Since it's been ages, here is a summary;

- Belle was raped at Nicole's beginning of the school year party where Nicole was also drugged and it was blamed on Aden who didn't actually do it. Aden and Nicole started to become close enough friends afterwards.

- Nicole was dealing with her parents divorce and her father's affair by sleeping around. She has started to worry that she could be pregnant.

- Geoff confided in Belle that he was gay and later told his parents. His mother refused to accept this. After going to his room, his father followed and discovered his scars on his arms.

- Aden has to deal with living up to his rep as being the tough guy when deep down, he is actually a good person. He has dealt with a lot in his life such as his alcoholic father, who Belle discovered when she went to watch a movie at his house. More to come on him.

Chapter 11

"It's been three days!"

"Give it a few more, Nic" Jessica said to her terrified friend.

Nicole was lying on the floor rubbing her stomach, thinking there could be a baby growing inside her. "How many more?!"

"I'd say another 2 or 3 and then go to Rachel" Jessica suggested.

"Are you nuts?!" Nicole screamed "I can't go and see Rach!"

"I just thought -"

"Don't think!" Nicole was furious that she would suggest the family doctor to go and see about this.

"I think I better go…"

"That's the best idea you have had all day" Nicole snarled.

Jessica walked out of Nicole's bedroom, leaving her alone. The next few days could possibly change her life forever.

"Geoff, are you ready?" Mary called up the stairs

Geoff took one last look at his bedroom. He grabbed his bags and walked down the stairs to face his mum, dad and Annie. Annie was crying while his father was disgusted at what his wife was doing to their son. Annie couldn't face this and ran upstairs and locked herself in her bedroom.

"The taxi is outside, Geoff" his father said as Geoff looked outside.

"Goodbye dad" Geoff cried as he hugged his father tightly.

Geoff walked straight past his mum and got into the taxi as Mary and John looked on.

"It's for his own good, John…"

Just as the taxi pulled down out of the driveway, Mary and John heard screams coming from up the other end of the street.

"Wait!!!"

They both walked outside the door and saw Belle running down the street. Once she reached their house, it was too late. The taxi was out of site.

"What have you done?!" Belle screamed at Mary.

"Excuse me?" Mary was taken back by a 17 year old girl shouting in her face.

"He needs help, Mary! Not to be shipped off to some Catholic boarding school in Perth!"

"It's for his own -"

"Good, right?" Belle rolled her eyes "What is wrong with you?! Your son needs professional help. He has depression and this will not make that go away or turn him straight!"

"Don't tell me how to parent my children"

"Parent?! You? I don't think so. You are no parent. If you were, you'd accept your son for who he is and what he stands for as well as getting him the help he needs" Belle spoke out, making her point clear.

"And you!" Belle stared at John "Why would you let this happen? You could have done something to stop this"

"Belle, it's not that easy" John said trying to calm her down.

"How? Because I really don't understand. You should have a had your say in this"

Belle started to walk away. "I really thought my parents were terrible. But this is something else! Don't be surprised when the school call you up and tell you your son is dead because his parents decided to send him away rather than giving me what he really needed more than anything"

Mary walked away into the house, she wasn't listening to what Belle had to say anymore.

"John, please" Belle begged. "Bring him home…"

Belle turned around and continued to walk away, leaving John to think about what she had said. Everything in which he had agreed with. Standing up to his wife was another thing. She was a strict religious woman who decided to move once the rumours hit. This was all her doing. John believed everyone should be who they want to be. He accepted his son for who he was. Now just getting his wife too, was going to be the hard part.

She walked up the driveway of his house, not knowing what she was going to say to him. She walked up and back down and up and back down again worrying what to say.

"Belle?"

She turned around to Aden standing at the door.

"Hey… I was in the neighbourhood…" Belle grinned.

"Yeah, I bet you were" Aden laughed "Come on in"

Belle walked past him into the living area where she sat down on the couch. Aden walked in behind her and sat down beside her.

"I guess I have some explaining to do…"

"That would be a good idea." Belle said to Aden.

"I guess you put two and two together, though. Dad is an alcoholic. Been to rehab about 4 times in the past 6 years…" Aden tired to hold back to the tears.

"Hey…" Belle said in a sweet, comforting tone "You don't have to tell me if you don't want too" She said as she put her arms around him

"I think I just need to finally tell someone…" Aden started "I just don't know what to do about him, Belle. I'm at a lose at this point"

"We can get him help together" Belle smiled lovingly.

"Why are you always the helper?" Aden laughed

"I like helping people" Belle answered

"Don't want to be helped yourself?" He asked.

Belle looked uneasy "Nothing to be helped over…"

Something told Aden she was lying but wasn't going to pressure her into saying anything "Well if you ever want someone to listen, I'm here"

Belle looked at Aden and smiled. He was perfect. It hadn't been long since they had known each other but they both knew there was something there. Moving in closer, their lips met with a light kiss that followed. As the door opened, they pulled away quickly. As Larry walked into the house, they couldn't help but have little smirks on their face.

"Aden, son, can you help…" Larry stopped and he saw Belle on the couch "Sorry, love! Didn't see you there"

"That is alright" Belle smiled and stood up walking over to him "I'm Belle" She said as she shook his hand.

"I think you know me, Aden's father if you haven't realised" Larry laughed "Aden, bags please?"

"I'll help also!" Belle replied and walked out to Larry's car with Aden.

"Sober and it's midday" Aden rolled his eyes "That's a record!"

Aden handed Belle some of the shopping bags "I think I have met him before"

"When?" Aden asked as they walked into the house

"I can't quiet put my finger on it…" A confused Belle replied trying to think back.

"Shut up, b!tch!" Larry spat as he hung up the phone

Belle froze. "Shut up b!tch! This will be all over soon"

"Who was that?" Aden asked embarrassed as his father took a bottle of vodka out of the shopping bags.

"You're worthless mother" Larry replied.

Belle dropped the bags on the floor. "This is all your worth!"

"Belle? Are you alright?" Aden asked, putting his arm on her shoulder.

"Yeah…" Belle replied "I have to go, Aden"

Belle ran out of the house without saying another word and ran down the road leaving Aden and Larry both confused by her behaviour. She didn't know what to do or where to go. All she knew was that Larry Jefferies was the one who had attacked her that night…

Chapter 12

What will I say to him, diary? I can't tell Aden…This can't be happening! I don't know, it just clicked. What he was saying! That tone of voice he used today was the same as…as that night…He did this to me. Him, Larry Jefferies, Aden's father raped me. I don't know what to do. I don't know who I can tell. Geoff is gone because his parents aren't right in the head. (I hope his father will try and do something about this) Aden, well it's his father…I really really like Aden.

What is a girl to do…

Belle put the pen down and took a deep breathe. She needed time out, she needed to think instead of thinking about what happened. She grabbed her jacket and walked out of the house. All of her life she had been hurt and now she would hurt Aden if she came out with the truth. He didn't know anything about her life. She couldn't put him through that. He had a hard time with his father.

Belle put her sandals back on as she walked up the beach to head into the diner. When she walked in, she noticed Aden and Nicole in a booth talking. She didn't want to speak to him and have to explain why she ran off earlier. She turned around and walked back out but not before Nicole saw her.

"I'll go after if you like and see what she says?" Nicole suggested.

"Nic, she doesn't even talk to you" Aden laughed while still confused by Belle's actions.

"There is a first time for everything!" Nicole smirked "I'll call you later!"

Nicole grabbed her things and ran out of the diner, hoping she would find Belle. She looked around but she was nowhere in sight. Nicole walked down the beach to have a look. There was Belle, sitting on the sand. Nicole walked over to her and sat down.

"Aden is worried about you" Nicole said.

"Excuse me?" Belle didn't even notice Nicole had sat down. She was so wrapped up in her own little world thinking.

