down onto the beach. “Um...what am I supposed to be looking -” She turned around and saw Ryan on the sand. She walked towards to him, her heart sinking. As she reached him, she noticed a rose in his hand. She couldn’t help but smile.

“Look…” Ryan pointed out to the sand which read “Will you please be my girlfriend?”

Nicole hugged him and whispered into his ear “Yes.”

The pair embraced in a kiss “I just wanted to say how sorry -”

“Don’t ruin the moment” Nicole replied and continued to kiss her new boyfriend.

“Oh this is for you” Ryan said after they pulled away from her, handing her the rose “Kyle said it would be a good idea”

“He was right, roses are my favourite” Nicole smiled thanking him.

They walked up to the beach and into the surf club where the gang cheered that they were finally together. They sat down and Sasha and Ryan were introduced. After a while, Roman got everyone’s attention for the speeches.

“First of all, I want to thank everyone who has come here. It means a lot to myself and Rebecca that our friends and family have all come out today. Today has been prefect!”

The crowd clapped their hands. Roman waited for a minute before continuing.

“Secondly, my wife. My beautiful wife” Roman turned to Rebecca “I hope you have had the best day ever, because I know I have. We have had some set backs over the years we have known each other. But look what has happened now, we have come out on top. I love you and always will”

Rebecca stood up and gave her husband a kiss. She sat back down to let Roman finish his speech

“Lastly, my daughter. Nicole. We have a had tough time but now we are better than ever. You‘re my baby girl, and don‘t ever forget that. You have matured into a beautiful young woman lately and I have never been more prouder of you. I love you sweetheart.”

Nicole ran up to give her father a quick hug because running back down to her seat.

“Also, Sasha. It has been a major shock for you to come here today. Rebecca and I didn‘t had any idea you would be here but Nicole was right when she said you should be here. Now I have gained another daughter and I look forward to getting to know you better, as well as having you over to your second home at any time.”

Nicole looked at Sasha. She was in floods of tears. Never did she think everyone would accept her as much as they all have.

Roman sat down and Rebecca stood up for her speech.

“I think I’ll keep this short and sweet. Today has been the best day of my life. Not only have I just married the man of my dreams, I have gained two daughters being Nicole and my Sasha. Thank you Nicole for bringing her back to me. Thank you to everyone who has come here today. I hope you all have a terrific day and night! Lastly, I have an announcement to make.”

There was a pause. Rebecca smiled and took a deep breathe. “While together I have gained two children, in about eight months, there will be another running around the Harris household. I‘m pregnant!”

Roman spat his drink out all over the table. He immediately stood up and hugged his wife. Nicole and Sasha ran up to the table. Everyone congratulated Roman and Rebecca on their news. News which nobody, not even Roman knew.

“Are you serious?!” he still couldn’t believe the news, hours after.

“Deadly serious, darling” Rebecca laughed at her drunk husband. “We are going to have a baby”

“I swear if that baby wakes me up during the night, I‘m moving out!” Nicole joked.

“Oh, well you‘ll be sharing a room” Roman teased, as he was getting another drink.

“That is not even funny!” Nicole replied seriously, praying they were joking.

“Hey, Nicole. That boy over there is looking at you…” Rebecca said to her knowing it was Ryan but wanting to meet him.

“Come over!!”

Ryan stood up and walked over. He was introduced to Rebecca and Roman properly. She never introduced them Ryan came to the house. For the first time Roman liked Nicole’s boyfriend. He seemed polite and respectful.

Nicole walked over to where her friends were sitting. “Well, today has been such a great day!”

“And now you have a gorgeous new boyfriend!” Geoff winked “I think I went after the wrong brother” he added as Kyle tapped him

“He is certainly something else!” Nicole stared at him “Just wonder what is going to happen next”

“That is something you have to discuss with him really, isn‘t it?” Belle told her. “I guess there comes a point in all relationships when you have to discuss where your relationship is going”

“Well that is for another day! I don‘t want to get into deep conversations on this fantastic day”

Ryan joined the table “Your father is a very pleasant man!”

