Ryan Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Regarding the Beach House, doesn't the front face the beach, the back on the road.
Drew Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Regarding the Beach House, doesn't the front face the beach, the back on the road. I always assumed the front faced the beach, and the road was placed inbetween the two... I've only ever assumed that from one of the episodes back in the early 00's when someone was throwing bricks through the windows, and a little while after that Hayley and Irene got a hose and hosed the people down, you could see the ocean in the background and I'm sure there were cars parked at the front... Not sure what the storyline was there, like I said it happened awhile ago.
Dan F Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 The original Beach House location had the beach at the front, with just a small patch of grass in between, and the road is at the back of the house - the time I think you're talking about Drew was when Irene was being threatened by 2 guys outside the house, but they used a one off location for her 'driveway' which was here We've never really seen a proper scene outside the Beach House for years and years! They've changed the stock shot since the original house, but I don't have a clue where it is.
meant2live Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 I always go in the back door of my house.
emma_2006 Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 I find it a bit wierd too but, over the years have got used to it, so it doesn't really bother me too much
Perry Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Well the Beach House makes more sense now... I always thought that this view was from the street:
Dan F Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 You can see the road at the rear of the house (you can only see the garage of the Beach House) on the Streetview on that location page. From that above picture, if you turn around this is the view: I'll get around to adding those images to the page at some point.....
Tulip Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 I think it works better with people using the back doors rather than the front. All the time wasted of people having to go to front door every time someone's there could make up a new episode, and it would mean characters leaving the room as well. Also if people can walk straight in, that allows for confrontational scenes if the door's always open. I guess it also emphasizes the fact that they're all friends, and know each other well enough to just stroll in and out of each other's houses.
ter06 Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 It really annoys me the way they leave their doors constantly open and then they wonder why they get stabbed in the middle of the night! It might be small (psychotic) town but does anybody really leave their doors open in 2008? I recall one scene earlier this year, where if memory serves me correct, Irene was nervous over Johnny Coopers return yet had her back door wide open.

Apparently in parts of Canada [i saw this on a documentary recently] people leave their front doors unlocked & open all the time So it might not just be a Summer Bay thing, lol.