"He really cares about you Belle" Nicole smiled "And I think you care about him"

Belle didn't reply. She just continued to stare at the ocean while Nicole continued to speak "So, why don't you tell me why you ran off earlier"

"I don't even know you" Belle said to her.

"Well, my name is Nicole. Live here, like you. Go to your school also. Dad is Roman, he works in the Diner. Tall man, maybe you know him. Hi, nice to meet you" Nicole put out him hand.

Belle stared at her "You must be mad if you think I'll tell you about my life" Belle stood up and walked down the beach

"I could be pregnant and if I am, I don't know who the father is."

Belle was gob-smacked. How could someone be so open with someone they didn't really know.

"How about now?" Nicole smiled.

"Nicole, I appreciate you'd like to know and sort this out but this is between myself and Aden. It does mean a lot that you would like to help but we need to figure this out"

"How can you sort something out when Aden doesn't even know what he has done. He thought you guys had something and then you run off. Aden is a good guy, Belle. What do you want from him?!"

Nicole walked away leaving Belle on the beach. She knew what she needed to do. She needed to see Aden. Taking out her mobile phone, she called his number.

"Hey, Aden. It's Belle. I think we should talk…"

"Um, yeah sure! I just arrived home. Come around when you can, yeah?" Aden replied.

"Alright, I'll come around now" Belle answered and hung up. She walked up the beach and made her way to Aden's house.

"I'm home!" Nicole shouted as she walked into her house.

"Nicole, we need to talk" Rebecca walked out of the kitchen.

Nicole was confused, what was going on. She walked into the kitchen where Rebecca was sitting down with her arms folded.

"OK, so what is going -" Nicole stopped, she saw the pregnancy test she had bought sitting on the table.

"Why don't you tell me what is going on?"

"You went through my things!" Nicole snapped.

"So, this is yours?"

"NO!" Nicole shouted.

"Nicole, don't lie to me. " Rebecca warned. "Sit down"

Nicole sat on the down beside her. Rebecca took her hand and said "Why don't you tell me what is going on"

"It's a pregnancy test, what more is there to say?" Nicole snarled as she took her hand away.

"I want to help you through this, I have been through this" Rebecca was trying to show that she genuinely cared for Nicole and her situation.

"I don't know what to do…If dad finds out…He'll…" Nicole broke down into tears "He'll kick me out on the streets"

"He loves you and would never do that" Rebecca assured her "Listen, we can go and see the doctor together and take things from there, how does that sound?"

"Why are you being nice to me?" Nicole asked "I'm always horrible to you"

"I can understand why you'd hate me, Nicole. However, I do care about your father and you very much. And will always be around for help when you need it" Rebecca gave Nicole a hug.

It was the first time that Nicole felt like she could confide in this woman. Felt like she could trust her. Felt like she could be her mother figure in her life. They talked some more until Nicole left for a bath.

"Belle, hey!" Aden grinned and gave her a hug.

A nervous Belle walked into the house trying to hear if Larry was around. Fortunately she couldn't hear anything so she assumed he wasn't there or was sleeping.

"So, why did you run off?" Aden asked.

Belle looked into Aden's eyes. She couldn't do this to him, she just couldn't. "I got scared." she started "I never let anyone close to me before and I guess it just hit me at that point that there would be a romantic relationship between us and I panicked."

"Belle, I'd never hurt you" Aden smiled. He walked over to her and took her hands "I promise you that"

"If we were to do this, we have to take things so slowly" Belle replied unsure how he would react.

"Of course, of course! I want to take things slowly also"

Belle gave him a light kiss on the lips. After she pulled away, she knew she could never tell him what happened. It was tear him apart.

"I hope we can kiss a bit more passionately than that now" Aden joked.

Belle hit him softly and laughed "I better go back. Dinner will be ready in a bit so I don't want to be late"

"Alright, I will call you later" Aden beamed and kissed her once again, this time more passionately like he had joked.

"Now! That was better" Aden chuckled and opened the door for Belle.

"See you later" Belle said and walked out the door.

She couldn't help but smile. Aden was just wonderful. He was so caring and was fine with them taking their relationship very slowly. When she opened the door of her house, Irene was cooking in the kitchen.

"Hey Belle" Irene said "Dinner will be ready in about 20 minutes"

"Alright, I'll be in my room" Belle replied happily.

"Someone is very cheerful this afternoon" Irene said to her

"Well, Irene! Life is just great, isn't it!" Belle smiled

"That's fantastic, girlie!" Irene was very pleased for her "Oh, there is a present in your bedroom. Arrived a while ago…"

"What?!" Belle asked confused. She ran into her room as fast as she could "Geoff!" She squealed and gave him a hug.

Belle closed over the door and sat beside him. "How did this happen? You only left a few hours ago, what is going on?" She had so many questions.

"Why don't we talk about me later…" Geoff started. He pulled something from underneath him. It was her diary, her heart sank. He opened it up and began to read out loud "That tone of voice he used today was the same as…as that night…He did this to me. Him, Larry Jefferies, Aden's father raped me. "

Tears stroll down her eyes and he read out her entry. She didn't know what to say to him. He had found out what happened.

"I think we should talk about you" Geoff said once he had finished reading.

Chapter 13

"You went through my things!" Belle snapped as she grabbed her dairy.

"It was left out in the open, anyone could have read it" Geoff explained

"I think you should go, Geoff" Belle said and opened her bedroom door for him to leave.

"I can't just leave Belle." Geoff replied as he walked over to her "You were by my side when through everything, I want to be here for you"

"I'm fine! I'm getting by Geoff" Belle whispered so Irene wouldn't hear. "I couldn't ruin Aden's life like that"

"You already know how much Aden hates his father. Frankly, I think this would help him a lot. His father would be jailed, you'd be able to move on and Aden would be free of his father"

"Geoff, I can't…I just can't" Belle wept.

Geoff hugged his friend. There had to be something he could do to help her. "Please, Belle. Go to the police, you should never have to suffer like this" he begged. "I'll even be there with you"

From the kitchen, Irene called Belle for dinner. Geoff gathered his things and left while Belle sat and stared at her dinner. She couldn't eat, all she was doing was thinking.

"Everything alright?" Irene asked as she took her glass of water.

Belle looked at Irene. It was now or never "I have to tell you something…"

"How was your bath?" Rebecca asked when Nicole came back downstairs.

"Relaxing, just what I needed" Nicole replied as she sat down on the sofa "When is dad coming home?"

Rebecca looked at her watch "Any minute now! I better get started on the dinner"

"I'll help!" Nicole offered walking in behind her.

Nicole began peeling the potatoes. Neither said anything but they were both thinking about Nicole's possible pregnancy.

"How do you think dad will react?" Nicole asked Rebecca's opinion.

"You are his little girl so I don't think he will be too pleased" Rebecca answered honestly "However, I was the same age as you when I had my daughter"

"Wow, I didn't know you were the same age!" Nicole was stunned by Rebecca's revelation "What happened? "

"You know, the usually story! Drunken night, a few too many. Didn't use protection. 9 months later, I had my beautiful baby girl" Rebecca replied.

"How did she end up living with her father?" Nicole asked interested.

"Well, I wasn't the best mother. Once she was old enough to understand, she wanted to live with John, her father. I haven't seen her in about 7 years now" Rebecca replied sadly.

"Rebecca, I'm so sorry! I didn't know it was that long" Nicole sympathised with Rebecca.

"It's hard. Especially since you and her would be the same age. But I have learned to live without her…" Rebecca said "…even if it does kill me inside" She finished.

Nicole was surprised. Rebecca was open and honest about her experience. She realised she had been very hard on Rebecca since she came into her life. She didn't want to hurt Nicole, or her family. She genuinely cared for her.

"What if dad makes me give the baby up for adoption?" Nicole wondered "…Or have an abortion?"