“I think that‘s a good thing” Nicole laughed

“Hey guys, just got a text from Stacy from our class.” Aden interrupted “There is a new years eve party on the beach”

“Looks like we have made our new years eve plans!” Geoff said as everyone else agreed with him.

There was a week to go until New Years Eve. For each of the teens, it was going to be a night to remember.

A big thank you to anyone who has read this fic. Weather it was one chapter, two chapters. Five chapters or the entire twenty-five, thank you very much. (: This is dedicated to all you, who have read the fic!

Chapter 25

It was two days prior to New Years Eve. Geoff was walking to his last counselling session - with Kyle by his side. He felt it was right to have him there. It was him who wanted Kyle there. They walked into the office in Yabbie Creek where Geoff checked in. He sat down, holding is boyfriends hand. As his doctor came out, they both stood up and walked into the room. As they all got comfortable, Kyle was introduced to Geoff’s counsellor.

“This is Dr. Lucy Kennedy.” Geoff announced to his boyfriend “And this is Kyle…who you have heard so much about”

“Hello, lovely to meet you” Kyle smiled “And I hope all good things!!”

Lucy chuckled “Yes, indeed. It is great to finally meet the person who has been making Geoff very happy the past couple of months. How was your Christmas Geoff?”

“It was great. I had a wonderful time. I went to a wedding on Christmas day. A friends father was getting married.”

“And was it that positive atmosphere, we have been talking about?” Lucy asked while making notes.

Kyle looked on while Geoff answered any questions Lucy was asking him “Yes, absolutely! I haven‘t done…done that for a long time…”

“I‘m pleased to hear that but you know how this works, Geoff.” Lucy smiled still writing notes “But I just have to make sure all is going good”

“I really think things are going to be great.” Geoff turned to Kyle “I‘m so looking forward to spending 2009 with Kyle, my friends and my family”

“How do you think your mum is handling your sexuality these days?” Lucy asked.

Geoff thought for a second “Honestly, I think pretty well. It was hard at the start but has been alright for now”

“Personally I think she has finally accepted Geoff for he who is” Kyle said as he sat up straight in his chair.

“I have to agree with Kyle” Geoff replied “I think she finally has…”

“Over the past couple of months, I have seen a real change in you and how you are doing, Geoffrey” Lucy started “This is why I feel you don‘t need to see me anymore”

“Really?” Geoff wasn’t sure he was ready to go out into the world alone. It was very helpful him for him to come here each week and speak to Lucy about how everything was going for him.

“If you ever want to come and see me, you are more than welcome! You always know where I am, Geoff” Lucy assured him “For now, I don‘t think you need me. You have come so far, and I so proud of what you have achieved.”

“Wow, thank you! I do have a great boyfriend now and a great family life. Many of that thanks to you. I don‘t know how I can thank you”

Lucy laughed “Geoff, you don‘t have to thank me. Knowing I have helped you is good enough for me.”

Geoff walked out of the counsellors office feeling refreshed. With Kyle by his side, the pair walked down the street discussing what they would have for lunch.

Belle sat on her bed reading over her dairy from start to finish. The last entry being about how much fun she had at Rebecca and Roman’s wedding. She grabbed a pen and began to write her latest entry

Dear Diary,

I have been thinking about taking things with Aden to the next step. We have both had a tough past when it comes to these kind of things and well I guess hearing Larry got what he deserved made me want to be with Aden forever and ever. I just don’t want to let him go. He has been here for me since the start. Before I came to the Bay, he was this hard tough guy who wouldn’t look at someone like Geoff. I guess I have a good influence on people!

