So you go to visit Irene at the Beach house instead of going up to the front of the house and knocking on the front door you go to the gate, open it walk to the back of the house and knock at the back door to find Irene conveniently in the kitchen to open it for you. Does anybody else find it annoying? It also happens at Leah's and they do it at the Summer Bay house too but that is understandable as it is a Caravan Park and it seems the caravans are closer to the back door. But why would someone just let themselves into their backyards, its just stupid. I guess it is just convenience for the sets. But it's not like Irene's kitchen and her living room are completely separated and her kitchen is filmed at the studio in Epping and the Living room set is at the Melbourne studios.

I've looked passed that now after ten years of watching the show, but what still irritates me is that they always leave their doors wide open... Like, anyone could come in... And they all wonder why there's stalkers, rapers and theifs lurking around.

It all anoys me that the houses are so perfect. You never see any one cleaning or ironing. There are no pets.

But I do agree with you about the pet thing. I really wish animals would exist- Geoff and Annie lived on a farm for christs sake! And can you imagine Nicole with a little tiny dog thing?!?!

As for the backdoor thing...yeah it's annoying, but it adds for a little variety I guess, and another place for scenes to take place.

Ditto. I'm used to everyone going to the back of the house, but the fact that the majority leave their doors open and sometimes when there's no one in the room seems pretty careless and unrealistic to me. I know Summer Bay is a small town and practically everyone knows everyone, but there is a limit! I don't live in Australia, but I can't see Aussies leaving their doors open quite as much as those in Summer Bay.

I must admit, I thought the title of this thread was a euphemism for something :whistle:

But anyway, I think it does annoy me too. I've never even seen the front door at Leah's, or the front door at the Caravan Park house- I didn't think they had them. You'd think visitors would knock on the front door, not be rude enough to march into the kitchen, wouldn't you?

Yeah I would like to see the front door of SummerBay house.Ive seen a clip from the olden days with Sally as a little girl holding Pippa's hand and running through the front door out onto a porch.The inside of the house is only a set though I think?Are any of the places real like locations?or is only the outside of buildings real

All the main interiors are sets (the main characters houses, Diner, Surf Club, School, Hospital etc.)

Sometimes when you have other locations, that are only in one or two episodes, then they will use the real interior. Aden & Larry's house and also Melody's house are the real interiors also.

Even if they wanted to, they wouldn't be able to use the inside of the real Summer Bay House as it burnt down in 2002.