Rebecca placed the knife she was using to cut the onions down on the counter. She walked to Nicole and said "Never ever let someone make this decision for you. What do you to do with your child? This is your decision and nobody can make it for you."

She grabbed the knife and began cutting once again "My father was pushing for me to have an abortion…"

"What did you do?" Nicole questioned.

"I ran away from home. I know! Probably not the best thing to do with the current condition! When he finally learned I wasn't going to have one and have my baby, I came home. Nicole, having my child was the best decision of my entire life! It is so important to realise how much having this baby will change your life." Rebecca said "And I'll be here every step of the way. And so will your father"

"I think we are getting a little head of yourselves!" Nicole laughed "I don't know if I am for sure!"

Rebecca chuckled "That is true. We'll give it a few more days and see what happens"

"A few more days for what?" said a voice behind them.

Rebecca and Nicole turned around. Standing there was Roman.

"Hey honey! I didn't hear you come in" Rebecca smiled and have him a kiss.

"Girls, what is going on in here?" Roman asked.

Belle listened to the ringing sound at the other end of the phone. She smiled as he picked up the phone.

"Hey you" She smiled.

"Sorry who is this?" he asked

"Very funny, Aden" Belle rolled her eyes.

"I always was a bit of a joker" Aden smirked.

"You are, aren't you" Belle replied just ask Irene came in.

"It's time, Belle…" She whispered and closed the door over.

"Aden, I just want you to know that whatever happens…I'm so sorry"

"What? What do you mean?" Aden was very confused about what she meant.

"I have to go, Aden…" Belle replied and hung up.

"Belle!" Aden screamed just as she was hanging up. What did she mean?

Twenty minutes had past since Aden had gotten off the phone to Belle. He was still confused about what she meant. He walked into the sitting room where his father was sitting down drinking a can and watching a nature programme.

"What are those blue lights?" Aden asked as he looked out the window. He saw two police cars pulled up outside his house. Getting out were three police officers, Irene….and Belle? Aden ran to the door as they walked up the path way.

"Belle?"

"Aden! Aden!" Belle screamed "I'm so sorry! I didn't want to do this…" she sobbed.

Chapter 14

The three officers walked into the house and hand cuffed Larry.

"Larry Jefferies, you are under arrest for the rape of Belle Taylor. You do not have to say anything but anything you do say could be used against you in evidence" One spoke and walked him towards the police car.

"Belle?" Aden ran over to her "What is going on?"

"I'm sorry Aden!" Belle cried.

"Sorry for what!" Aden began to shake her.

Once Irene saw this, she ran over and grabbed Belle "Don't you dare touch her! Come on, Belle. Let's get out of here!"

Aden ran past them to the car "What have you done?!" he spat as his father. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" He screamed this time.

The car drove off leaving Aden alone, still unsure about what actually was going on. He got into his car and made his way down to the police station.

"Charlie!" he shouted when he got there "What is happening to my dad?"

"Aden, he has been arrested and is being questioned. I can't say anything else at this time" She walked away and into the room where Larry was being questioned.

Belle came into the station and caught Aden's eye. They walked towards each other.

"Did this happen, Belle?" Aden asked.

"Yes, Aden. I'm so sorry!" Belle cried.

"Don't be. He did this and doesn't deserve to get away with this…" Aden gave Belle a hug and comforted her. "I'll be here for you through everything"

Hours past and Belle had fallen asleep on Aden. Charlie was still questioning Larry.

"For the last time! I don't know what she is saying! I haven't done anything wrong!" Larry roared

"Mr Jefferies, we have been here for two hours and that is the only thing you have said." Charlie replied

"BUT I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG!" Larry screamed, getting restless.

"Larry, please, don't scream -"

"Well then just believe me!" Larry replied.

Charlie got up off her chair. She walked around the table. He wasn't saying anything so decided to go a different route about this "Belle is pregnant, Larry…"

"What?" Larry was stunned. "Is it my Aden's? I know they are together"

"They haven't had sex, Larry. She hasn't had sex with anyone. Now, we can wait until a few weeks into this pregnancy and do a paternity test"

"And well you know…The truth will come out then, won't it…"

"And if you lied to us, you'll get an even bigger jail sentence…Now how will that look?"

Charlie smirked and she could see she was getting to him. He was becoming more and more agitated. Who said a little white lie couldn't hurt!

"OK! I did it!! I didn't know what I was doing and when Aden had her over at the house and I remember what I had done, I felt disgusted with myself. I did that to her."

"Interview ended 02:37 on October 28th 2008"

Charlie walked out of the room. Belle woke up startled. Her and Aden both stood up. Irene had her arm around Belle.

"He confessed, Belle."

"What will happen now?" Irene asked Charlie.

"He will have to make a statement and he will be taken into custody until his trial date"

"Do you know when that will be?" Aden questioned

"It's too early to tell. A lot of paper work to do but we'll let you know as soon as we know. For now, I think you three should go home and get some rest." Charlie suggested "It has been a long day for all of you"

Irene, Belle and Aden walked out the station.

"I hate my father for what he has done to you, Belle" Aden whispered to her while Irene waited the police car.

"I don't want you to hate him" Belle said.

"There are more reason why I hate him. But that is all for another day" Aden laughed.

"Where are you going to go tonight?" Belle asked.

Aden sighed. "Back home for now."

"I don't want you to be alone right now. Come back to mine and stay there"

"What about Irene?" Aden asked.

"I don't think she'd allow you to stay in your house on your own right now, Aden" Belle smiled. "I'll go and ask."

Belle walked over to Irene. Aden watched from his car. Belle ran over smiling happily.

"Her words: Of course girlie. But on the couch!" Belle laughed.

"Alright, let's go!" Aden smiled. Irene got out of the police are and got into Aden's. It made sense that they all would in the one car.

Nicole kept tossing and turning in bed. It was coming up to 5am and she couldn't sleep. She could hear Rebecca and Roman speaking in the next room.

"Where have I gone wrong, Bec?" Roman pondered.

"Nowhere! You have been a great father. We will both work together and be here for Nic through this." Rebecca assured him.

"This must be tough since you have been there… I guess that is why Nicole came to you" Roman assumed.

"I found a test in her room and asked her about it. Then as the conversation when on she opened up and it was my turn and I told her about Sasha" Rebecca admitted.

"You are the best, you know that!" Roman smiled and lightly kissed her. "I think we should try and get some shut eye for now."

"Sounds like a plan" Rebecca laughed. She switched off the lamp and cuddled into Roman, eventually falling asleep.

"You said earlier that there was more reasons why you'd hate your dad" Belle said, sitting down on the couch with Aden

"Not tonight Belle…" Aden hesitated.

"Alright, whenever then" Belle smiled "The sun is coming up so I should go to bed."

Belle moved in to kiss Aden on the lips. She stood up to walk into her bedroom.

"Belle, I'm sorry for what he has put you through" Aden said walking over to her.

"Aden, I have been through so much in my life. I'm a strong person and have been holding everything together for what has happened"

"You're great Belle" Aden smiled and kissed her lightly on her lips.

Aden walked back to the couch and lay down, eventually falling asleep. Belle was awake for a while wondering what Aden wouldn't tell her. Whatever it was, it must have been serious. She knew he would tell her when he was ready.

Chapter 15

The morning sun rose and the birds were chirping outside her window. Nicole stretched out her long slender body before getting out of bed. Today was the day. She was nearly a week late now. Thinking about it, she had prepared herself for the doctor telling she was pregnant. After showering and deciding what to wear, she walked downstairs to where Rebecca and Roman were eating breakfast.

"Good morning!" Roman smiled.

"Morning" Nicole replied quietly and sat down.

Rebecca grabbed Nicole's hand "Don't be scared, sweetie. We are both going to be here for you today"

"Yes, and we will deal with whatever the doctor gives us" Roman kissed his daughter on the head.

"Thanks guys" Nicole said and took a slice of toast.