Aden is out at the moment. But when he comes home, I think we should have a talk about the next level in our relationship…

Another thing on my mind is this. You, diary. You have been my escape. You have giving me hope. I think it could be time to say goodbye now. Life is so much better. I’m…I’m so much better. I don’t feel the need to have to write down everything I’m feeling to cope. I have family and friends there for me. I have Aden too. I just can’t make up my mind if I’m able to let go of you yet…

Belle closed over her diary. She put it in her bag and left the house. As she strolled along down the road, she saw Leah and VJ outside. He was playing on a new bike which Belle assumed Santa left him. She wished she could have that. Have a beautiful son or daughter when she was older. For the first time, she could see herself getting married and having children. Something she never thought she would have or would get. Although saying that to Aden may just freak him out, she thought to herself. She’d leave that for a couple of years.

Belle reached the diner where Irene was on her shift with Colleen. Colleen was rambling on about something, as usual Irene wasn’t listening. She walked over to Belle grabbed a seat at the window. She took out her phone and texted Aden to meet her at the diner when he was coming home.

“Hey girlie! What are you doing today love?”

“Waiting for Aden” Belle replied as she looked at the menu “I texted him to meet me here”

“Where is he gone too?” Irene asked as she sat down beside Belle

“Oh, I have no idea” Belle chuckled “You know him, Irene. Disappears and then reappears!”

“That is Aden alright.” Irene responded while looking at Colleen over at the counter “I better go help her, girlie”

“No problem, Irene. I‘ll just have a coffee, thanks”

Irene took note of Belle’s order and went over to help Colleen. She watched out the window for Aden to appear, getting more nervous by the second. She didn’t know how he would react to her idea about the next level. She watched as Nicole and Ryan were walking towards the diner. They seemed very happy, walking hand in hand.

Nicole and Ryan walked into the diner, laughing and joking like little school children. They waved at Belle and sat beside her.

“Hey! You still up for the beach party?” Nicole asked, as Ryan went and got them drinks.

“Definitely! New years is going to be brilliant” Belle replied excited to see the back of 2008.

“2009 is going to be our year, I can tell” Nicole said “Both have it tough and we came out shining”

“Yes, we did. I feel we have each other to thank for that”

Ryan returned to the table, where the girls were deep in conversation about what had happened since they became friends.

“It pains me to think I used to make poor Annie do my homework” Nicole said disgusted at how she used to me.

“But you are a lovely person now!” Belle replied, trying to make her not feel so bad.

“And sexy!” Ryan interrupted “Don‘t forget sexy”

Nicole and Belle laughed at what Ryan said. Belle continued to look out the window wondering where Aden was, getting slightly worried now. Irene came over to the table, giving them their drinks. Belle drank up her coffee, still thinking about Aden.

“You seem down today?” Nicole noticed wondering if her friend was okay.

“Just Aden. I haven‘t seen him all day. He left this morning but hasn‘t returned” Belle said worrying.

“You know Aden, Belle. He‘ll be fine” Nicole assured him hiding that she knew where Aden was and what he was doing.

“Nic, I hate to interrupt but we have dinner booked for four.” Ryan said looking at the time which read quarter past three.

“Oh yes! Belle, don‘t be worrying about him. I‘m sure he will walk into that door any second now” Nicole replied as she walked out saying goodbye to Belle.

Belle sat looking at the clock. Twenty past three came. Three thirty. Twenty to four came and went. Belle was tired of waiting. She picked up her phone and rang Aden. It rang out before going to voicemail.

“Aden, it‘s Belle. Um…Where are you? I‘m getting really worried…Please call me and let me know you are okay…Love you”

Belle hung up. She took a deep breath, said goodbye to Irene and started to walk home. Coming out of the diner car park, she saw Aden driving down the road in his car. She didn’t know if she should be annoyed at him or thankful he was safe. He pulled in and got out of the car.

“Where have you been?!” Belle shouted at her boyfriend as he walked over to her.

“Hey, hey!” Aden laughed and tried to calm her down “I had to run an arrant”

“Aden, I have been so worried about you!”

