James Martin Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 The Sun had a provisional Christmas schedule pullout on Thursday and I can confirm that both Neighbours and Home & Away will be breaking over Christmas. The dates, as noted, may change for H&A depending on the return date in Australia... by my very ropey calculations we're due to air the Season Finale - tonight's Australian episode - in the first week or two of 2009. We'll probably start our transmissions of the 2009 season dangerously closely, however with Bank Holidays factored in we should be fine, especially if we take another break over summer like we did this year to compensate for Australia's Olympic hiatus - in any case it's a good excuse to show classic episodes for a bit!
Red Ranger 1 Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 If we're currently seven weeks behind and we're off for two weeks and Australia's off for four, then we'd be three weeks behind when they come back.I suspect they'll then have a two week break over Easter and another one over summer to put it back to seven this time next year.But I might be completely wrong.

KirstyEkua Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 I love the specials!!! The 'bad boys' one they showed a few months ago was just great. I loved it!! We had all the drama of Irene being poisioned and then Charlie with Rachel. It's fun to go back to old episodes.

The episodes were only just broadcast at the beginning of November. Still, somebody mentioned above it is taking a 9 week break. If this is true at least that means there's more time to show some of the classic episodes. And who knows they could even resume the early years for a bit.

We will most definitely be having a much larger break than 2 weeks here in Ireland/UK.

If it's nine weeks then we'd be showing the 2009 premiere the same day as Australia(which I suppose would make Five Life ahead of Australia).Anything less than that and we'd still be a bit behind.It does look as though they'll have to either extend the Christmas break or have another one in January or something.