All three sat in silence wondering what news they would receive that afternoon.

Belle was sitting on her bed reading over her latest diary entry, which for once was filled with happiest. As Belle finished reading, Irene walked into the room with Geoff. Irene left and Geoff gave Belle a hug.

"Ugh, I'm so proud of you Belle" Geoff said delighted she got the courage to speak out.

"I couldn't have done it without your help" Belle smiled.

"It was nothing really!" Geoff sat down on the bed, followed by Belle "So, do you know what will happen next?"

"Charlie called this morning. He is getting sentenced next week" Belle grinned.

"Did she say how long for?" Geoff asked.

Belle shook her head "She doesn't know or have any ideas. Just have to wait and see, I guess"

"At least everything is finally being dealt with now. How about we go for a bite to eat later to celebrate?"

"Great! Mind if Aden comes along?" Belle smirked.

Geoff laughed "Of course! I see you two have finally got your act together then"

Belle blushed "Yes and he makes me so happy!"

"I'm happy for you Belle. Everything is looking up for you and for me also"

"Oh yes! You never told me how you managed to come home" Belle said.

"Basically, dad raced against time to the airport and he managed to get there. I was about to get on the plane when he said a young girl finally told him to be a man and stick up for the people he loves. So I have to ask, what did you say to him exactly?" Geoff laughed

"Oh! So now I'm the "young girl", am I?" Belle smirked knowing Geoff knew it was her "I just said bring you home. You need proper help rather than being shipped to a strict Catholic boarding school"

"Thank you Belle!" Geoff smiled and hugged her "That night we all sat down and spoke about it. Mum is sort of getting used to the idea of me being gay but she says it will take time."

"And what about…" Belle glanced at his arms.

"I'm starting to see a therapist in two weeks" Geoff said knowing thinks were getting better for him

"Aww, I'm so happy for you!" Belle was fighting back the tears but couldn't help it.

"Stop crying you! You'll bring me to tears!" Geoff laughed.

Geoff looked at the time. "Oh, listen, I better go for lunch. Say we meet at the diner around 7?"

"Sounds good!" Belle said as she walked him out the door.

They hugged once again and Geoff left. Belle went into the kitchen and began helping Irene make their lunch.

Nicole, Roman and Rebecca waited nervously in the doctors office. In her mind, she was nearly 100% sure the doctor was about to come out and say she was pregnant.

"Hello again" the doctor smiled walking back into the room. She sat down at her desk and looked at Nicole's records.

"What is the news?" Roman asked just wanting to get it over and done with.

"Nicole you are not pregnant"

"WHAT?" Nicole was in shock. Roman and Rebecca was relieved.

"Sometimes stress can make you late. This is more than likely what happened here. You were put in a stressful situation and were under a lot of pressure. Our tests came back negative"

"Thank you so much" Roman said shaking the doctors hands.

"Nicole, give yourself a few more days and don't be stressing out or anything like that. " The doctor advised.

Rebecca, Roman and Nicole walked out of the doctors office. Just before getting into the car, Nicole stopped and said "That's it. Its different from now on. I can't deal with what has happened by sleeping around. Things are changing from this day onwards."

"Visitor 247" the officer shouted and opened the door to the visiting room.

Aden walked in and saw his father sitting down. He looked awful, his skin was dry and pale looking. He looked like he hadn't slept in months.

"Aden!" Larry smiled

"Hello" Aden replied and sat down without hugging him or even shaking his hand.

"I guess I deserve that…"

"You deserve a lot more than your getting" Aden spat.

"I'm sorry Aden, I really am. I -"

"Save it! I don't want to hear how sorry you! You have done the worst thing you could ever do to me!" Aden replied coldly.

Aden leaned in "Did you honestly think you'd get away with what you did?"

"No, obviously I wont!" Larry replied angrily. "She is pregnant for God's sake"

"Charlie rang me about that is morning and told me she said that. It was used to get you to confess your crimes, Larry."

Larry was in disbelief "They can't do that!"

"Actually they can. Belle isn't pregnant, Larry" Aden said calmly.

"Stop calling me by that name. I'm your father."

"You are no father of mine! You haven't been a father since -" Aden stopped. He couldn't finish what he was saying.

"Aden, please" Larry begged. He knew what he was about to say.

"You should have stopped him. You could have stopped him. You could have stopped him coming into my room at night…" Tears strolled down Aden's cheeks. "He was my grandfather and you let him do those things to me! You just turned a blind eye to everything that was going on. You're sick!"

Aden stood up. "I don't even want to see you again. I hope you rot in prison! Goodbye"

He walked down towards the door ignoring Larry shouting after him. The prison guards opened the door and Aden watched as his father was dragged off by the security guards. He never wanted to see or speak to his father again. That was it, the end of his relationship with his father. Aden smiled as he walked out of the prison. He got into his car and made his way back to Belle's house. He knew he needed to finally speak to her about his past as she was going to be his future.

Chapter 16

Aden reached Belles house. He looked in the window and saw her and Irene preparing the lunch. He knocked on the door. Irene opened it up and Belle ran over giving him a kiss and a hug.

"Lunch will be ready soon" Irene smiled.

"Yes and I've helped" Belle said proudly.

"Better take cover, then" Aden joked which made Belle lightly hit him.

He sat down at the table thinking about how to bring the subject up. Belle put the plates out on the table and started bringing over the salad. She sat down beside her boyfriend as Irene finished being the food over.

"Dig in!" Irene said taking her knife and fork in her hand.

"Irene and I were speaking while you were out, Aden…" Belle started.

"And we'd like you to move in here" Irene finished.

Aden was stunned "Really?" He was thrilled.

"Yes, and you can have the spare room upstairs" Irene added.

"Thank you Irene. You wont regret this decision" Aden assured her as he gave her a hug.

"You know Aden, when Belle came to the Bay, I warned her against you and I can see she was right about you. You are a good person"

"Thank you" Aden laughed and smiled at Belle.

After lunch, Irene went to the diner for her evening shift at work. Belle and Aden sat and watched the TV. Belle noticed Aden seemed out of the loop and wasn't paying attention.

"Is everything okay, Aden?" Belle asked turning to him.

"Yeah, everything is prefect!" Aden smiled "I'm with you now and well everything is great"

"It doesn't seem like everything is"

Aden hesitated. Could he tell her right now, this minute? "I went to visit my dad today. That's all. Just thinking about it that's all"

"Oh, I see. You don't need to keep thinking about what has happened. It's all in the past and time to move forward"

"You are very encouraging, you know that" Aden laughed

Belle chuckled. "I try"

"I need to tell you something…" Aden started

Nicole was sitting at her computer desk looking busy when Rebecca walked into her room. She walked over and had a quick look at what she was searching.

"What's all this for?"

"My experience has taught me a lot." Nicole said to Rebecca "I want to help people who were in the same situation as me."

"Wow, that is very grown up of you Nicole" Rebecca said looking at the screen again.

"I have learned I can't allow my past to make me like this. Turn me into someone who just sleeps around, gets into sticky and dangerous situations." Nicole clicked on a link to show Rebecca "We all deserve happiest in our lives. I was just finding it in all the wrong places"

"What is it you actually would I to do?" Rebecca asked, curiously.

"Social work. I want to help people who need help. We need to get out the situations they are in" Nicole replied.

"You have no idea how proud of you I am. You have being such a fantastic woman, Nicole" Rebecca said wiping away the tears.

"Thank you! I really think I could be good at it" Nicole said wishfully.

Rebecca left Nicole to what she was doing. For once, Nicole knew she'd be able to achieve what she wanted to do. And this was exactly what she wanted to do next year.

Lying by the rocks, he listened to the waves hit against them, going back and forward. It was peaceful. He relaxed in the sunshine thinking about how great things were going to be from now on. Well, once his mum has finally accepted him. Suddenly, Geoff jumped up. A dog was licking his face.