“I know, I just listened to the voicemail when I came into the Bay.” Aden replied and he and Belle walked over to the car.

“So, what have you been doing?” Belle questioned, with her arms folded.

“Getting this…” he said reaching into the boot of the car, taking a copy of Forrest Gump out.

“It took you all day to get a DVD of Forrest Gump?” Belle responded not believing that it would take all day to get one DVD.

Aden chuckled “No silly! Basically, if you remember way back it was the first movie we watched together…”

Belle smiled and blushed. She remembered, how could she forget.

“Well, I wanted for us to watch it tonight if you were up for it so went to Blockbuster to get it. However I wanted it a copy we could keep but they didn‘t have any for sale.”

“Aden, I am not following…” Belle said slightly confused at what he was getting at.

“Blockbuster rang their branch in the city after I explained how much this movie meant to me and they said they had a couple of copies”

“You went to the city?” Belle asked as she took the DVD from him.

“So, I decided what the hell! Drove to the city, got the DVD, may have taken all day…but it‘s worth it to see that smile on your face”

“Aden Jefferies, you are the cheesiest guy I have ever met!” Belle laughed and then gave him a quick hug and kiss.

“Hey, you love it and you know it babe” Aden smiled, looking into his loving girlfriends eyes.

“Yes, yes I do indeed love it and you…” Belle paused before continuing on.

“Everything okay, darlin‘?” Aden asked his scared looking girlfriend.

“I have been thinking about me and you, is all…And” Belle laughed at herself “Ah it doesn‘t matter”

“No, no. It does, please continue!” Aden urged her to say what she was going to say

“I know we haven‘t been together for very long but I was thinking…thinking about…”

“Belle, just say it!” Aden said to her, urging her once again

“Taking it to the next level…” Belle waited for his reaction.

“Are you sure you want to take things a step further?” Aden had to make sure this was really want she wanted and wasn’t just pressured into sleeping with him. He wanted it to be when they were both ready.

Belle smiled at Aden‘s caring side “Yes, I‘m so sure about this Aden. This is what I want. And if you want it also…”

“Babe, I‘d be more than happy to take things further with you” Aden smiled.

“There is one problem though” Belle smirked watching Aden’s reaction to what she was about to say.

“And what is that?”

You have to make a trip to the chemist and get condoms!” Belle teased as Aden laughed

“You can come with me” Aden winked “Shall we get just plain ones…or a fruity kind?!”

Belle burst out laughing “What you want to get, Aden!”

“And what about, well when?” Aden questioned.

“I was thinking New Years Eve would be perfect. A new start to go with a new level in our relationship” Belle ran her idea by Aden, hoping he would be okay with it.

“That sounds perfect!” Aden smiled.

The couple got into Aden’s car. They drove back home and sat down for the evening watching Forrest Gump. It was a perfect evening and each hoped that New Years Eve would be the perfect night for them.

Whilst Belle and Aden were at home watching a movie and discussing their next step in their relationship, Nicole and Ryan were having dinner in Yabbie Creek. They were also discussing their relationship and what would happen once Ryan returns to university.

“You can visit anytime, Nic!” Ryan assured her knowing she was worrying it wouldn’t work out “You are always welcome”

“I suppose its good that your family is here also. Means you will be coming back here a lot, yeah?” Nicole asked, hoping the answer would be what she wanted to be

“Of course I would be here. Any mid-terms and holidays I‘ll be here.” Ryan smiled “Nic, we have to give this a chance. I know it will be hard but we both want to be with each other, right?”

Nicole nodded in agreement. “Well then, we can do this!” Ryan grabbed her hand “You have to promise me that you will give what you can to this”

“Absolutely! I want to make this work, so much!” Nicole promised she would do her best and Ryan agreed he would also

“That is settled then. We are going to make our relationship work” Ryan smiled.

Nicole was happy to be with Ryan. While agreeing was the easy part, making it work was the difficult part. But she knew she wanted to be with Ryan and wasn’t going to let anything ruin what they had.