"Rover! Rover!" someone shouted while running towards Geoff and the dog.

Geoff blocked out the sun and saw a teenage boy running towards him. He was probably about Geoff's age. The dark hair boy, stopped and took a deep breathe.

"I'm so sorry about that" the strange laughed

Geoff chuckled "It's no problem"

"I wanted to take the dog out for some exercise, not me"

"A little running never hurt anyone."

"That is true! I'm Kyle" he said and put out his hand.

Shaking his hand, he replied "Geoff"

"Nice to meet you" Kyle said and put the lead back on his dog.

"Likewise" Geoff responded. "I don't think I have seen you around here before"

"Only new. New town once again. 4th time in five years" Kyle rolled his eyes.

"Well I'll be glad to show you around sometime" Geoff offered the new guy in town

"Sounds good!" Kyle said and gave Geoff his number on his hand.

"See you around" Geoff shouted and Kyle ran down the beach with his dog.

"….Say something"

"I don't know what to say, Aden…" Belle was stunned by Aden revelation. "I'm so sorry you have been through so much -"

"Let me stop you there" Aden moved in closer to Belle "You have nothing to be sorry for. I'm just glad you are here now and I'll never have to let you go. I know I have someone who generally cares about me"

"Gosh, yes! Of course" Belle said grabbing him and hugging him "Always. Always and forever, Aden"

"We have both had difficult lives, Belle. And we have made it through everything and will continue to deal with everything life brings us" Aden smiled.

"Definitely, I'm just so shocked about your grandfather"

"Now you know why I hate my father and always have. I really don't wish to speak about because I know he wont be able to lay a hand on me again. As far as family goes, you are all I need" Aden kissed her so happy she understood and wasn't going to run away.

Belle and Aden spoke about their pasts for another while. Aden had come clean to Belle and Belle had come clean to Aden. There was no secrets now. Nothing to hide. This was the start of their lives together.

"I said to Geoff, we'd go and get something to eat later" Belle said wondering how Aden would react.

"Any friends of yours, are friends of mine." Aden smiled "May I invite a friend? I'm sure she'd love another girl to speak to rather than me"

Belle laughed "Sure!"

Aden went into his new bedroom and got his phone out of his jacket. He sent a text to Nicole asking her to come along. She replied right away accepting the offering and adding that she wasn't pregnant. Aden was happy for Nicole and her news. He felt like everyone's life was going great right now and it was.

Belle had finally been able to move forward and she had Aden with do that with. Aden knew that telling Belle about his past would have been the best decision of his life. She would accept him, regardless of his past. While Nicole's decision of the past few months weren't the most intelligent, she was making her life better for her and looking into college courses. Geoff's life had become very interesting since running into this new guy in town, Kyle. He only had to wait and see and what would happen there.

Chapter 17

Belle and Aden were the first to arrive at the diner. They sat at a booth and waited for Nicole and Geoff to arrive.

"It's weird how we could all be friends…" Belle said thinking "When I first came, none of us like each other"

"Things change" Aden smirked and gave her a peck on the cheek.

Nicole walked into the diner and over to them Aden got up and gave her a hug while whispering congratulations in her ear.

"Thanks for the invite for this little get together " Nicole beamed

"Anytime, any friends of Aden's are friends of mine" Belle laughed

Aden looked at his watch "When is Geoff coming?"

"Campbell?" Nicole asked.

"Yes" Belle answered "Should be any second now. We said 7. "

"What are guys going to have?" Aden asked the girls who were reading the menus.

"Salad" They both said at the same time and laughed

Aden rolled his eyes "I don't know why you guys just can't have a steak every once and a while!"

"Well for one, I don't like streak and two, it is $18" Belle pointed out.

"Point proven" Aden chuckled

Belle looked up as she saw Geoff walking over. He sat down beside Nicole and grabbed the menu.

"We all know each other, yes?" Aden asking looking at them all.

They nodded. Irene walked over to take each of their orders. She came back to the table bringing their drinks and left once again. Once she left, the conversation started to go quiet. Nobody knew what to say.

"I'm glad to hear about the case, Belle" Nicole said without thinking it could possible hurt Aden's feelings.

"Um, thanks" Belle smiled. "It's a new beginning now"

"For me also" Nicole replied. "I have been looking into doing social work courses next year"

Belle's face lit up "Wow! That is what I would like to do also. Strange…"

"Very!" Nicole laughed.

The girls engaged in a conversation about the course leaving the boys to chat alone. It was a great opportunity for Aden to apologise to any wrong doing he may have caused to Geoff in the past.

"Seems like they are getting along" Aden laughed as he was worried something horrible would go wrong.

"Always a good sign! Everything is looking up" Geoff replied and took a glop of his water.

"Listen mate, I'm sorry…" Aden started "For anything I've ever done to you"

"No worries! Everything turned out for the best" Geoff said and shook Aden's hand.

"What is going on here?" Belle asked Aden.

"Just making up, that is all. Fresh start!" Aden smiled at them.

"For all of us" Nicole said.

Irene walked over to the table and put their food in front of them. "This one is on the house" she winked and left them to it and each began eating up.

"Would the streak really be worth the $18, Aden?" Belle asked jokingly

"Yep!" Aden responded and continued eating.

Just then, Belle's mobile rang. She placed her knife and fork on the plate and took her phone out of her back.

"Hello?"

"Belle, it's Charlie. I have some bad news…"

"What is going on?" Belle asked worried.

When Belle said that, everyone stopped eating and looked at her. They all wanted to know what was going on and what would happen.

Belle sighed "Thanks for the call, Charlie"

"What is going on?!" Aden asked quickly once she hung up.

"Charlie said the sentencing has been push back. Until December 17th" Belle replied sadly.

"What?! That is outrageous" Geoff protested!

"I know, Geoff! I know…"

"Do you know why?" Nicole questioned.

"She just said it has been pushed back and there isn't anything she can do. She tried everything."

"Maybe we should go and speak to Irene" Aden suggested.

"Yeah, that will be a good idea" Belle was devastated. She was excited to know that he would be out of her life a week later but now she had to wait 6 weeks later. This wasn't something she needed.

"Sorry about this guys, maybe about time?" Aden asked.

"Oh don't worry about it" Nicole replied "Just take care of her"

"Yes, we can do this again" Geoff added.

Aden and Belle walked away from the table into the kitchen were Irene was working. Outside, Nicole and Geoff continued their meal.

"Shocking news, not something she needed" Geoff said breaking the silence.

"I know, I'd be so upset if that was me" Nicole replied thinking about Belle.

Once they both finished their meals and spoke for a while longer, they realised they could have a good friendship here. Both were getting along great and seemed to have a lot to talk about.

"I better head home" Nicole said looking at her watch.

"Yes, already. I should do the same" Geoff replied.

They both stood up and walked out of the diner going in different directions. Geoff looked up at the stars in the sky. It was a beautiful night out. Suddenly, without looking, he walked into someone.

"I'm so sorry!"

"Ah, we meet again"

Geoff was embarrassed "Kyle, right?"

"Got it in one, mate" Kyle cackled "And you're Geoff"

Geoff nodded.

"You busy tonight, Geoff?"

"Wh…What?"

"You can show me around if you want too?" Kyle offered.

"Oh! Alright" Geoff grinned. "Come this way"

They walked around the town for what seemed like hours, discovering they had a lot of the same interested and seemed to get along. The last destination was Stewart's Point, the outlook over the sea.

"Wow, it's nice up here." Kyle said "Beautiful view…" He said and glanced at Geoff.

Suddenly, Kyle's phone starting buzzing. He looked at his phone and said walking away "Sorry about this, one minute."

Geoff waited, still looking out at the ocean. He could overhear Kyle shouting down the phone. Whoever was on the other end of the phone, they were getting an ear full.

"There isn't anything I could have done to stop the move! Why can't you get that in your head? ….Listen! …Don't hang up!"

Kyle walked back over to Geoff. "Sorry about that!"

"No problem, girlfriend from where you used to live?" Geoff questioned.

Kyle smirked "Boyfriend. Well, ex-boyfriend now..."

Geoff looked away and smiled. He felt a connection with Kyle. If it turned into something more romantic, Geoff wasn't sure. But he felt something there. They got on straight away.

Chapter 18

"Charlie, this is ridiculous and you know it"

"I know, Irene. I have tried to do -"

"I don't want to hear the excuses" Irene replied extremely annoyed by what has happened.

"Shouting at me will do no good. I can't change anything, I have tried to. If there was anything I could have done to stop this, of course I would have. All I want is for Belle to be safe and never have to face this again"

"Come on Irene. Let's go home. Charlie, thanks for what you have done. I do appreciate your help" Belle apologised for Irene's behaviour and left the police station with Aden and Belle.

"I'm furious Belle!"

"I know you are and you think we are not?" Aden responded "We'll just have to live these few weeks out and wait for the 17th"

"It's a month and a half away, Aden." Irene answered.

The three of them got into the car. Aden and Irene continued to argue over the sentencing being put back. Sitting in the back, Belle was getting a headache over the fighting.

"Can you guys just stop!" Belle screamed as the reached the house. Belle got out of the car immediately and ran into her bedroom slamming the door behind her.

"I should go see if she is okay…" Aden said looking at Irene.

He opened Belle's door. She was lying on the bed, cuddling a teddy bear that Aden had got her. Aden walked over and sat down beside her.

"I'm sorry Belle. I didn't mean to upset you, neither did Irene"

"Can we just agree not to speak about this until we have to. I just want to get away from it all, Aden…"

Aden embraced Belle. She began crying into his shirt. Aden promised Belle that they wouldn't discuss what happened until it was necessary.

After a couple of days of flirting outrageously, Geoff invited Kyle to Nicole's annual Halloween party. Geoff arrived early for the party to lend a hand and get the party ready.

"What time is Kyle coming at then?" Nicole smirked as she setting out the candy on the table in the sitting room

"I have to meet him at the surf club at 7. Then walking him here" Geoff answered.

"Ooh la-la" Nicole winked "You kids behave on the way back now"

"Nic, it isn't like that…yet" Geoff laughed. He sat down on the sofa, followed by Nicole.

"You want it to become something?" Nicole asked him.

Geoff hesitated for a second "I do, but then again I don't know"

"Get to know him for now. From what you tell me, he sounds like a great guy"

"He is a great guy, really great. What would he want with me?!" Geoff rolled his eyes

"Can I give you some advice?"

"No offensive, Nicole...But you wouldn't be the best to give dating advice!"

Nicole chuckled "So I don't have a very good boyfriend record! But I do have a good experience record!"

"True that" Geoff replied laughing

"Hey!" Nicole lightly hit his shoulder "Well in my experience, if someone wants to hang out with you more and more they will not refuse if you offer more time with them. So, like you asked him to come to this party and he wanted to come."

"Maybe he wants to meet other people though"

"Oh Geoff, stop worrying! From what you have said, he seems into you so go get him!" Nicole urged him.

"It isn't 7 just yet!" Geoff replied looking at his watch.

"You know what I meant! Now lets finish this place" Nicole said standing up to finish getting the party ready.

"Does your dad know about this party?" Geoff questioned grabbing the "Happy Halloween" banners.

"Never." Nicole smirked "Never here on Halloween for whatever reason"

"What is the reason this year?"

"He and Rebecca went to Sydney to look at wedding dresses for the wedding. They are getting married at Christmas and I can actually say I like the idea now. I have accepted what has happened now"

"Glad to hear you are getting better" Geoff smiled

The pair continued on getting the house ready. It was only an hour to go before Geoff had to meet Kyle at the surf club. As the minutes went on, he was getting more and more nervous.

"Belle, it's nearly half 6!" Aden shouted down the hall. "We need to get going"

"Aden, it's Halloween! Where is your costume?" Irene joked looking at Aden's Frankenstein costume.

"Ha-ha, you're hilarious" Aden laughed.

After a few minutes, Belle came out as Frankenstein's bride.

"Looking good" Aden winked.

"Well suited! Have fun you guys" Irene smiled

Belle and Aden walked out of the house and walked down to Nicole's house. They laughed as the noticed they got funny looks from people walking by. The noticed Geoff sitting outside the surf club looking at his watch. They walked over and sat down beside him.

"What are you doing? Not going to Nicole's party?" Belle asked.

"Haha, you guys look great!" Geoff laughed "Yeah, I am. Just waiting for Kyle"

"Details!" Belle said as her face lit up.

Geoff filled Aden and Belle in on the latest relationship news in his life. Both were thrilled for him, wanting to meet Kyle.

"Nicole wants to meet him also after I told her all about him today"

"What time you guys meeting up at?" Aden asked

"Should be here at 7 and then heading over right away. He couldn't understand the directions to Nicole's so I said we could walk over"

"Well Aden and I will go on over now and we will see you guys over there in a while."

Belle stood up, gave Geoff a hug and walked on to Nicole's house.

"I'm really happy for him but…"

"But what?" Belle asked curious

"His costume sucks!" Aden laughed

"Clearly he hasn't dressed up yet! Doesn't want to look like an idiot walking down the street"

"Unlike us!" Aden grabbed Belle and swung her around in the middle of the street, ending up giving er a kiss on her soft lips.

"It's alive! IT'S ALIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" Belle screamed and laughing at the same time remembering quotes from the movie, Frankenstein.

"Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh" Aden screamed, walking after Belle who was running away from him.

Aden stopped walking and Belle stopped running away from him. They were a couple of metres apart from each other. Running up to one another, they hugged and kissed once again.

"I love you Belle Taylor" Aden whispered in her ear "I'm yours forever and ever and ever and ever"

Belle grinned "I love you too, Aden Jefferies."

After one last kiss, they finally made their walk to Nicole's house walking hand in hand. Even though they had only been officially together for a couple of days, they knew they really cared for each other. Ever seen they first met, there was something very special between them.

Meanwhile back at the surf club, Geoff looked at the time. It was now 7 and Kyle should have been there. Geoff waited and waited. Thinking Kyle had stood him up, a sad Geoff stood up having his feelings crushed, and he started walking off. After a few minutes, Geoff heard someone calling his name. He turned around to see Kyle running after him.

"Sorry, I'm late!" Kyle said catching his breath.

"I thought you stood me up" Geoff was relieved he had come.

"Nope, just running late was all. I'm here now and I have something I want to ask you…" Kyle started.

"What is it?" Geoff asked

"Would you like to go see a movie or something tomorrow night?" Kyle asking, hoping and praying Geoff wouldn't turn him down.

Geoff smiled "I'd love too!"

They both smiled and then started to leave to go to Nicole's house where the party would be in full swing.

Chapter 19

Once, Geoff and Kyle reached the party, it had well and truly started. Everyone had fantastic costumes. Geoff decided it was time to get into his. Walking up stairs with Kyle, he showed him around Nicole’s house.

“I never thought I‘d see a house like this! It‘s something you‘d see from like The OC” Kyle chuckled.

“Yeah, it‘s a pretty neat house. Wouldn‘t mind it myself” Geoff replied searching in a bag in Nicole’s bedroom.

“Um, I didn‘t bring a costume with me…” Kyle said embarrassed he would be the only one not in costume.

“Here” Geoff smiled handing him a costume to wear.

Kyle looked up and down at it. “You have got to be kidding”

“Definitely not” Geoff laughed “Look who I am!”

“Ahh…I better go get changed then” Kyle replied and walked into Nicole’s bathroom putting his costume on.