New Years Eve arrived. The gang were all at home getting ready while Belle and Aden were also preparing for their big night they had planned. As the hours went by, they both become anxious. The beach party started around 10 O’clock. Ryan and Nicole met Belle and Aden at the diner and they walked down to the beach together. There, they met Geoff and Kyle where had been there for ages.

It was great to see everyone from school, every person seemed to be having a good time and looking forward to the new year. While before, Geoff wouldn’t ever speak to any of his class mates, he didn’t have a problem with engaging in a conversation with them. He was glad to introduce Kyle to them.

Nicole ran into her old friends Jessica and Sarah. She was introduced to Ryan who they said they proved of, much to Nicole’s delight! The girls had a quick chat about Ryan before he returned with a beer for each of the girls.

It was coming up to eleven thirty. Only a while to go before the countdown and Belle had some plans when the clock stuck twelve, other than taking things further with Aden. Belle and Aden were sitting on a rock, a little distance from the party to have a private chat about what was going to happen later on. They both confessed they were scared, which oddly left them feeling relieved.

“I want to show you something…” Belle said and opened her bag, took out something and handed it to Aden.

“What is this?”

“It is…was my escape. But it‘s time to say goodbye” Belle smiled, proud at what she achieved. “Once midnight is here, I plan to throw it into the fire…And never have to write in it again”

“Belle, it‘s a big part of your life” Aden replied as he was glancing at the pages.

“I don‘t need it anymore. All it brings is painful memories” Belle turned and looked into Aden’s eyes “I don‘t want to do that again.”

“If this is really what you want -”

“Yes, Aden. It is.” Belle smiled as Aden handed it back to her. They walked over to the page, hand in hand. It was going to be an eventful night.

As midnight drew closer and closer, the gang became a group and together again, getting ready for the countdown. They all had their partners, ready for that midnight kiss.

“OKAY!” A girl from the crowd screwed “One minute to go!”

“Oooo, can‘t wait for this” Nicole said happily as Ryan put his arms around her waist.

Suddenly the girl roared again “10” which was joined by the rest of the party

“9”, everyone was pairing up with their special someone

“8”

“7”

“6”, Nicole was getting more and more excited by her kiss she was getting to get and actually having a caring boyfriend on New Years Eve.

“5”

“4”

“2! Belle are you ready?” Aden whispered to Belle

“1, yes!” She screamed

“Happy New Year” echoed the beach. Belle grabbed her diary and threw it in the fire. Aden grabbed his girlfriend and began kissing her passionately. After a few minutes they pulled away and saw that Nicole and Ryan were still locking lips as were Geoff and Kyle.

Aden leaned in “Wanna get out of here?”

Belle beamed and nodded. The pair left the party, watching the celebrations from the top of the beach before getting back home where they would have the house to themselves as Irene was over at Leah’s house with the rest of the adults, having a party.

They reached the house and went in. Belle went into the bedroom and sat on her bed waiting for Aden to come in from the bathroom. He walked in with his shirt off and his muscles on display. Slowly, he walked over to Belle who had a cheeky grin on her face. She stood up to be facing him and they embraced each other.

“Got them?” Belle giggled.

“Oh yes” Aden winked taking a condom out of his pocket “Fruity!” he laughed as did Belle.

The couple kissed, each second becoming more passionately. Aden lay Belle down on the bed gently and began unbutton her shirt to reveal her slim figure. Belle let out a slight goan. He pushed Belle up a bit and unclipped her bra, then proceeding to her underwear. He unzipped his pants, pulling them down with his boxers…

That moment, the first moment Belle made love with Aden, she knew Aden was the best thing to ever happen to her. Something inside told her that they would be together forever and she well and truly believed it! She had come so far in the past four months. From being this girl from a tragic back ground to this young women, finally putting her past behind her and looking forward to her future with Aden Jefferies. Life couldn’t get any better than this.

The end