Downstairs, Nicole, Belle and Aden were talking about Kyle. They hadn’t been introduced to him yet and were looking forward to that moment.

“Where did they even go?!” Aden asked looking around.

“Geoff went to get into his costume, I‘d say” Nicole replied taking a sip of her vodka and coke.

After a couple of minutes, Geoff and Kyle ran down the stairs.

“Da na na na na na na BATMAN!” Geoff shouted running towards his friends, followed by Kyle who was dressed as Robin.

“Aww, Batman and Robin!” Belle said impressed “I like it!”

“I thought it was clever also” Geoff said proudly. After a few minutes, Geoff finally introduced Kyle “Guys this is Kyle…Kyle this is the guys”

“Funny how two out of three are girls” Kyle smirked “Nice to meet you all”

“Fine then. Belle, Nicole and Aden” Geoff pointed out each one and then went to get himself and Kyle a drink.

“How do you like Summer Bay so far?” Nicole asked

“Beautiful town, I really do like it here.”

“We are always up for new people!” Nicole smiled.

“Yeah, my mum and dad lived here for years and decided they would move the family back here.” Kyle explained as Geoff returned handing Kyle a drink.

“Oh, do you have brothers and sisters?” Aden questioned as he put his arms around Belle’s waist.

“Yeah, I have a twin sister, Jen. And an older brother, Ryan. He is at university but will be coming home for Christmas, I think” Kyle answered. “Ryan is from mum‘s first marriage…” he added.

Kyle’s revelation made an awkward silence. “Sorry guys…I just kind of say things without making how people will feel.”

“Ah, mate! Don‘t worry about it” Aden said trying to make him not feel as bad as he was feeling “I think we all thought it might have been hard for you to have another sibling…That kind of thing, you know?”

“Yeah, yeah. I get what you are saying. But I‘m alright with it. Mum and his dad were young, didn‘t work out” Kyle continued to tell them about his brother for a few more minutes.

“Guys, I think it‘s time for some party games!” Nicole suggested “What do you think?”

“What have you got in mind?!” Belle asked excited

“You know that apple game?” Nicole replied trying to think of the name

“Bob the apple?” Aden laughed at Nicole not knowing the name.

“Yeah, if you say so.” Nicole replied “I have that one anyways”

“I rock at this game!!” Kyle boasted

Nicole got out a big bowl of water. She placed the apples in the bowl, stood on the living room table and made an announcement to the party guests “Ok! We are going to play…What’s the name again Aden?”

Aden chuckled and shouted up to Nicole “Bob the apple! Anyone in the room could tell you that”

“..Oh yes, bob the apple! So come on over and have a go” Nicole replied getting down from the table.

“I want a go!” Belle said first. Aden placed her hands behind her back and tied them with a rope.

“I should do this more often…” Aden said cheekily and kissed Belle on the cheek before wishing her good luck

Belle placed her head into the bowl. Everyone around her was shouting her name. After a minute, she had gotten an apple. Aden untied her and congratulated her.

Afterwards, Kyle wanted a go. It only took him 10 seconds to get an apple. He did actually rock at this game. When Kyle was tied, Geoff hugged him followed by a light kiss on the lips, their first kiss together.

The party went on until the early hours of the morning. By the time the sun had come up, most people had left. By the end of the night, it was just the gang left. They all sat in the living room chatting about the nights events and how they were going to clean up the mess.

“What time is your dad and Rebecca coming home at anyways?” Aden asked Nicole just as she got out the black bags.

“He said late afternoon, so we have a couple of hours” She replied putting the rubbish into the bags

The rest of the gang got up and helped her clean. Within a half an hour, the place looked a lot better than what it did look like.

“Um…guys… I need to tell you something…” Nicole started to say.

Everyone looked at each other. This didn’t sound good.

“I have decided to look for Rebecca‘s daughter…”

“She has a daughter?!” Geoff said what everyone was thinking.

“Yeah, it‘s a long story” Nicole laughed “I just wanted your opinion. I just feel like she should be here for her mothers wedding…”

“Nic, what happened with her daughter” Belle asked before deciding if it was a good idea or night.

“She had a baby when she was our age, she wasn’t ready for motherhood. So, she went to live with her father and she hasn‘t seen her in 7 years.”

“Does Rebecca want to know her daughter?”

“She told me it breaks her heart everyday that she doesn‘t get to see her daughter.” Nicole informed them. “I don‘t know what to do…Would it be a good idea”

“Obviously I don‘t know about Rebecca but personally, I think it would be a great idea. You are right, Nicole. She should be here for her mothers wedding. I think my mum would have been devastated if Ryan wasn‘t there for her wedding” Kyle agreed with Nicole.

Nicole got on with cleaning up as did everyone else. She decided she was going to look for Rebecca and try and get her at the wedding.

Chapter 20

Christmas was only around the corner. It was Belle’s favourite time of the year even if she never had someone special to spend it with. This year was different, she had Aden. The best person in the entire world. She was stuck on what she was going to get him for Christmas, she wanted something very special that would mean a lot to Aden. But finding that present was the only problem. Luckily for her, she still had 2 weeks to find him a gift.

Dear Diary

It’s been a while, eh? Last time I wrote, it was Halloween. Not a lot has changed really. Myself and the gang have gotten really close. Even though we have only know each other for a couple of months, it feels like years.

Geoff and Kyle are doing great. I’m so pleased for him. He started his counselling two weeks ago and he says it’s really helping. Everyone was speaking about Larry’s case so I felt Kyle had gotten confused. I decided to tell him what had happened but like everyone else, he was supporting me.

The case is coming up and I’m getting scared. What if he doesn’t get a long sentence? He could be out after a couple of months. All of this pain and suffering for really nothing then…That will kill me…

Nicole has started to look for Rebecca’s daughter, Sasha. Last week she told me that she was looking at old pictures and Rebecca looked so happy with her daughter. It made her even more determined to find her daughter. I guess it would be nice to see Sasha at the wedding but I just have this horrible feeling that it will all go wrong…

Kyle introduced us to his sister, Jen a few days after Halloween. She is so nice! And Ryan came home two nights ago for Christmas. Nicole’s eyes lit up when she saw him. Feel like something is going to happen there, diary…

Aden and I…What can I say? He is just wonderful. He makes everything so much better. Speaking of Aden, he had just come home. He is cooking me dinner, how lucky am I?!

She locked her diary in her drawer and went outside to Aden who had already begun the dinner even though he had only walked in the door a minute before-hand.

“Oooh, I can‘t wait to have this dinner. What you making?!” Belle asked trying to get a look.

“You, missy! Out and rest for the afternoon. You will find out later” Aden order her and walked her to the couch where he fluffed her pillow and handed her the remote.

“No fair!” Belle pouted

“You know I love when you do that” Aden smiled and kissed her.

He walked back into the kitchen and resumed cooking the dinner for Belle.

“I was speaking to Geoff today and he told me he was introducing Kyle to his parents” Aden said from the kitchen.

“Really? Was it pre-arranged? ” Belle asked, thinking it wouldn’t be a very good idea for Geoff to bring Kyle home without warning. After all, Mary did try and ship he away.

“He said something about telling his parents last week about him and them saying he should come over. ”

“Wow…Mary seems to surprise me as the days go on” Belle laughed.

“Just hope all goes according to plan!”

Geoff was waiting nervously in his living room for Kyle to be dropped off by Ryan, his brother. He was pacing up and down the room. What if mum and dad don’t like him? He thought to himself. What if he doesn’t get on with mum and dad? Oh God, just hurry up Kyle and get here. His father came into the room and he escaped his thoughts. He put his hand on his son’s shoulder and told him not to be worrying so much, everything would be fine. Geoff felt a bit re-assured after his father spoke to him.

He heard a car pull up outside the house. He saw Kyle getting out of the car and went to the front door. Geoff waved at Ryan and greeted his boyfriend with a kiss on the cheek. They went into the living area where Mary and John was standing next to each other.

“Mum, dad. This is Kyle”

Kyle put out his hand and shook John’s hand. He leaned towards Mary and kissed her politely on the cheek. Mary was surprised he was very politely. She wasn’t expecting this at all, but didn’t know what to expect anyways.

“Shall we proceed into the dining room?” John suggested and led them into the room.

John and Mary walked into the kitchen to bring out the plates. Geoff looked at Kyle, he knew he was just as nervous as he was. Mary and John returned to the dining room with plates and placed them in front of everyone.

The dinner was awkward, nobody was too sure what to say. Kyle wanted to make conversation with Geoff’s parents to show them he wasn’t a horrible person and that he really did care for their son.

“So, where is Annie tonight?” he asked Ugh, smart move idiot, he thought to himself. Nice question, bring up the sister. Nothing to do with Geoff or myself...

“She is with Jai, her boyfriend” Geoff answered.

“Yes, Jai is a friend from the church we attend on Sundays” Mary spoke making Kyle feel awkward “Do you believe in religion, Kyle?”

“Um, Mary. Lets not discuss this right now” John glared at his wife.

“That sounds great!” Geoff smiled at his dad. “Let‘s not.”

“Well that reminds me, how was the church event at the school this morning?” Kyle asked Geoff.

“What church event?” Mary asked thinking Annie would have been at one if there was one.

Geoff sat in silence. What was he going to say? He hadn’t told Kyle about his past. Not that he didn’t want to, of course he did. It was just to difficult. Geoff looked at his father with a look that said “Save me…”

“Oh, it was late notice. Just wanted people to do some work at the school” John lied, covering for his son.

“No, no. They would have contacted me about this” Mary said “I‘m sure of that”

“Well you weren‘t home when they called” John replied knowing this wasn’t going to work.

“Wait, you should have been at counselling this morning” Mary responded furiously “Are you doing that again, Geoff?”

“NO!” Geoff raged

Kyle wasn’t sure about what was going on. He sat and looked on as Geoff and Mary argued while John tired to stop it.

“Give me a look at those wri-”

“STOP! I‘M NOT!” Geoff screamed at his mother. He stood up and ran off to his bedroom leaving his parents and Kyle, who wasn’t sure what was happening.

“I better go and see how he is…” John said sadly getting up.

“No, I will do that” Kyle smiled and stood up

“Second door on the left, Kyle” John said and thanked him for going to see/

John glared at Mary. He was furious “You should be ashamed of yourself”

“What do you say that, John? I‘m only concerned about our son” Mary shot back

“You are going about it all the wrong way. Let asking to see his wrists at the dinner table when we are meeting his boyfriend for the first time, what were you thinking?” John stood up and grabbed the dishes “Well done. Now our son needs to explain to his boyfriend why his mother acted in the way she did. I don‘t think he was ready to come clean to Kyle about the counselling”

Upstairs, Kyle walked into Geoff’s room. He was sitting at the desk staring at pictures of when he was young. Happy, carefree, loved by his parents.

“Are you alright?” Kyle asked sitting down on the floor beside him.

“I guess I should explain what was going on down there?” Geoff buried his head in his hands. He wasn’t ready for this. Kyle would hate him for lying was all he was thinking.

“Only if you want too, Geoff. I wouldn‘t make you do something you didn‘t want to do” Kyle responded and put his arm around Geoff.

“When I moved here, I had no friends, my family hated him for my problems making them moved…I hated who was I was.” Geoff started “…I fell. I was going through a really difficult time and suffered from depression and self harming.”

“Oh my God, Geoff” Tears strolled down Kyle’s cheeks. He hugged Geoff so tightly and assured him he would never leave him

“Belle saved me. And helped me get back up again. Whenever I say I‘m doing something like church events, extra classes at school…I‘m at counselling, Kyle. I‘m so sorry I kept this from you. Really I am ” Geoff sat on the bed, followed by Kyle. “I didn‘t know what to do, or what to say”

“Hey, hey, hey!” Kyle laughed trying to calm him down “Stop. Relax. I can understand how hard this must have been for you to tell him. And I would never hate you or anything you are thinking I would because of this.”

“You are too prefect, you know that?” Geoff smiled. “How did I ever get you?”

“If I remember correctly, my dog licked your face on the beach” Kyle smirked thinking back to the first day they met. “Listen, if you want me to come with you on your next session, I will”

“I think that would be a great idea. I‘m always told to bring someone alone for a change”

The boys sat together in Geoff’s bedroom for a while later. They chatted, laughed, smiled and joked. Kyle told Geoff not to be to hard on Mary, she was only looking out for him. Even if she did it the wrong way. After a while, they went back downsides where they had dessert with Mary and John who chatted and asked Kyle questions about himself. Nothing inappropriate, Geoff was pleased. He watched his parents getting on with Kyle. What his mother did was horrible but in the end, all worked out for the best. Maybe now she would be able to understand his decisions in his life.

Nicole was sitting in the diner, reading letters she found within Rebecca’s things. She knew it was a bad thing to go behind her back but this was something she needed to do. She wanted Sasha to be at the wedding more than anything in the world. She should be there. Just as she was getting up to get a re-fill of coffee, Jessica and Sarah walked in. She called them over and invited them to sit down.

“Girls, I was in a really bad place a few months ago.” Nicole started to say “I realise now I wasn‘t a good friend and I‘m so sorry about what I did, how I acted and treated you. You were both my best friends since I came here and I ruined that”

“We are both sorry also” Jessica smiled. “And we are glad to hear everything is going well for you and your family”

“Aw, I really missed you.” Nicole started to cry. She didn’t think that her old friends would forgive her, but they had.

The three sat and caught up on everything that had been happening in each others lives. It was great to see each other were doing well and good. They agreed they had to meet up and have lunch soon since it had been a really long time. It felt right that they were friends again. After a couple of hours, Jessica and Sarah needed to get back home. They hugged Nicole and left her to her work. Nicole smiled cheerfully. Everything was working out and she was delighted.

Ryan walked into the diner and saw Nicole. He walked over to her and sat down beside her, looking at what she was doing.

“What ya doin‘, hot stuff?” Ryan winked at Nicole.

Nicole laughed “None of your business, go away.”

“Ahhh, playing hard to get. I like your style” Ryan laughed as he put his arm around Nicole’s waist.

Nicole didn’t respond, she was too concentrated on finding Sasha to notice his arm, or that he was flirting with her shockingly.

“So Nic…I was thinking. It‘s coming up to Christmas now…The prefect season for a first date, you know. And I fell this connection between us and I was think we should catch a movie or something. Or a bite to eat? Do you like to eat? Because I really like to eat”

“Oh my God.” Nicole froze. She hadn’t listened to a word to Ryan’s rambles.

“Well, like we don‘t have too…We can do whatever. Whatever-”

Nicole looked at Ryan “What are you talking about?!”

“Um…nothing” Ryan replied realising she hadn’t listened to what she said.

“I found her…” Nicole stared at the address, it was too familiar 33 Madison Avenue

“Who? What?” Ryan was puzzled as to what she meant.

“Future step-mum‘s daughter! I found her…”

“You don‘t seem to pleased”

“Because…she was closer than I thought.” Nicole glared a the address. She couldn’t take her eyes off of it.

“Why is that? I‘m confused here.” Ryan laughed, still looking for answers.

“Because she lives on the same road I used to live on. I know where this house is…” Nicole was shocked. Sasha lived on the street where her mum lived. She could get to her house tomorrow if she wanted too.

“Why are you finding her?” Ryan asked looking at the letters.

“She should be at her mothers wedding…” Nicole smiled at Ryan “I have to get to the city!”

“I can take you” Ryan offered hoping Nicole would take the offer.

“Would you? Really?” Nicole said to Ryan. Before he could answer she said “Let‘s go! Right now!”
